I suspect this did change at some point - I'm 99% certain that freezing Swamp King Dred used to protect you from his smashing your minions to pieces. Of course, since I'm about the only one I've ever seen use him... I know that the DH 8/8 that attacks after your hero does still punch you in the face if frozen.

shad0wseek3r posted a message on Waking up to Trump.Posted in: General DiscussionNew youtube algorithm, if you explicitly watch Trump, your autoplay will almost always recommend him.
I've got problems because of that new shit, if you click on any video by mistake that you dont want to watch , youll get shit-ton of "related" videos as result and it will flood your feed with garbage.

Kedalin posted a message on Illidari InquisitorPosted in: General DiscussionThe thing is absurd, and the counterplay barely works. I was playing a Taunt Druid for a while, which often has several beefy taunts on the board at once. Didn't matter -- it just cleared them and stayed alive for the next turn. No hard removal and no Rush in hand meant that I was screwed.
Also played a bit of Wildfire/Freeze Mage. I know it's not a good deck, but I was having fun. Inquisitor came out and blasted my face on the opponent's turn. Okay, fine, I've got a Brain Freeze, I'll just shut him down until I can deal with him.
Oh, what's that? It's a Frozen minion who attacks anyway, even though that's never been how Freeze works in any case ever in the history of Hearthstone? Interesting. Very balanced. Balanced and interesting and not at all problematic for a discountable non-Legendary effect that will be around for an entire year.

Shadowrisen posted a message on If Mage dies, Control warrior will probably take overPosted in: General DiscussionMan, I was just watching the latest Clark Hellscream video where he does a tier list of all the "most degenerate" decks in the history of Hearthstone. Holy crud, what an example of recent event bias!!!
I understand that it's meant to be an entertaining vid and also I get that comparing decks from totally different time periods in the game is difficult, but some of the comparisons made are just absolute bat shit crazy. His top of the top "SS tier" decks are somewhat reasonable, but then you see last-meta weapon rogue in the same tier as pre-nerf Quest rogue, pre-nerf Barnes rez Priest, and NAGA SEA WITCH GIANTS LOCK???
Lunacy mage is only one tier below all that, sitting next to Midrange Shaman (a deck that had literally zero unfavorable matchups . . . there was nothing anyone managed to make with a consistent >50% winrate against it) and the pre-nerf Cube Lock.
Apparently the original Warsong Commander / Grim Patron warrior was less degenerate than current-day Lunacy Mage and last-meta Weapon Rogue. I like Clark Hellscream and his content (when he isn't platforming Zeddy), but that list smacked of short memory and bias toward current issues. Honestly, I think it's a microcosm of a lot of what goes on in this orum.

TheSpunYarn posted a message on Is devolving missiles a problem for anyone else?Posted in: General DiscussionI think that Devolving Missiles is a powerful card. One that is almost without argument: too powerful to be 1 mana. However, even at its incredible power level, I don't think it's "problematic". 2.5 classes (Wand Thief gives Rogue access to this as well) being able to counter taunts and other on-board threats with Devolving is fine imo. It's punishing early, but I don't think I've ever lost a game to a Devolving, and I play primarily aggro-midrange. If on turn 3 my opponent, for instance a Mage, commits to Devolving + Hero Power, they haven't actually developed on board and I can just play more minions to threaten them with. It's usually fine.
I think we're not in a state of the game where it's problematic, but I think it could be. If I were to change it at all, I'd make it 2 mana simply to deny random generation off of Wandmaker, as well as clean turn 3 removals with Mage Hero Power or Rogue Daggers. Presently, since we're looking at incoming nerfs, I'd give it time. If Watch Posts become more and more common, Devolving will be a valuable counter for all genres of Mage or Shaman decks who want to play. Far Watch Post is brutal, especially if there's a pair of em. Efficiently removing them? I'd say somebody should be able to do it.

Baldassar posted a message on Do you ever just feel bad about a play?Posted in: General DiscussionGot a 21 power turn 1 with Gibberling Druid once. It filt a little dirty.
The dirtiest however is when I get a ridiculous discover in the Arena. One that the opponent had no reason to play around.

