Are you all reading the same post that I am? The battle pass has been confirmed to be “purely cosmetic” so fucking stop whining and READ god damn. Also to whoever said they’re taking away their gold, you pretty much are hopeless, I would suggest reading the article but you clearly can’t.

Sherman1986 posted a message on Remember when Glide was supposed to be the most annoying card?Posted in: Card DiscussionI never thought it was the most oppressive card to be ever printed in a card game (seriously, that would be too much), but it is cool. Obviously, Glide has potential. Could be a thing in the future (even in a not so distant one) or never be useful at all (not even in Wild), no one knows, that's for sure.

Jonesy978 posted a message on First day of expansion and I am already saltyPosted in: General DiscussionDruid needs nerfs because the deck feels awful to play against. I've seen Druids on turn 1 or 2 do insane things. Guardian Animals is a huge offender. Whatever cards are targeted, it's one of those decks where this is no interaction with your opponent that matters in many games. It's just a question of, "Does my opponent have the nuts?"
What you do in response doesn't matter in far too many games.

Sherman1986 posted a message on Secret Passage is the best designed card in the last expansionsPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from user-100394506 >>Secret Passage in my opinion is the best designed card in the last expansions. It is obviously a strong card, maybe also broken, but it allows the game to be more dynamic and less consistent, this is why I consider this card so good. It can be a frustrating card, especially when your opponent is able to find lethal with it. But I consider it a fair card also against decks based on heavy control cards.
In my opinion, it is also a very skilled card, regarding, the obvious uses in which it is not a skilled card, for example when your hand is empty; this card is skill intensive when it is used when you have cards in hand, but you are using it to make a better and consisted turn.
So, I know that many can disagree, but for me Secret Passage is the best and better designed card in the expansion with an whole new mechanic. I am very happy about this card.
Even if you were right, I would wait a bit more before making such statement. Or did you make this thread on a hurry to be the first one talking about this? :P

lv426a11 posted a message on Secret Passage is the best designed card in the last expansionsPosted in: General DiscussionThere's nothing skilled about it. The only decision you need to make is - does my hand have anything useful that I want to cast?
Yes - don't cast; No - cast. It really is that simple.
It's very simply an undercosted draw card with a quirk. I'm not saying it's stupidly OP or needs a nerf, just that it's not as clever as you think it is. It does make tracking look a bit pish tho...

Wiggy_HS posted a message on Theorycrafting Livestreams - Thursday, July 30Posted in: NewsSo... maybe just don't watch?
I absolutely get it if you would rather pass and wait for the expansion to drop, for your own sake. But all these posts whining about Blizzard putting on a stream for those that do enjoy them have to be somewhere in between the most childish and the most selfish thinking I've seen this week. Imagine thinking a one-night stream is going to "figure out the meta" one week before release.

fjl93 posted a message on Theorycrafting Livestreams - Thursday, July 30Posted in: NewsI mean, I find it useful. Most of the players prefer to use whatever is on top of deck lists... At least this promotes using custom decks.
Are you really serious about that "this is the main problem of the game"? They started to do this not so long ago. And the game used to get stale A LOT MORE. Expansions were released and people'd just keep running the same list of Odd Paladin just because it worked. That's the same with Face Hunter, Highlander Hunter, and a lot of other lists.
I'm just tired of this community complaining about Blizzard and not realizing that most of the problems come from the community itself.

Geoff posted a message on What are the 5 strongest cards for you like now?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from Pageturner >>1. Soulshard Lapidary - I think this card alone will inspire Demon Hunters to run the full soul shard package. It's very aggressive and provides a lot of easy value. It curves very well with a lot of exceptional Demon Hunter cards.
2. Troublemaker - This is a big threat that needs to be removed. Warrior is going to have fun with this one as it provides decent removal and a lot of value for its worth.
3. Lab Partner - Just an exceptional one-drop for Mage. Good for the early, mid, and late game.
4. Professor Slate - A sleeper for sure. This with Rapid Fire and secrets like Explosive Trap will be amazing.
5. Vectus - I believe this will inspire some people to run specific deathrattles to gain maximum value.
Just a side note - not like I necessarily disagree with the choices - NO ONE will ever attack into a secret with Professor Slate on the board.

I never quite thought that either haha. It's just the vibe I got from some comments here when it was first revealed =P.
I've played my fair share of Magic, and, to a lesser extent, Yu-gi-oh (back in my younger days). I know oppressive cards, and Hearthstone rarely gets close to some cards from those games haha.

Serious question here. Remember when people were saying Glide was the most oppressive card to ever be printed in a card game ever? Quick follow-up... Has anyone seen it get used yet?
Seriously haha. I'm sure some people have seen it used, but I don't know why some people didn't see how obviously situational the card was.
1
Ah that does look interesting. Sorry about that, I just thought...I donno what I thought =P.
Maybe poison granted to the spell doesn't proc KT for whatever reason. I think there's gonna be lots of spaghetti code random interactions in this expansion haha, lots of strange wordings on cards.
1
Not only that, but golden packs don't have a pity timer at all.
1
You haven't been around much then =P. People have worried about cards pre-release since Goblins vs Gnomes (maybe even pre-Classic, but I came in after that haha).
I do think Secret Passage can be a problem and should probably be 2 or maybe even 3 mana. This is definitely a more troublesome card than Glide in my opinion, since Glide seems to be a lot more situational than a lot of people seem to realize. There's a chance that Secret Passage rng is too much to overcome, but for 1 mana, there's literally no drawback to just throwing it into every rogue deck there is.

I think some people really undervalue discover. Sure, a card from your deck is better in a vacuum, but when you need a short term answer, Discover is your best way out. Much better than drawing like Deep Freeze or Dragonqueen Alexstrasza at that moment.
I'm just thinking, don't underestimate Discover. This card should be present in almost every deck (other than like spell mage or pure paladin obviously).
2
I think everyone knew how it would work. The thing is, at least to me, it's just not an exciting card haha. Maybe if he had Divine Shield too? But I guess being 3/12 rather than 3/9 doesn't make a whole lot of difference after his first activation.
I think he could be okay... Just underwhelming and not exciting compared to other legendaries this expansion.
4
Umm... I know it's a bit different, but wasn't Azure Drake HOF'd for a reason? Haha. Because of the "Discover" mechanic, this card could be even better.

I feel like, out of all the bad things Blizzard has come to be known for... This is actually a good thing lol. Not sure why previous people commenting here are complaining so much.
Yes, I returned at Ashes of Outland after a 1.5 year ish break (quit during Rastakhan Rumble), so I mean I guess I understand that it's a bit annoying I'm not getting free stuff. But I also understand this is a really good move on Blizzard's part. I just wish they started this promotion earlier =P.

Hmm... I thought it was a million times better for Paladin, especially because of the janky interactions they showed in the video. Libram paladin approves. And, yes, tempo duplicate priest approves too - just not standard control/galakrond priest haha.
Edit: I should mention that the RNG of the card can be bad for paladin too haha. Empty board consecration feels bad.
