It actually does have quite a bit to do with time. I post regularly and update my control warrior build here on this very site... but it takes an hour plus to render each video I put forward for those who are also trying the build. I work six days a week and only if I don't sleep can I plow a dozen games in a day. On top of this, warrior control takes 15 mins per match as opposed to the 6 minute rush builds. This is the difference in a rediculous 70% win environment of 36 play hours versus 15 play hours. This is why everyone plows the season with an agro build and then switches to a higher winrate build once they hit the orange gem. You move to a more realistic 58% winrate and your time to legend with warrior control becomes 79 played hours.. in 30 days!
The season is too short for those of us who (while not at all casual) have families to take care of and are knee deep in responsibility. Does this mean we're worse players? Not by a long shot. It just means that if we want to be honest with ourselves, the meta is predominantly agro because of the length of the season - which in turn skews the results of who is truly deserving of the legend title. A longer season is the only way to get a mixed meta, and not oust what might be some of your best players.

If this ever happened to me I would actually just uninstall Hearthstone.

Squelch everyone at the start of the game. If you know your opponent has lethal and they start dicking around and making elaborate plays instead of ending the game, open up your web browser and check your mail or some forums or whatever. If they screw up because they wanted to be showy while you were reading something else, take advantage. If they didn't, click the screen and play your next game.

I've found that I have lots of trouble with freeze mages as a tempo rogue. I feel like holding on to Loatheb until the late turns will completely turn that around. Depending on mana curve, I might use the Ambushers too (instead of the Chillwind Yeti). My reasoning? Loatheb on whatever turn near the end. They place Alexstraza. Attack Alex with Ambusher, return Loatheb to me, then play him again. It's something to consider.
Yeah freeze mage can be a real b17ch to deal with as a tempo rogue, here is a guide to dealing with them.
First basic strategy. Do not assume your playing it when you go up against a mage because aggro mage is just as strong and just as popular. Once you do realize that your playing a Freeze mage go crazy face all over your opponent. Save your chargers for after a board freeze, you need to make sure your dealing damage every turn. If you can and need to, Kill the Doomsayer, if you can't use your blade for damage and get ready to set up a burst for next turn. If at any point you can cold blood a minion to hit the mage in the face do it, its 4 extra that you need when ever you get the chance. If you know they have an Ice block up find a way to make their health exactly 1 before triggering it so that all you need to finish the job is one swing of your dagger. Do not give them more time. Also try to save blade flurry for the taunt twins. You need to make sure your dealing as much damage as possible every turn so you might have to just use blade flurry for damage from time to time, though if possible save it for the taunts.
Secondly cards, I have talked about lack of big swingers, in my current tempo rogue I run both Ragnaros and Leeroy. They are both amazing in this match up. The freeze mage doesn't run many minions so a Fire ball from rag to the face is very easy to set up, and the only big minion they do run just so happens to have 8 health, perfect for rag. Leeroy is great for surprise burst damage after a board freeze.
thanks for your reply man. very well said and i understand now fully why you put leeroy there. i have tried leeroy before in tempo rogue but removed him mainly because he was sitting in my hand a lot in some games. with the new naxx cards, im definitely going to try your list and see how it does. the 1st deck seems to be a really good theorycrafted deck. needs tweaking but a good start. thanks again.
No Problem : D
PS: Reading through other post and decks right now, a little busy at the moment will come back later and read through everything and respond to all the deck list and other questions : D

As people have said, bad statted tech card here. Also, I'm never a fan of tech cards being epic. If you ever need two of these in your deck (not sure why you would, but you never know haha), it needlessly raises the cost of the deck.
It should have at least been 3/4 or 4/3 though. Oh well, not much to see here.

I understand those tech cards. I'm just sad that I basically have to play warlock if I want to counter these druids. I'd like to play around with tempo rogue, midrange paladin, big spell mage (just a few examples) if I could. I don't want to queue against a druid and think to myself "Well, here we go again" before losing a 15-20 minute match. I'm really hoping there's another transform card like that warlock spell. A similar effect should have been on a neutral battlecry (or even neutral deathrattle, might make it more balanced). Maybe that's still coming.
Also, I don't play wild. But I would really love for a Dirty Rat-esque card to come to standard. Especially with druid getting all these insane late game cards.

I think one big problem is it's going to have 100% win rate against "greedy control" decks. Whether it's Malygos or Togwaggle. And druid has been given many ways to survive against aggro, so they will also counter aggro. Also, Malygos or Togwaggle druids will counter other combo decks because it will be more reliable I think (especially vs Shudderwock).
I just don't see a deck right now that can counter these guys. I haven't given toooo much thought about other cards in this expansion yet, but this card worries me. It would be nice if the community could agree as a whole to not play druid 50% of the time lol. There are a lot of other really interesting cards in this expansion which could make for an interesting, fun meta.

I'm hoping that I'm misinterpreting all these druid reveals. Malygos druid will be ridiculous. Togwaggle druid will be ridiculous and annoying to play against. The sad druids who stick to taunt druid will also be ridiculous (though not as ridiculous as their Malygos Togwaggle counterparts).
I really don't get it. Mana "ramp" is supposed to be their main identity. Not mana reduction. I'm finally starting to get nervous about this expansion.

I finally made it! Using the Deathrattle hunter that ended up being on the front page here. Feels good, it's been a few months.

This is a very interesting card. You can fit it into an ordinary tempo rogue with an actual win condition if the game ends up going too long. It feels very Jade-y as people have pointed out, but a little less hopeless to play against. It's that "little less" power that might keep this card in meme territory though.
But, the synergy with the rogue's bounce-back cards and especially Sonya Shadowdancer already... It's either going to be awesome and meta-defining, or it's this expansion's "high rated, poor in practice" card haha.
1
I do think that Lab Recruiter will be very key in some kinda cheesy deck involving Myra's Unstable Element. Could be meta-defining actually. It's just a matter of finding the best minion to go infinite with.
I'm intrigued to see the rogue legendary minion. Maybe something with "Whenever you play another minion, add a copy of it to your deck"?

Nine turns is a long time to draw Velen and/or Malygos though haha, as I've experienced while playing taunt druid (getting everything that Master Oakheart can bring out in those first 9 turns or less). Hell even recruit hunters draw their big deathrattles before Seeping Oozeling More than I'd like haha.
This will definitely be part of some kind of OTK resurrect combo priest though. I guess this spell does help make it more consistent.

So warlock was already one of the top tier decks. Now they're giving warlock a way to completely shut down combo decks lol (I know Gnomeferatu was already a thing, but this is crazy too).
Frustrating card as a class specific, but I guess it's necessary.

I feel like something to do with "hand druid" should be in here. And how do we cross off "Bad card with great reviews", before playing with the card for a week or two?
I also feel like "Trying to push a new archetype altogether" (in fewer words) could be in here (think spell hunter, freeze shaman, or more recently rush warrior or hand druid).
Also, we already have Annoy-o-Module for the Annoy-o-trio spot.
