. Its a combo deck that takes skill to play.
Stop this bs.

In Standard, Genn is limited to three classes. Even Shaman made sense because Eel is a great card. But Shaman doesn't really have that many ways to capitalize on a wide board. Only the Giants. No Bloodlust. And with the nerf to Flametounge, Even Shaman isn't going to be in a good spot. Even Paladin seems to find a way to win. But is it really because of the one-mana HP? The current builds of Even Paladin feature no cards that have synergy with the 1/1's. How valuable is a one-mana 1/1? Stats show Trump's Midrange Paladin, which runs C2A, Lynessa, and the DK to be just as good, if not better. And Even Paladin is losing Equality which was useful to combo with Avenging Wrath for lethal. It too is taking a hit. Finally there is Even Warlock, which can tap on one and two and play a giant on three when it has the coin. The Warlock HP is probably the strongest in the game, so reducing it's cost could potentially tip it over the edge. But Even Warlock has never been oppressive. It kind of just rolls over and dies against aggressive Hunters, for example. And after rotation comes, it may disappear altogether as many of it's core cards are going away.
Baku is trickier. The upgraded HP is strong in at least three classes. And after the nerfs, I expect Odd Mage in it's Secret and/or Control form to be a thing. So let's say four. Hero Powering shouldn't be a cornerstone to a deck, so I think Baku is a more concerning card than Genn. Only one of these decks is actually Tier 1 (Odd Paladin). Odd Warrior is only good against aggressive decks, but it's bad matchups are mega bad. Odd Rogue will still be a thing, but it's taking a hit too. We don't know how good the Odd Mage decks will be.
Genn and Baku have less reason to be played in Wild than in Standard. Yes, there is a wider pool of cards, but the discounted/upgraded hero powers are pale in comparison to the general power level of the best Wild decks. There is no Even Paladin in the Wild. Odd Paladin is still viable, but isn't the Aggro-Giants build just better? Playing Thekel and a Mountain Giant or two on turn three is just game winning. And even if the combo doesn't come off right away, Aggro Paladin has so many other good tools - sticky minions like Minibot, Egg, and Creeper are difficult for many classes to deal with.
More importantly - it's Wild. Which has NEVER been balanced, and NEVER will be balanced. People said just nerf NSW-Giants and Wild will be great. And then SAD came along. Nerf that. Fine. Now KR is a problem. Nerf that. Great. Big Priest can now feast. Nerf that, and Reno decks will have a ball. There are two many broken cards in the game, and having access to ALL of them makes the broken decks even more broken. As time goes on, this is only going to increase. Baku and Genn are just side effects of the real problem - Wild is doomed.
I dont think its about getting a extra 1/1 for 1 mana, genn makes it very easy to have a perfect curve throughout the whole game, the point is that its mana efficient.
also I dont think it matters if odd rogues are the best deck right now, the problem is that this one card can go into a lot of decks and make them much more powerful. and some cards are getting nerfed because of these two cards, and they nerf cards differently because of these two cards.
and they limit design space a lot, a LOT. so they are a problem, its not about this exact meta, and how these specific even/odd decks are preforming, or how they will change.
they are so powerful because it makes your hero power about the same power level as a card, but you can use it every single turn, providing lots of extra steam.
WUT cards are getting nerfed because of Baku/Genn? Equality? It has been and still is an auto include in EVERY non-aggro Paladin deck since the beginning of the game. Cold Blood? It's been a staple for Rogue forever. Many cards in the classic set are going to be nerfed or HOF'ed this year. This is just the beginning. It has NOTHING to do with Genn/Baku.
Five classes have NO reason to use Baku. Odd Druid/Priest/Shaman/Warlock are total memes. Odd Hunter is just bad compared to other Hunter decks and other aggressive decks.
If we take the position that enhanced HP is bad, than EVERY DK is bad as well. And throw in Warrior's Quest. If you are going to complain, at least be fair.

Paladin can stall still turn 6 in most case so I dont really see the problem. Turn 6 you more likely draw your pyro than turn 4 anyway
I agree with this. I don't get why people are freaking out over this nerf. 6 mana board clear is still very, very strong.
It is very strong when you spend only one card, 6 manas 2 cards combo for a board clear sucks, this card was killed and never will see play again like warrior axe.
3 manas will be a serious hit but the card can survive, 4 manas is far beyond you can pay for a setup card.
Old equality + consecration? Two card combo, check, 6 mana to pull off, check, people still played it? Check.
This nerf will do nothing except make paladins early game survival slightly weaker, that's all.

How is Genn Greymane balanced and Baku is not? It's the same shit, if you ask me. Genn is ridiculously OP for shaman as it allows them to get Thing from Below out a lot quicker as well as Sea Giant in most cases. Being able to pump out totems pretty much every turn also benefits Flametongue Totem and Draenei Totemcarver a lot as well.
Genn is also really strong for warlocks and, to some extent, paladins.

I never said Mecha'thun decks run Barnes, did I?
What makes you think that devs does not care about wild? Wild is a part of the game just as much as standard is.

...Where's the nerf to Barnes tho??
The "Big Priest" deck (and mecha'thun decks for that matter) are honestly what ruins this game the most, in my opinion.
