attack on titan could've been nr. one if (MAJOR SPOILER ALERT) it didnt have the stupid plot twist that titans only exist on one island and the rest of the world is in the second world war.
full metal alchemist, one punch man and bezerk are honorable mentions

agon_EU posted a message on Are rank 5 players as good as Legend players ?Posted in: General DiscussionWell in all honesty the rank of a player doesn't always represent the player's skill.
Hearthstone isn't that difficult once you reach a certain level of knowledge. The rest is all about picking the right deck at the right time, RNG and grind.

Fortheye posted a message on Hamilton Chu, Hearthstone's Executive Producer, Also Leaves Blizzard EntertainmentPosted in: NewsI have to imagine this means that the data shows, without much doubt, that hearthstone's playerbase is shrinking. The game certainly won't die anytime soon, it's still by far the biggest digital CCG, but it says that they need to make changes or continue to lose players.
I've said this before, up until now hearthstone has largely copied mtg on everything. Even most 'new' mechanics (lifesteal, echo, rush, even the worgen 2 forms of a card thing they just added) have been around in mtg for years. The randomness was the only thing that hearthstone had that was different. The issue is, they didn't have any of the blocking, countering, graveyard, scying, etc that made mtg such a complex game. As much as those mechanics exist in hearthstone, they only exist in a much simplified, and usually random form.
Hearthstone will need to continue to make changes. The quest mechanic was great, and the hero cards were significantly different than planeswalkers. But why are those largely expansion specific? If you find a mechanic that people react positively to, why don't you keep supporting it? Heck, people still bring up inspire as something they liked and blizzard still doesn't touch it.
That and the fact that mtg releases 3 sets a year that are about twice the size of hearthstones, giving players so many more cards and tools to play around with. I hope the new people realize all that and don't just try to milk the game until it's completely dry. Not that I think any of these people leaving were bad, I just think the direction needs to change a little.
Sorry for the text wall :P

Leaga posted a message on Top Five Highest Win-Rate Witchwood DecksPosted in: NewsTo all those complaining about how few Witchwood cards are in these decks:
First, one of these only runs one new card and yet is a completely new style of deck. Never have we been able to flood the board the way odd paladin does. One new card spawned an entire archetype and revived cards that haven't seen meta play since beta (ie Sword of Justice, Stormwind Champion). That's a much bigger impact than you are giving it credit for.
Second, of course mostly refined decks that only sub a few new cards are going to be top for the first weekend because, and lets see if you can track the logic on this, the decks are already mostly refined. Just because these are the best decks for the first few days does not mean they are the best decks. It means that they were the easiest to optimize. Which totally makes sense if you think critically for 5 freakin seconds. A deck with a lot of new cards needs a lot of experimenting and refinement before it will perform well. A deck without a lot of new cards doesn't. Shocker.
Third, lets look at some cards that haven't seen meta play in the last year and are in the above lists because of WW: Mindbreaker, (post-nerf) Bonemare, Psychic Scream in Spiteful Priest, Tortollan Shellraiser, Archmage Antonidas in a non-combo deck, Breath of Sindragosa, Ironbeak Owl, Blessing of Might, Light's Justice, and the aforementioned Sword of Justice and Stormwind Champion. Most of those aren't just in the lists because of rotation. They are meta calls adapting to the strengths of the new decks.
The above decks "only" containing 10 new cards is the worst measuring stick for the impact WItchwood has had over the last 4 days. Think critically for a minute and you might be able to figure that out for yourself.
