    posted a message on UPDATE: ENORMOUS Dust Exploit 10.2.0

    UPDATE #1: Prior to the launch of today's patch, my Mean Streets of Gadgetzan collection had 15/20 legendaries from the set.  I was missing Krul, Genzo, Knuckles, Beardo, and Patches; although it is also worth noting that I disenchanted my golden Raza as soon as I logged into Hearthstone today, which effectively put my collection at 14/20 legendaries.  As a side note, a few days ago I purchased packs with gold until I hit my legendary pity timer until I received one, (Noggenfogger), so starting off today my Mean Streets pity timer was effectively 0.

    After purchasing a 60 pack bundle of Gadgetzan packs moments ago: I received Genzo, a golden Knuckles, 2 copies of a golden Raza (from back to back packs amazingly enough), a regular copy of Raza, and 2 copies of Patches in that order; making sure to disenchant any copies of Raza and Patches as soon as I got them.

    UPDATE #2: After opening another batch of 120 cards following the first 60 pack bundle, I received Krul, a golden Patches, 2 Razas, 2 Patches, a golden Raza, and a Beardo in that order; which now puts me at my targeted goal of 18/20 legendaries collected.

    In the 180 Mean Streets Packs that I opened while having 14/20 legendaries collected and a pity timer set at 0, I was able to get 4 "boring" legendaries (one of which being golden), 4 golden copies of either Patches/Raza, and 7 normal copies of either Patches/Raza.

    I actually messed up by accidentally mousing over minor parts of my collection while searching for "new" cards in the search bar so I can't tell for sure what I was actually missing from my collection in terms of golden cards and epics; although this is not such a big deal since my intention was to just hit the mass disenchant button anyways so that I can keep anything that is not a duplicate.

    RESULTS: By keeping whatever I didn't already have, my current mass disenchanting value is at 9645.  By disenchanting the 4 golden Patches/Raza, and 7 normal Patches/Raza, I was able to get 24000 dust.  On average, I was able to get 189 dust per pack from only disenchanting Patches/Raza and duplicates.  This average value would be much higher if I disenchanted every golden, epic, or legendary card that I had also gotten but decided to keep.  This average value would also be slightly higher if I disenchanted normal copies of cards that I already have copies of in golden.  Overall, I would estimate that the average pack that I opened during this session in the time of the nerf is worth ~240 dust per pack on the slightly higher end of the spectrum.  More than double the average ~106 dusting value from any standard pack you get and way higher than the low ball ~119 dust average that I worked out originally as a testament to this method's potential.

    I will no longer be buying more packs with money in the nearby future, even when a new expansion comes out because now I can just craft whatever I want and not feel bad about it because my original low-ball math calculations worked out way better than I expected (as expected) and because I made a wise decision that would bolster a stronger collection in the most effective way possible.

    But of course, this is all just a conspiracy/scam so that you can throw your money at Blizzard on old and outdated card packs because math never works out or makes sense whenever someone else does it and you can't do it yourself.  From the feedback that I have gotten below in the comment section over the past few days, I actually learned that the average pack you open at its absolute worst is worth 260 dust (40x4 from commons and 100x1 from the rare).  Obviously I played myself because opening Patches/Raza over and over again so that you can disenchant it for their original crafting value is vastly inferior to opening 4 commons and a rare.  260>240 ez maths according to Hearthpwn.

    VERDICT: You guys are the voice of reason and are right about everything.  Now I'm broke and have absolutely nothing to show for it.  My math sucks and is completely wrong; I'm the idiot here and totally screwed myself on this one guys kappa. /s

