Evolve shaman is really naughty this year and need a fucking nerf
like anything, weapon at 3 attack would be a good start but I would prefer 6 mana.
Thanks you Santa!
Honestly, I think neither attack nor mana of the weapon is the problem with evolve shaman. The evolve mechanic is meant to be high variance and should be balanced accordingly. The actual problem with evolve shaman is it being waaayyyy too consistent. This has two reasons:
1) Cagematch custodian. This card allows shamans to consistently have at least one copy of the knuckles on curve, which is bad for the balance. It should never have been released during the same rotation as the weapon.
2) Boggspine knuckles affecting the whole friendly side of the board. Since the deck can quite easily vomit 7 minions on the board, you can easily evolve 7 minions with it. And at that point, the variance isn't that much of a problem anymore. There will be some nice evolutions almost all of the time. The weapon should affect 3 random friendly minions, 4 tops. Then the variance would still be quite high. Allowing really good and really bad turns. Also, the shamans would need some additional plans and considerations regarding the rest of their board space, making it a more interesting deck overall.
At least one of those two problems need to be adressed by the developers. In general, I'm not a fan of balance updates that only change mana costs and stats. If an effect seems to be overtuned you might want to adjust the effect itself...
Just ran into a priest with my Zoolock whose play, beginning at turn 3, was:
Breath of the Infinite
Holy Nova
Palm Reading + Coin + Holy Nova (from Palm Reading)
Holy Nova (top decked) + 2x discounted Penance to kill my Gandling
Shadow Word: Death on my Nightshade Matron + Convincing Infiltrator
Galakrond + Wave of Apathy
Blood of G'huun into Karthut Defender
Karthut Defender + Grave Rune
Then I obviously conceded.
Why can't Blizzard grow a pair and delete this whole garbage class, whose only purpose is to suck all the fun out of every other player?
And yes, I know, Priests winrates aren't overwhelming and he highrolled me quite a bit. That's not the point. That being, it just isn't fun playing against priest. Against ordinary classes, like Hunter for example, I can enjoy the game even when losing. Against Priests I just want to auto-concede before the game begins.

Always nice to see an unpopular legendary really paying off. One turn earlier my opponent cleared my board with the Mask of C'Thun.
Then I played Gandling + Desk Imp + Desk Imp + Boneweb egg + Tour Guide.
One turn after I drew Wicked Whispers and won the game.
