March of the Lich King: Card List, Release Date, & Expansion Details
Hearthstone's third expansion in the Year of the Hydra is March of the Lich King! The release date for the expansion is Tuesday, December 6th most likely at 10am PST/ 1pm EST/ 19:00 CEST/ 18:00 BST.
The Lich King returns to Hearthstone, leading his Undead army and the new Death Knight class in an all-out assault on the elven city of Silvermoon! The Blood Elves won’t go down easily; they are as thirsty for combat as they are for the magic of the Sunwell that they draw power from. As the Corpses pile up, the Death Knights’ army swells, and so begins the March of the Lich King.

Mini-Set Info
As the Battle for Silvermoon rages on, a massive shadow blots out the sun. To their horror, the Blood Elves see a floating necropolis, Naxxramas, approaching their fair city. This evil entity is unnatural, but something about it feels familiar. They brace themselves and call for help. This is the March of the Lich King Mini-Set, Return to Naxxramas!
Return to Naxxramas unlocks Death Knight’s full potential with the class’s first Location and Colossal cards! But the Lich King isn’t the only one getting support. The Mini-Set also includes all-new Dual-Type minion creations, advanced synergies, and a terrifying new way to win the game!
- Will consist of 4 Legendaries (x1), 1 Epic (x2), 17 Rares (x2), and 16 Commons (x2) -- for a total of 38 new cards.
- Will contain Death Knight’s first Location and Colossal card, Dual-Type minion creations, advanced synergies, and a terrifying new way to win the game!
- Will be released on Tuesday, February 14.
- Normal version of all the mini-set cards can be bought for 2000 Gold or 1500 Runestones and the all-Golden version can be purchased for $69.99 or, for the first time ever, 10,000 Gold.
- The Golden Mini-Set option also includes a bonus Diamond Legendary!

Signature Cards
With the March of the Lich King expansion there's also a new cosmetic quality type coming to Hearthstone, Signature. Much like Golden and Diamond cards, they do not add to the functionality of the card, but are purely cosmetic.
Signature Cards cannot be disenchanted or crafted, but can come from several sources, including as drops from Standard Packs, Class Packs, March of the Lich King Packs, and new March of the Lich King Signature Golden Packs.
To learn about them in more detail, including their drop rates and future looks, read this complete guide on them we did!
Pre-Orders
Once again we have two bundles available. The standard pre-purchase is priced at $49.99, while the Mega bundle is $79.99.
Both bundles are available in the in-game shop and can be purchased up to one week after expansion release.

So...only druid and Paladin got 0 draw cards in set...Druid atleast have much draw already...Sad for me Paladin main...
wa- wait.. what's the deal with Lor'themar Theron normal vs signature? isn't he supposed to be a neutral card? why he has unholy runes in signature version??
Probably just a late night copy pasta error.
Blizzard made a mistake with mocking up the card fro their stream, which is where the graphic came from. He's not a DK card and he won't have a rune restriction on Live. :)
Does Druid really have 4 commons and 2 rares instead of the usual 3/3 split? That's... weird.
Interesting Rune spread out for death knight card in March of the Lich King cards. I would have thought it would be spread out evenly. Maybe they are planning on prioritizing one rune per expansion, and this one turns out to be Blood Rune.
Blood Rune
Triple - 3x
Double - 1x
Single - 2x
Frost Rune
Triple - 0x
Double - 0x
Single - 1x
Unholy Rune
Triple - 0x
Double - 1x
Single - 2x
It is probably also build around the DK core and Arthas cards with Lady Deathwhisper and Marrow Manipulator being triple Frost, Lord Marrowgar, Grave Strength and Plagued Grain being triple Unholy.
The big question is how that will be going forward with only 10 class cards per expansion (2x rune + 4 neutrals?).
I think they will probably go by some theme of expansion focusing on one rune more. You know how they like card packages now
Forecast:
The new meta will be practically only DK Denathrius (because the class is new, strong and this class is op with Denathrius that it is very strong). We will have a meta again where whoever draws Denathrius for first wins.
After the first/second week, Denathrius will be nerfed in the oblivion, and we will have a new meta where DKs will be around 50%.
It is always a circus in circle.
Denathrius will always be a problem the body itself is decent and the effect fits into any deck that runs minions its such a frustrating card to play against.
Honestly Astalor is a more balanced version as you have to play the two previous forms to get the last one and there is a cap on the battlecry damage and it lacks Lifesteal that in itself should tell Blizzard to either place a infuse limit on Denathrius or make the card target minions only.
People say oh it won't be worth playing if its minions only but I'm sorry how is a 10 mana 10/10 lifesteal with pretty much a full heal and board clear effect bad other than vs no minion decks with which there aren't any being ran at the moment...
I agree with you though DK meta will be Denathrius, Theo, Astalor + Brann as win conditions in all DK decks as taking opponents win condition, or playing you own with or without brann will win you an insane amount of games.
I think most DK will be running 1 blood simply for patchwork aswell as mutanis for even more disruption in your opponents deck/hand.
I’ll be running Mutanus, patchwork and Theotar, gotta get that Sire.
So will everyone else hahaha I think the deck I'm most hyped to try out is OTK Arcane Bolt Mage and Elder Nadox Druid typically I like to build unique decks but kinda pointless with Denathrius, Theotard, Mutanus, Patchwork being in standard.
Mutanus and Patchwork are fair cards well maybe patchwork should be a 2 blood rune card but I feel wait and see on that but Theo and Denathrius are complete cancer level cards to the game Theo should just swap a random card in each players hand not let you discover and Denathrius should be minions only it would solve the issue everyone has with the two cards being completely busted but they would still see a some play instead unless HS change them pretty much auto include in every deck until they rotate out which will cause a lot of players to quit as there sick of seeing them.
I thought Patchwerk was a neutral, shoot!
oh god no can you imagen Patchwork in a rogue that runs shadow steps with a brann in the mix along with gravekeeper people would be more salty than they are about that than they are about Denathrius. we would drown in a sea of tears.
Innkeeper fix? at least hide the links advertising the defunct program
oh so its just broken? i tried to install it and couldnt make it synch my cards
Has been broken for a while. It would require a complete rewrite.
ok this will be awesome
I really love all these new mechanics. Dual type minions and corpse system for DK in general, I like it when Hearthstone gets a bit more detailed.
This guide should probably note that Reborn isn't just "returning" -- it is now considered evergreen.