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    UPDATE #3: I bought some more packs, and in short lets just say that my numbers in my second update were slightly skewed and misguided.  Starting off buying packs, I didn't have a full collection of all the Gadgetzan legendaries and opened 4 of them along the way.  Although the majority of my legendaries pulled in my first batch of 180 packs opened were Patches/Raza, 4 of them were not; which actually makes a huge difference.
    Also I want to bring to attention that while opening a golden version of Patches/Raza is also a big deal and albeit rare, when you're just going to disenchant it anyways, a golden version is only as good as 2 copies of a regular version.  If you thought that my getting 4 golden Patches/Raza was a result of  godlike pack rng, just imagine that I opened 8 Patches/Raza in their place; which is reasonable at any pace while using this method.
    The first time around, I stopped opening packs once I had 18/20 of the non Patches/Raza legendaries.  Using my own results, I would have to say that the average amount of dust per pack you get using this method while approaching 18/20 legendaries collected would be somewhere around 220-230 dust on average.  When you do happen to get the 18/20 non Patches/Raza legendaries however, which is the point in which you will only ever open Patches/Raza from your packs (the condition that I originally forecasted), the disenchanting value of each pack beyond this point is somewhere around 270-280 dust on average.  A little over 2.5x the ~106 dust disenchanting value of the average pack.
    Cheers.  This exploit can only be done within the next 2 weeks before the nerf settles and the disenchanting values return to normal.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    In the entire history of Hearthstone (post beta), only 3 legendaries so far have been nerfed:  Leeroy Jenkins, Yogg-Saron, and The Caverns Below.  All of the mentioned cards were released and nerfed prior to the updated legendary system added last year in which starting with KotFT, once you open any one specific legendary card in a pack you will no longer be able to unpack it a second time resulting in a duplicate unless you already have one of every single legendary card from the expansion of the pack you are opening

    With the upcoming patch, Patches and Raza will both be nerfed; however, the biggest impact these two cards will have will not be on the meta of the actual game, but rather on your card collection itself.  Why?  Because they are both legendary cards; but even more importantly, because they are both part of the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan expansion.

    A common trick used nowadays by players that have a loaded collection and every single collectible legendary from a single expansion with the intention to open even more packs is to disenchant a regular version of a legendary in hopes of opening a golden version of it because you can just keep cycling back and forth between dusting a card, opening it again without fail, and continuing to do so until you get a golden copy.  This is all possible due to the fact that you can now target specific legendaries to open once you already have all the legendaries, something you couldn't do before in the entire history of Hearthstone until KotFT came out.

    Step 1: Obtain a full collection of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan (at least all of the legendaries if not 2 copies of every epic).

    Step 2: Disenchant Patches and Raza during the nerf period in which dusting them will result in a full dust refund.

    Step 3: Open Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Packs and continue to unpack both Patches and Raza.

    Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3

    Assuming at worst that every pack you open during this process you get 40 dust per pack with the exception of getting either Patches or Raza as your legendary every 20 packs on average in which you would receive 1620 dust, you're looking at a minimum average of 119 dust per pack at the absolute worst pack rng.  Not factoring in the potential multiple rares, epics, golden cards, and even the reasonable frequency of possibly getting a golden Patches or Raza, you will be able get a ludicrous amount of dust through this process.

    Obviously no exploit or opportunity like this has ever been seen before in Hearthstone, and obviously no other dust refund extravaganza for nerfed cards has ever been able to even come close to the potential of the upcoming nerfs; but what does this truly all mean?

    Is it a wise choice to get a fully loaded Gadgetzan collection when the set is going to rotate out in less than 2 months?  Absolutely not if you only play standard and think that you will get bored of these cards in wild, but here is the kick that is going to blow your mind.  If you take this opportunity and go crazy opening Gadgetzan packs, you will never have to buy additional or new packs ever again beyond this period.  Also worth mentioning that you will have 100% control over what cards you "open" in the future.  Yes, this is 100% real and legit.  Disenchanting nerfed cards has always been good in the sense that you could trade in this outdated card for another card of your choice of the same quality at a 1:1 value.  Speaking of value, nothing has ever been more valuable than what is about to come.  Say for example each time you open Patches or Raza during this time; it is the equivalent of receiving 4 epics or 1 legendary of your choice at a 1:1 exchange ratio when you eventually cash in on all of your dust in the nearby future.

    It might not be so exciting to open Patches and Raza over and over again, but want to know what is?  Knowing that you can control the rng of future packs that you're going to open by not opening them at all.  If you take advantage of this exploit, you can use the fully refunded dust from the 2 Gadgetzan legendaries and essentially trade it in for all of the good stuff in future expansions.  The best part?  You will no longer open all the trash pack fillers and have to deal with completely useless epics and legendaries that are a package deal along with bad and natural pack opening rng.  Even just getting Patches or Raza 6 or 7 times during this period will essentially guarantee you to receive all of the 10 or so meta defining epics and legendaries of the next expansion and completely ignore the rest of the set that won't see any play, with a ludicrous amount of dust to spare from the cards that are not these 2 legendaries.

    So who has their wallet ready?

    Sure, there will be dumbasses who try to build the most efficient Aggro decks and spam play noobs for easy wins, but at least it would be skill and not both skill and card advantage.

