posted a message on 17.0.2 Balance Patch - DH Nerfs and Millhouse Changes - Now Live!

Unpopular opinion: I like the nerfs. They did not kill a single card (well except for Bloodbloom) and that was their goal as they told many times.

For standard cards, I think nerfs should look like this:

Sacrificial Pact - 1 mana, sacrifice friendly demon. Restore 7 health.

Battlefiend after your hero attacks, gain 1 attack this turn

Altruis the Outcast deal dmg to minions only

Kael'thas Sunstrider the third spell you cast cost 0

Skull of Gul'dan 6 mana, draw 3, outcast draw 4

Bad Luck Albatross 4 mana 3/2 battlecry and deathrattle: shuffle 1 albatross to opponent's deck

frienzied felwing every time enemy hero receives damage, decrease cost by 1 this turn

Satyr Overseer 3/3 after this minion attacks, summon satyr 2/2

That would straight up be a buff to Satyr Overseer. I agree with your other suggestions though. (Maybe Albatross is a bit overdone too)

And why nerf Bloodbloom instead of Darkest hour? Bloodbloom it was never a toxic card since they printed darkest hour.

It's the accelerator of the deck. And you won't kill the deck when you just nerf this card. It's just way less oppressive.

Same goes for Open the Waygate. I think they bumb up the cards you need to play to something like 8. That is a big deal.

I find it confusing, especially for new players. It would make sense to kill treants, but because they do not have a tag yet it doesnt count.

I think blizzard should give all treants a tag.

Priestess of fury is beyond op, everybody agrees with that right? So I'm glad there is some op answer to it. Dh has 1 mana hero power, that's op. He has op 1 and 2 drops. Yes it is fair for warlock to have some op heal spell otherwise control warlock would be unplayable.

I agree the design of sac pact should be changed but then dh (and not only dh)  needs more nerfs

Unpopular opinion: Priestess is only OP when cheated out early (turn 5 following Raging Felscreamer) or heavily discounted via Skull of Guldan which allow you to play her along with something else.

If you pay the full 7 mana cost for her, she's strong, REALLY strong in most cases... but not "OP". 7-drops and above are supposed to be game-winningly powerful.

If the board state on turn 7 is favorable for your DH opponent for a Priestess play, and you have no hard removal in hand, and he's threatening lethal next turn then yes, it's basically an insta-win for him. AS IT SHOULD.

You are right. I cut Priestess from my DH decks as she is way to slow and Warlocks are just waiting to use Sac Pact on her.

Why not lowering the curve? You improve your winrate a lot against Warlocks and bfore you rarely needed her against the other classes. The exception is Highlander DH, but that deck is just  balanced.

    I see his point.

I made some changes to my list, because i drew Patches way too often, as well as Happy Ghouls didn't perform that well. Maybe it's interesting for you/others as well.

I'm currently trying 1 Cobalt Spellkin, but i can even imagine to put a Chief Inspector in, just to counter Quest Mages and/or Secret Mages. Hunters are collateral damage. :D

This way you also have enough 1 drops to combo with Altruis the Outcast and ensure to have a good opening hand.

BTW: Hench-Clan Thug is really good with Warglaives of Azzinoth.

posted a message on Blizzard should buff all Prime cards

I think they are balanced (much more usable than most quests) and will see play, mostly in highlander decks or (worst case) after next years rotation. Just be a bit patient.

But i think some are really strong. Like the rogue, warrior, druid, mage, paladin or warlock ones.

The Hunter prime has potential, but is kinda mediocre just like the priest one.

The only one that's just bad is the shaman-prime.

Interesting list, but if anyone is struggling i'm advising this Version:

I have a lot of success using Mana Burn instead of Glacial Shard denying powerturns like Reno Jackson or Priestess of Fury for my opponent while just freezing won't do the trick for me.

I found Metamorphosis more useful than Leeroy Jenkins, because you can just shoot taunts out of the way or hit face through taunts which seems to happens a lot in this meta for me.

Because we have quite some heal i play 2 Happy Ghoul instead of Tar Creeper (why a defensive card?) and Altruis the Outcast. It is often a 0 Mana 3/3 that can really help to establish a board early and snowball the game from this point, while the other two do fit only niche roles (you do not have a lot of activators for Altruis without the 0 Mana Slices).

Last but not least due to the synergy between Satyr Overseer and Warglaives of Azzinoth i use them instead of the Cobalt Spellkin. As a side effect you can remove almost every board from your opponent and hit face with your minions.

is this new meta going to be a four month of demo hunter?

Not really, there are plenty of decks that do well, now that the nerfs are online.

Odd Demon Huntr was just one of the stupidest thing that has ever happened. I'd say it was even stronger than Undertaker Hunter.
