CypherBenkes posted a message on PSA: People are bored of Pirates, Blizzard. You've run the theme into the ground.Posted in: General DiscussionMost places I look where Hearthstone is a topic, most people agree: Please, no more Pirates.
It is almost an absolute guarantee that Pirates will be the focus with the next expansion. I remember seeing years ago, when we were presented with TGT, Eric Dodds believed Pirates would win against Ninjas. We get it, you guys love Pirates. I know that you guys (Blizzard/Team 5) keep an eye on the community for the most part.
I have nothing against exploring a theme, really. I'm just curious about one thing: "Is this the expansion that allows us a break from Pirates for a little while?" I understand that some important Pirates will be rotating out with the next Standard rotation. I imagine you want to help keep some themes/archetypes alive, but if that's the case, why have we had whole expansions where there are maybe only 2 Mechs and maybe only 2 Dragons, and why have we stopped using the Inspire mechanic? I know Inspire didn't pan out the best, but surely we aren't keeping some mechanics confined to only one expansion, are we? We have Discover still long after the Explorers Adventure came out. Why is that? I love Discover to death, but you should be willing to justify all choices if you are going to be vocal in justifying only some choices.
You guys provide plenty of transparency about many things you do, with the best example being the intentional interactions concerning Naga Sea Witch. We love it when you guys talk to us about choices you make that impact the whole of the Hearthstone environment.
Would love to hear what others think about this. Thank you for reading, whoever you are.

You answered your own question in regards to why Inspire was never revisited. Discover returned because Discover was a successful mechanic - Inspire has yet to return (and may never return, who knows) because the mechanic was a failure. Why iterate on something that didn't work to try and fix it when you can introduce new mechanics that might work better? In regards to tribes, sometimes that's just how its going to be. If they keep introducing new tribes - as they have started with Elementals - then to keep providing support for them every expansion eventually there would be no room for anything else. I like Mechs as much as the next guy, but we had an entire rotation of Mech decks - its fine to let that die, and then maybe revisit it in the future when an appropriate theme comes up. Same with Dragons, or with any deck type.I'd much rather they make what they want to make than feel like they have to meet a quota of X Inspire minions and X Mechs per expansion or rotation. -

derekmshaw posted a message on Just do it!!!Posted in: General Discussioni'd rather concede as soon as I see lethal than let someone play out their combo. At that point, I could care less about seeing a cool combo (which I probably have seen countless times before), and I just want to get on to the next game, or just want to get out of the app because I'm tilted.
If I have lethal I'll go for the quick kill unless I have a quest that I can complete by playing some additional cards.

Seagull0 posted a message on New Warlock Hero Coming Soon - Nemsy Necrofizzle, the Gnome!Posted in: NewsBlizzard is actually making us literally their publishers and agents: Promoting their own game in public location just for us to get a warlock hero skin (which I also desperately want btw (using our own desires to make them more money without having to do anything but to create the warlock skin itself and creating a system that automatically gives them out to the "gatherings")).
I'm not gonna do this unless I get paid lol
Seriously guys, if you don't get it, all they did is create the hero and made up a system that automatically gives the hero away. Even people at minor jobs at hearthstone don't work that hard (not to mention they get paid rofl)

blackfyre14 posted a message on Game etiquettePosted in: General DiscussionAuto-squelching for me is like putting my seat belt on. To the point where several times during the KFT PvE content I tried to squelch the AI at the start of the game.
TL;DR: Don't emote "well played" (or anything else really) when you're about to win the game unless the other player did it first. That is if you're at all concerned about trying to be generally nice to someone who didn't do anything to you.
This is something a lot of people who haven't played competitive games before miss. It's really frowned upon at the higher ranks, and since that's where you're likely to get matched against the same person again a lot of players will BM the piss out of someone who "well played" them when winning.

Don't forget blizzard has no idea what they're doing lol

Why? Do you think you're helping them? Instead of just climbing away from the newb/noob ranks you're instead staying in it and being paired against more inexperienced players. They're not getting any better when you concede, they didn't learn anything. You're wasting your time, that's what I think about it.

Does anyone know if they refer to some study of their target audience interests? I've noticed a remarkable convergence of themes being presented in Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone expansions. Yes, currently pirates and dinosaurs are the thing in MtG. And before that there were many other instances of the same themes being brought to the spotlight. Back in Black Rock Mountain the magic lore was in the plane where dragons play a major role, to mention one.
So it seems pretty certain that both companies are drinking from the same fountain in terms of "inspiration". Does anyone have any information on this?

If you're having trouble at rank 20 you seriously need to watch the basic "trump teachings" playlists on youtube. You should learn the basic concepts that will allow you to improve really fast.

At this point people should've learned the lesson already. If a player gets massively voted he just loses right away... except if he's Kolento, because you know, Kolento.
Randomly picked orange and got away with it. Nice.

Fiiiiinally. It only took like 4 years + to release the actual rules to your game, well done small indie company.
Now we're only missing replays and HS will be on par with any random virtual CCG that came out yesterday.

Good ol' days alextraza intro gromash + death's bite deathrattle backed up by the tank up hero power. Those were the days.

Wild is easier. Probably because the most skilled players like standard better. So especially for newer players it can be very convenient to play wild, even if the don't have rotated cards.

Oh right, because the USA isn't a role model for most countries in the World, right? It's not like we living in South America dream of having social order anywhere close to USA. Maybe if you're living in some European self-loathing country you'd rather be assimilated by other cultures and cease existing because you have it all too easy and life doesn't seem interesting enough. But most of the World would love to live in a country where individual liberty is valued above all else.