     How have you not yet realized that skill does not exist in Hearthstone, and neither does it exist in deck building.  Its not a different class of play mode, game style, or ingenuity you're suggesting, but rather a raw alternative that still involves netdecking.
    Also, the age-old issue with Hearthstone is that generally the cheapest cards to craft in are also the fastest and that more expensive cards to craft are slower; which is the reason why the players with a limited card collection are the same people that usually play these brainless aggro decks.
    In short, in a game mode like this just encourages and more or less forces the people that have a poorer card collection to play aggro, as well as forcing them to play against aggro every match; and the same can be said for control.

    this means I can't just save up for packs every time. in addition to this I'm not sure how you make more than 100 gold every single day. I assume you are on average making 60g with quests and possibly 50g with wins, which is 15 wins (30 games?) a day?

    is this correct?

     Not on average, but exactly.  I min/max my potential gold gain every day.  I farm 30 wins a day, re-roll every quest that offers 40 or 50g, and if I reroll into another 40-50g quest I avoid completing it for another 1-3 days until I can reroll it off again for a 60g quest.  I basically get 100g a day every day from wins alone and delay completing any quest for as long as I possibly can until I get another chance to reroll it for a 60g or more quest.  Also I scam/jebait my friends and random people for their 80g quest.

    posted a message on How Much Gold Have You Saved Since K&C?

    Prior to the launch of Kobolds and Catacombs, I pre-ordered 50 packs and dumped all of my gold to buy packs (2000g) upon release.  Since then, I have been able to save up 3800+ gold from daily quests, arena rewards, and wins without buying another single pack in just under a month.

    I have a history of spending a lot of money on this game and will probably continue to do so in order to support the developers, but only recently have I realized just how easy it is to acquire gold in Hearthstone and how generous Blizzard is when it comes down to awarding free stuff.  I think that their current system and structure of distributing gold and free packs through rewards is perfectly tuned the way it is now.

    I really don't understand why people complain all the time and say that this game is unfriendly to F2P players.  As of now, I am currently expecting to save up between 13-14k gold before the next expansion hits, starting off with essentially nothing over the duration of a 3 month period.  If I can do it, then everybody can do it; and if everybody can do it, then everybody can play this game F2P without any issues.  Being able to purchase well over 100 packs for the price of nothing every expansion is very generous on behalf of Blizzard.

    Of course, I will also be pre-ordering 50 packs and dropping around an additional $300 on pack bundles in addition to spending all of my gold so that I can craft all of my favorite golden cards to support the developers and so that I can netdeck all of the popular high winrate meta decks; but I still think that I am doing very good in terms of ingame gold thanks to Blizzard's highly robust F2P model.

    So how much gold have you saved up so far since K&C?  How much are you expecting to save up leading up to the next expansion?

    posted a message on People playing gatekeeper at rank floors?

    I am actually part of a gatekeeping guild that camps out at rank 5 near the end of every single ladder season.  Upon queueing into other members, one of us immediately concedes so that we can continue on our mission.  If we queue into someone outside of the guild but has already reached rank 5+ for the month, they are in the clear as they are not our enemy and as such we concede to these people as well.

    Our primary target in the gatekeeping guild are players at rank 6-.  We will do everything in our power to prevent them from reaching rank 5 for the month as to prevent them from receiving higher rewards from their chest and to deny them of a golden epic.  Spamming emotes, bm all game long, rope every single turn, etc. all the while try harding and piloting the most cancerous decks in the game.  You either lose in 4 turns in a 10 minute game of roping against one of our aggro decks or lose after a whole hour of roping against one of our control decks.

    Win or lose, we will stop at nothing to hinder the advancement of players seeking to hit the rank 5 milestone at the end of the season.  Though we strive to utterly demolish such players, even in defeat our duties will have been sufficient enough in demoralizing them from continuing on any further; and make them realize that their attempts are futile and that they should accept defeat.  As midnight approaches, the gatekeeping guild will be going all out at full force.

