Lady Deathwhisper Boss Guide - The Lower Citadel
The third and final boss of the Lower Citadel you'll encounter is Lady Deathwhisper. You've got Valithria Dreamwalker on your side who is in need of your help! Help her and you'll win.
Fight Details
Lady Deathwhisper has a huge effective health pool with her base 30 health and 90 armor. You're equipped with Valithria Dreamwalker who has an incredible 30 attack! The downside? She needs to be at full health in order to dish out damage, and Lady Deathwhisper's Whisper of Death hero power is not going to make that fun.
So what are we going to do? We're definitely going to play with heals to ensure we can smack that Deathwhisper in the face with our dragon friend. We've been having fun with Priest. Casting Silence on Dreamwalker allows her to always attack so you don't have to worry about ensuring she is at full health. Priest also has lots of low-cost heals which brings her right up to full such as Circle of Healing, Flash Heal, and Binding Heal. Throw a Northshire Cleric into the mix and you got a healing stew, baby!
Things to Remember
- Deathwhisper's Hero Power is always cast at the start of her turn.
- Since Deathwhisper is having fun with the captive Emerald Dragon, she won't be attacked by the enemy as long as she is damaged.
- If you're going to Silence Valithria, make sure she isn't going to die to an enemy board since her special effect is now gone.
Rewards
Upon completing this boss, and thus the Lower Citadel wing of this adventure, you will be given one Frozen Throne card pack. Enjoy!

Trivia
- In World of Warcraft, Lady Deathwhisper is the second boss of the Icecrown Citadel raid.
- The stolen dragon Valithria Dreamwalker, is the first boss of the Frost Wing of Icecrown Citadel.
- This fight is quite close to how both the Deathwhisper and Valithria fights were in WoW.
- Deathwhisper had a huge shield (armor) that needed to be defeated before you could attack her.
- Valithria required your raid to fully heal her in order to win the fight. Waves of enemies would attack her.
- Upon losing all her armor, The Lich King pops up and states she should have put an Arcane Explosion in her deck.

Back in the day, Deathwhisper was kind of a challenge. Now she dies to Baku Priest almost as quickly as Illhoof dies to Defile.
Here's my Year of the Raven Priest deck. I got lucky on the first go around and ended up with 2 dragons (Vivid Nightmare), one of which was silenced (Silence). Did not take long after that.
Protip: Mindbreaker doesn't work on Lady Deathwhisper's hero power.
I won first try using 2 blessed champion to get the attack to 120 then equality/consecration to board clear and it sets all minions health to one. Filled my deck with cards that cycle to get them in hand faster. (Also when you play equality she says "that's not as smart of a move as you think it is" hahaha)
All I did was:
Turn 1- binding heal > attack (30dmg)
Turn 2 - silnce > attak (30dmg) [let her kill dreamwalker]
Turn 3 - shadow vision into resurrect (0dmg)
Turn 4 - resurrect x 2
Turn 5 - Cirlce of healing > attack with both dreamwalker (60dmg)
I did get lucky with the right cards on my second play through and that she didn't play any taunt minions.
This omg this. Just use 2x Ancestoral Healing + a windfury than reset till you get them. Makes it outrageously easy (with a little luck but lets be fair this campaign is mostly luck)
This deck doesn't need any premade decks or much dust for an EZ win. Just pick priest, put in all restore health cards you can like circle of healing, binding heal, voodoo healer, gadgetzan socialite, earthen ring farseer and/or some more expensive ones and you'll be set. It should go something like, turn 1 circle of healing attack, turn 2 binding heal attack, turn 3 voodoo healer + hero power attack, turn 4 socialite + hero power and attack for the kill.
With healing cards as the basis, add some shadow word pains/deaths to remove taunts. Radiant elementals and potion of madness might also help a bit and shadow visions also improves consistency but it's in no way necessary. Silence is also solid as a finisher but since you can only use it for the killing blow without risking Valithria dying it's not insane (although it could also help in removing taunts). In general don't bother with removing anything that's not a taunt and just SMOrc her down.
Overall if you have enough restore health cards (which thankfully most of them are common) it should end in around 4-6 turns.
Maybe not the best class but Hunter's Mark works
I did not have all the above cards and had to replace 5. I added 2 cards that I thought might be useful due to LD's Hero Power which were Grim Patron. Took me two tries to beat her. It seems like her minions like to go after the damaged 3/1 but will leave the new 3/3 alone which gives you a new 3/3 every round.
...I feel so dirty, but I cheesed this boss with Exodia Paladin.
C'thun mill rogue was super strong. I did not run any taunts because all the good taunts in mill rogue kind of suck in this fight, but with 5 c'thuns and fatigue damage I was able to make it. It is kind of hilarious to just pass for 5 turns when she has no cards left and just watch her die.
Also I Put the dragon out of it's misery, but I made sure to avenge it by making deathwhisper super miserable.
Won with Jade Druid for 1st and 3rd boss.
Won with Weapon Warrior for 2nd boss.
Pretty easy so far. Hopefully they'll up the difficulty for the next 2 wings.
Edit: For this boss, I added Deathwing to prevent her overwhelming me too much.
I started trying this healing deck, but I swapped the two [card]Bilefin Tidehunter[/card] for two [card]Grim Patron[/card]. They never die, and even if your dragon dies, this will be a easy one.
should be worth noting if you play Doomsayer , she will topdeck a Shadow Word: Pain. playing 2 nullifies this
the ez way is just to use priest hero upgraded hero power XD + 4 health ez wild
Beat her with this deck:
Amazing thing is that Equality sets Valithria to full 1 health and activates her.
Managed to beat her on turn four.
Easy win with:
Crazed Alchemist + Divine Spirit + Divine Spirit + Inner Fire = 120 Damage
Stomped her a few times and tuned shammy deck:
LOL, this one is awesome; used a variation and finished in three turns with a top deck:
Turn 1: Ancestral Healing + Earth Shock
Turn 2: (anything)
Turn 3: Windfury
