Lucero posted a message on Deathrattle Priest Returns (Sorry in advance)Posted in: Deathrattle Priest Returns (Sorry in advance)I developed a version of DR priest really early, before the meta version became prominent, back when Convincing Infiltrator was released. It was the first original deck I built that went on to become viable and well known. You're right, it was a grief deck for sure. So I love this idea and might try it out. However, I feel like having Al'ar taint your rez pool is really bad. Your other elementals are such better targets to re-summon. I gather you've included it because it can be played on T5, making it the second cheapest minion in the deck. But 3 health is way too easy to remove. Given you are running N'Zoth, I think there are three cards that would be better in this slot:
- Burning Blade Acolyte - This is a deathrattle minion at the same cost, and it adds a LARGE BEEFY demon to your N'Zoth rez pool in Demonspawn. At 1 health, it's even easier to remove than Al'ar, but the minion it summons is a serious problem. I run this card in a wild Double N'Zoth druid taunt deck, and people do not like seeing it.
- Dragonmaw Sky Stalker - Can't be played until 1 turn later than Al'ar, but the stats are better and the deathrattle minion is better when pulled off of Raise Dead. Additionally, this is a dragon, so it adds another great minion to your N'Zoth rez pool.
- Taelan Fordring - although it would pull minions, reducing targets for blood and idol, it is effective against aggro. Against control, just don't play him from hand until you need to. This is listed as #3 on purpose.
You have four other elementals in the deck. Al'ar should be replaced. I think the acolyte takes the cake, even if it is easy to remove at 1 health. No one is running silence so it's a guaranteed 5/8 taunt demon. One copy is probably fine since you're running Gift of Luminance.
edit: I also feel like Reliquary of Souls is worth considering for fairly obvious reasons. At 1 mana, you would almost always keep it against aggro. Great rez target, great to pull a 5-cost reliquary prime off corrupted Insight. Since it isn't a tribal minion, it doesn't fuck with N'Zoth. Etc. Etc.

fs2deeeeee posted a message on N'Zoth Paladin 76% WR D5-LegendPosted in: N'Zoth Paladin 76% WR D5-LegendI've been trying to get to Legend in Standard since I started playing in 2014. It has been extremely difficult for me.. I always ended ~6-7 wins from Legend no matter what. =(
BUT! A slightly modified version of this deck got me from D4-Legend last night.. finally! I initially made a bunch of modifications (swapped 6 cards), but was having trouble running out of gas.. so I went back to the root and made 1 simple change that pushed me from D2 (where I stalled) to Legend with little effort.
My modifications:
-1 Galloping Savior
+1 Taelan Fordring
This ensures that I can get the big 3 in my hand before Warlock burns, or make sure that I can pull hammer or gryphons when I already have the other component + the big 3.Also, to anyone trying this out: Do your best to get both Carousel Gryphons in your hand before using Hammer to corrupt them both with one drop, and follow up the next turn with 1 (or 2x) of them. I had a few people auto-concede right there because I guess that Paladins usually use Hammer as a last resort, when they're trying to get to their win condition or don't have anything else big to play other than said win condition. They don't expect it to be a thing used as a middle-of-the-match option with 2 followup Gryphons back to back into Dragons into N'zoth rezzing everything. It's just too much for most players to handle.
Something else I found amusing is that limiting the Holy spells to just Hand and Reckoning made me pull Reckoning early a lot. At first I found this really annoying, because I was so used to using it later in favor of Yogg + Savior (to proc Northwatch Commander) until I realized how much of a hard counter it is to early Face Hunter and early Paladin.. So I started using it early in Aggro matches and/or to proc Northwatch instead and it just murders the tempo of those decks. It's nuts. I had a Face Hunter concede on Turn 3 when his Felmaw popped, hit my 1/1 and got immediately yeeted off the board. XD
Thanks, Infamous!! This deck SLAPS. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I'm in the same position you are. Currently bouncing around D10-D8 but can't get consistent streaks. It's a fun deck to play so I'm going to keep trying, just can't quite get that star bonus.
I also took fs2deeeeee's advice and took out a Galloping Savior in favor of Taelan Fordring. Good call on that one!

Thanks for sharing this deck. I've been playing around with Demon Hunter but haven't had much luck until this deck. And definitely agree Venomous Scorpid is a solid replacement for Wandmaker.

I don't have Murgurgle either, but have pulled him a few times with the Underlight Angling Rod. I would craft Cariel. Not only that, you'll have Cariel for two years vs. Murgurgle that will get rotated out next year.
That said, this is a very fun deck to play.

It would be nice if they included those who played in qualifier rounds as well. It does take some effort to play in those and would also help garner interest in the different tours.