    And yes, gatekeeping is very much real and alive in hearthstone and is the primary way some people like me derive excitement and enjoyment from the game.  Our leader has plans to extend our movement to gatekeep at ranks 10, 15, and even 20 in the months to come.

     oh look some pro used those deck!!lets not try them out for fun. Pathethic players everywhere.
    Beside this is an awesome site,i really wish there wasnt a way to netdeck.so people that suck at building decks would suck even in game,not that they win just because they use already tweaked  decks builded from others.
    Thumbs up for sharing your idea op :)
     I literally have no idea what you're talking about.  90% of the games I play are in wild, and 100% of the decks that I play are my own original creations.  I'm just trying to say that you shouldn't rely on anybody else to help contribute to original thought and deckbuilding, especially not on a site that was specifically made for netdecking.
    Hearthpwn is indeed an awesome site for discussion for all things Hearthstone, but I hope you realize that this site is also one of the biggest offenders as to why all of your ladder games are full of boring and stale netdecks.

    Sometimes when you play hearthstone, you can imagine that you're playing against a bot or a npc.  Considering that the interaction with the opposing player is incredibly limited, you might as well be playing against a robot instead of an actual human being.

    With that being said, the majority of the time I treat Hearthstone as a single player game.  Nothing more, nothing less.  Its actually kind of ridiculous to think that either you or your opponent would actually have an emotional impact on one another because of this.

    posted a message on I opened 30% Less Legendaries(122 Packs) then in all other Sets? Anyone noticed the same?

    Missing 30% legendaries in 122 packs?  What the hell does that even mean???  Pretty sure that math and statistics doesn't work out like you think it does.

    Assuming that on average you receive a legendary every 20 packs and you decide to open 100 packs however you only receive a legendary at worst only one every 40 packs, you would only have gotten 2 out of a supposed 5 averaging everything out.  Does that mean that you were denied 60% of your legendaries?

    I really want to know where you got that 30% from, especially since you didn't post how many legendaries you received or even how many you were expecting to get.  But yeah, you can essentially get that 30% or whatever it is you claim to a flat 0% if you just bought more packs because 122 isn't nearly enough to be making any absurd claims.

    Good list... for disenchanting.  If i have to be completely honest with you, i would 100% disenchant everything that you just put on the table.

    Its awful that you opened all of those unplayable legendaries to begin with, but hey at least that's a lot of dust going towards whatever you need to craft!  Should be able to let you complete the entirety of 2-3 meta decks.

    I am playing hearthstone like one and half year. I opened 40 kobolds packs with my golds and still I can't play any new competitive decks. I dont have already bunch of necessary cards from early expansions. I opened some packs with real money for early expansions but at the same time I crafted some wild cards because I love wild. Some people always says If you play arena 7/24 you can play expensive comp decks, If you grind hard, If you craft wisely, If you be a good boy... Yes, I am playing arena and I am spending my sources smartly, I am trying to be rank 5 every month but dude, It is a CASUAL GAME. I am not a worker working with minimum wage, I am playing game and try to have fun but I have to act like worker because I am not spending enough bucks. I have to be careful about every dust and every gold I spend, even I am not entirely f2p player. Compared to other f2p card games or even any other f2p game, hearthstone is more expensive. For instance, I am playing gwent for 4 months but I have almost entire set and I can play any competitive deck I want.( I am not gwent fanboy and I know, gwent have less cards but still there is no comparison)  You can say "You can delete the game" but after all, I like to play hearthstone.

    Sorry for my bed england

     If you aren't a minimum wage worker than you should definitely have some spending money to buy packs with.

    I'm having no issues receiving my daily quests as usual.  In fact, upon launch of K&C I think that my game bugged out and refreshed my quest log with 3 new quests instead of just 1!

    Are you guys buying enough packs?  I bought around 250 packs so maybe it has something to do with how much money you spend on new content.  Either way, daily quests/gold is not a reliable way to earn more packs; you should be paying for them to support the developers anyways so I wouldn't be so shocked if stuff from your account starts disappearing or goes missing.

    When did it change tho? After the very first expansion with many buying the wrong packs, Blizzard made a change that whenever a new expansion is released that you would have to manually select what pack you wanted to buy the first time you buy packs that expansion.

    Is this no longer in effect?

     Pretty sure that he's just spewing BS in order to grief so that he can get a refund.

    I don't deny it is partially my fault for not paying attention. But at the same time I have played since beta and am used to manually having to select new expansion so never really thought about "making sure I buy right packs" before.

    Manually doing something must mean that you're conscious of doing it.  Manually selecting the new expansion and making sure you're buying the packs you want sounds synonymous to me.  It sure sucks that you weren't paying attention but I would have to say that its entirely your fault.
    Enjoy your KofT packs dude.
