I don't think the problem is the decklist in itself but rather the thing that most players now have adapted to every kind of Hunter scenario and Decklist which means that nowadays Hunter no longer have the huge win ratio they used to had when Naxx was released.
Right now most decks are able to deal with your early threats and can shut down Undertaker and other early minions which will bring you to run out of steam pretty fast and force you to rely on topdecks or hero power by turn 4.
With Priest and Warrior highly populating ranks 5 to 10 (EU server from my experience) you will have hard time to keep pushing high with Hunter decks. Off course you can have a good run with it, especially if they have no answer to your Undertaker but overall it will get harder once you start getting above Rank 10, even more when you're at Rank 5.
I think Hunter is still good to ladder quickly when the season reset but you might consider playing something slower but with overall better MU than Hunter once you reach Rank 10 or a bit higher.

Let's just look at what this minion ought to cost.
BASE MINION: 7/7 minion - 7 mana (War Golem)
DRAW FEATURE: Draw 3 cards - 4.5 mana (Arcane Intellect)
DRAWN MINIONS FEATURE: Free minions into the battlefield - 6 mana - if a Warrior deck is 50% minions, the average minion mana cost is 4 then on average the value of this feature is .5*3*4 or 6
My admittedly crude math puts the value of this card at 17.5 mana. But it only costs 10 mana.

Because some people value content directed just at class forums. Aviana + Icehowl might actually be a nice hard removal play for Druids. It also creates a tough choice for opponents on their following turn. Do I take out the 10 attack wrecking ball or the legendary that might result in numerous big minions dropped on me next turn?

Seems to me Astral Communion should yield 2 Excess Mana at least if played when the player has 10 mana already. Wild Growth, a 2 mana card, grants 1 Excess Mana. Stands to reason a 4 mana card ought to yield 2 Excess Mana.
