posted a message on Post WC Miniset Meta Predictions!

Aggro Shaman and Elemental Shaman have a slight chance to move to tier 3.  Control Warrior also gets stronger.  Freeze Mage could be a thing?  If a reliable win condition is found.

    Paladin is still S-tier

posted a message on All of Paladin's power are in the expansions

Having faced an endless stream of Paladins on ladder I decided to look at the card sets for standard and I noticed that Paladin's core set is actually pretty weak.  The core set only contains three cards (all secrets) that are being regularly played on ladder right now.  Literally all of Paladin's power lies in the four expansion sets that are currently in standard.  Each set has supported the three main archetypes that paladin currently has.

    Outland: Libram

    Scholomance + Darkmoon: Aggro

    Barrens: Secret

The issue as I see it is that in the current meta Paladin has access to three separate pools of really powerful cards.  And since most of them are tempo cards, they can be mixed and matched (secret libram for example) to create decks that are totally busted.  No other class has the ability to do this.  Take Shaman for example.  They have cards that support murlocs, elementals, spell power, and aggro, but none of the cards really work together as a mix + match, let alone as a specific archetype.

All that being said IMO blizzard has to do a better job of balancing in the future to ensure that more of Paladin's core cards see some amount of play.  I'm not sure exactly how they will do that, but otherwise paladin's power will continue to rely heavily on expansion cards and we may be in for another two years of Paladinstone.

Really good in an elemental deck.  Decent even in a non elemental deck if you run cagematch custodian.

Dumpster legend means nothing. people play experimental trash decks.  Easy to win.

posted a message on Balance Changes Coming Next Week - Mage, Paladin, Rogue & Neutral

I think they will nerf Paladin hard.  Like the way Galakrond Shaman was nerfed.  Currently both paladin archetypes have a +60% win rate on HSreplay.

Sword of. the fallen - 2 mana 1/2

Aldor Attendant - 2 mana 2/3 (same as the original unbuffed version)

First Day of School - 1 mana

Deck of Lunacy - 5 mana

    Jandice Barov - 6 mana

Pen Flinger - targets minions only

Rogue has a lot of cheap spells so this can work in conjunction with Wild Pyromancer for a 6-7 mana board wipe.

posted a message on Anyone else think Lackeys are overrated?

Some lackeys are better than others but in general, the battlecry effects are worth between 1.5 to 2 mana.  The 1/1 body attached to it makes every lackey extremely under-costed.  Miscreant is still insanely efficient even after the nerf.

posted a message on Deathstalker Rexaar and the price that hunter will pay.

First off let me just say that I was an avid hunter player. Hunter was the first class that I ever hit legend with.  But I  will not miss Deathstalker Rexaar.  Due to the sheer dominance of that single card, winning games it has no business winning, I'm going to guess that Blizzard is going to take the axe to the hunter class for a long time.  If it happens, it will be unfortunate, but I can't say that I would be all that surprised.  Blizzard has done this before.  Look what happened to Midrange Shaman in 2016/2017.  It dominated for well over a year and because of that, Shaman's power level has been paying for it ever since.

Maybe it's for the best though.  Time to give some other middling classes, like Mage, which has never seen an overpowering archetype a chance to shine.

    What do you guys think?

posted a message on Control Shaman [Hunter Slayer]

Took this deck for a spin and went 1-4, going from Legend rank 950 to 1200 in the process.

There are two fundamental problems with the deck:

    1) This is a midrange shaman, and not even close to being control.

    2) While it may be okay against spell hunter, deathrattle hunter and midrange hunter will obliterate this deck.

posted a message on Finders Keepers

This is a perfect late game card for control shaman.  Discover an Elemental Destruction, blow up the opponent's board, and play the 5-mana 10/10.

A Deathwing like effect without tossing your whole hand.  Also in a pinch control shaman can always use more AOE.
