Arch-Villain Rafaam or Archivist Elysiana both hard counter it.

carson_w posted a message on Appreciate Blizzard's card design?Posted in: General DiscussionI know it won't be a popular opinion given due to some poor designs they made, but I just felt like something like this does worth mentioning a little bit during the end of a standard year. They actually did something good with card design.
Class identities were well explored
Hunters used to be famous for going face, flooding minions, lack of late game. Let's try to print To My Side! and Kathrena Winterwisp, and see if they would stop playing tons of small minions? Worked! Mage's success has always been around early tempo with Mana Wyrm, Sorcerer's Apprentice and cheap burn spells, or just freeze and burn. What about removing Ice Block and give them Book of Specters and good elementals to work with? Mana Wyrm is still in elemental decks? I guess we know what to nerf.
Card nerfs / changes were tested
Priest always run Northshire Cleric in their deck, but Zerek's Cloning Gallery was enough to push him out? Okay, I guess you're balanced enough to stay in standard. Non aggro Druids use Innervate, Wild Growth, Nourish a lot, how about trying Greedy Sprite, Biology Project, Twig of the World Tree, and Dreampetal Florist? Wild Growth and Nourish are still better? They're probably too good.
Meta were somewhat planned to keep things fresh
Coming off the days of mid range Shaman and Pirate Warrior, players sure want some slower games (, and less rng?). Un'Goro brought some good taunts like Stonehill Defender and Tar Creeper. If the games are going longer, we need better late game fantasies. Frozen Throne brought us The Lich King and the Hero Cards. When game length gets longer and longer, people have chances to play combo decks, perfect time for Carnivorous Cube and Recruit mechanics to get on the stage. Too much power creep and new cards can't keep up? How about limiting card choices with Genn Greymane and Baku the Mooneater? Oops, too strong, too consistent. Probably did not expect that. Who would have imaged hero powers being the strongest and most deciding element in the game? Too break that up, card packages with synergies from Boomsday have odd AND even costs, like Firework Tech + Spider Bomb, and Annoy-o-Module + Mechano-Egg, even Blightnozzle Crawler +Necrium Vial. Mechs probably aren't strong enough to push Odd and Even decks away, but may be Spirit of the Frog will stop Shaman from being even and Sul'thraze will stop Warrior from being odd? Unfortunately, they could not.
I might sound like a fan boy saying good things about Blizzard in THE year when they created Genn and Baku. I'm not, I hate odd paladins and odd warriors too. (but not recruit hunter, have u tried it with Star Aligner?, it's fun!) I just feel like appreciating things is a good skill to have, just like criticizing things, and we should

Fluxflashor posted a message on Winter Veil is Coming! New Card Back, Bundle Deal, Free Packs Through QuestPosted in: NewsFirst off, HotS is Heart of the Swarm, the game you are referring to is called Heroes.
It wasn't only one event, it was the entire competitive scene. With no big backing from Blizzard, teams aren't going to be profitable which means there aren't any teams which means no one with a brain is going to create an event for it. Not only that but since its a team game it is very expensive to fly around 5 players compared to solo games like StarCraft which even though it is incredibly small now, it can still be profitable to send players around.
Scaling down the game put the game in maintenance mode. The game never got big and was considered dead on arrival to many. I enjoyed my times I've played Heroes but it never had a chance in the market. The timing of launch was late, alpha itself was late (and took way too long), though the team was good at putting out updates. It just got to the point where it was no longer profitable for them to have many devs on it.
I don't know if you happened to miss the entire outcry from people following the announcement but I can assure you after it, the game is more dead than ever. You'd be silly to buy anything in the game when you aren't sure how the pacing of new content is going to go (vital in a F2P game), which is going to hurt it financially more and possibly cause more people to be dragged off and onto other projects. Then we've even got people who want refunds on stuff they bought within the past few weeks because they bought it under different circumstances. I know if I was sucked in to a 365 day stimpack I too would be wanting my money back.
You're of course welcome to your own opinion, as am I, but calling it gross information makes me think you haven't seen the full picture.

jazzfan27 posted a message on Rumble Run, bad jokePosted in: General DiscussionSome opponents just steamroll you and it feels like you had zero chance. I never felt that way in the previous PVEs. I always felt like I had some measure of control, some means to a victory. But, sometimes here it's just hopeless. Other times it's a cakewalk.
IMHO this was terribly balanced. Feels rushed through.

thebeano posted a message on Rumble Run, bad jokePosted in: General DiscussionIt's insanely easy or insanely hard. Much lamer than dungeon run. Dungeon run had my attention for a little bit, this I'm done with on day one.