Pizzacats posted a message on Do you ever just feel bad about a play?Posted in: General Discussionwhile I’ve had a lot of those over time, more recently, in wild mill rogue, I’ve had some filthy plays with scabbs cutterbutter and far watch posts. Watch post on 1 with coin, prize vendor on 2, coldlight oracle + shadowstep on 3, preparation + cutterbutter + brann + oracle + togwaggle’s scheme on 4. Conceded after that.
Just reading that gave me a bad taste in my mouth lol
Lol yeah, I felt pretty gross even typing it.

SlydE posted a message on I hate how mage has become the casino classPosted in: General DiscussionIt started already a long time ago, but now they seem to have gone even more all in on those random spells and minions.
I do not like it either, and Evolve mechanics are just as bad imo.

TyrantrumRex posted a message on Do you find this game too expensive?Posted in: General DiscussionYou can go to the food bank to get free food... You can go to The Keg, and have a $100 steak dinner. Both can provide a hearty dinner.
A person standing in the food bank line demanding a filet mignon from the clerk deserves a snack upside the head.
Hearthstone is dinner. You can eat steak, or you can eat canned beans. If you don't like beans, get a better job, or go find food somewhere else.

Innocent until proven guilty is the law. If you think trial by emotional knee jerk reactions is good I urge you to study puritan trials and let me know how fair you think those were. Spare me your moral high ground nonsense, this is the real world, and in the real world the presumption of innocence is what separates us from the people who burned "witches" at the stake.

Accusations are not proof, just because things are alleged to have happened does not mean they did. The fact that the state is taking the case and not some lawyer looking for a fat payout is weird, could very well mean the case is weak. But until the court has ruled on the matter, these actions are nonsensical. Not to mention they don't even accomplish their apparent goal.

Why did people down vote this, he's 100% correct.

Why not do the card reveal AND bring attention to this. Seems like a missed opportunity. Doesn't make sense to punish the fans and pass up a chance to get more eyes on the potential issue.

Can't wait to get hit with a 4 mana 9/9 😑

What's cringe is your lack of contextual awareness. I'm put the last part in so this didn't get filed away as a salt thread. If I hadn't people would have spammed me with "lulz git gud nub"
People don't typically play "fun" decks on ladder. As a mage main I find the deck detestable and I hate that it has become the identity of the class. When you relegate a deck to RNG clown fiesta nonsense you relinquish some level of control as to the outcome of your game which is why I hate the deck but also why it confuses me that it's so popular. It only performs well against 1 class and there's better things to play that are both fun and more well rounded. The deck itself is one dimensional in that there's almost no difference from one spell mage deck to another outside of including deck of lunacy or not. Some people find the deck fun, I think it's boring, and giving up control of the outcome of the game to hearthstone RNG is just boring.
Ps: I’m not a try hard, I’m not even running a meta deck right now. I can’t imagine how someone could think they’re original or “playing for fun” by just playing the same deck everyone else is playing.

It made sense back when the deck was good with deck of lunacy pre nerf but now the deck is not that great, basically like mid to low tier 3. Despite this though the deck makes up close to 40% of my matches. Is it like this for other people or is my ladder just weird? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad deck this popular before. I wouldn’t mind it so much if the deck wasn’t so boring to play against. It’s almost as annoying as priest when they just sit there trying to RNG something out of this air. How is this deck more common for me than elemental shaman? I crap on both decks but I just find this confusing.

Anyone else have things that just make you say, “today isn’t the day,” and just log out for a bit? For me it’s when I have lethal and I’m just waiting for my opponent’s turn to end and they pull a Hail Mary out of their butt. Like stars aligning, once in a blue moon type stuff. I see that and I won’t log in for a day or 2, just to get away from that kind of bad luck. I’d rather lose on turn 2 than have the rug pulled out from under me when I’m that close. Extra points if it’s the rank up win I needed.

It is elitist. You’re assuming people in lower ranks are simply mediocre. While some are, Climbing takes time and not everyone dedicates that kind of time to the game. So they could be good deck pilots but simply limited ones. There’s also the F2P players to consider who are gonna be limited in what decks they can play. Balancing everything around 5% of the client base leaves the game to die. This is something tryhards and elitists don’t understand. There has to be a middle ground.
