The battlecry directly cannot hurt the enemy hero, but the hero isnt immune.
If a battlecry summons a minion that attacks face, this still works.
If the battlecry casts a spell, this can still hurt the hero.
Kalimos primal lord works, because he casts elemental invocations, which doesnt count as his battlecry.
One way to think about it is: If the minion with the battlecry had lifesteal, would it heal you off the damage? If not, then it doesnt count as the battlecry doing the damage.
The art of that particular card is odd. It's a Night Elf in how their skin and hair looks, but they have blue eyes, which is strictly a High Elf thing. I'm going to just assume that this is all just the broadest swath of characters they could come up with that still relatively adhered to the Alliance/Stormwind vibe of the original dudes.
And another thing that might influence it: the WoW race/class combos have been getting extended where they basically want every race to be able to be every class. They are doing this class by class, and a bunch of them have already been done, including Warlock, which got a special Questline for it to explain how the holiest of holy Lightforged Draenei were now suddenly possible to become Warlocks, despite that obv clashing with their usual nature.
So it is very likely that Night Elf Paladins are a thing sooner rather than later, even in WoW.
a lot of decks right now "do nothing" on their turns except building up or removing the minions you put down. If you get a slight early lead you can easily put this down, and if you then have big rush or lifesteal minions to throw down, you will have a massive advantage.

No interaction if they draw the right cards.

Died on turn 5 to this:
Shaman:
Turn 3: wand maker.
Turn 4: Flash of lightning:
Turn 5: Kobold geomancer + Novice Sapper + Novice Sapper + Lightning bolt + lightning bolt + lightning bolt(created by wandmaker) + thrall's gift into lightning bolt + Crash of Thunder + Crash of Thunder.
36 damage from hand.
Fun and interactive.

The solitaire has never been stronger.
Just get a specific combo off by turn 6 and win.
