March of the Lich King: Card List, Release Date, & Expansion Details
Hearthstone's third expansion in the Year of the Hydra is March of the Lich King! The release date for the expansion is Tuesday, December 6th most likely at 10am PST/ 1pm EST/ 19:00 CEST/ 18:00 BST.
The Lich King returns to Hearthstone, leading his Undead army and the new Death Knight class in an all-out assault on the elven city of Silvermoon! The Blood Elves won’t go down easily; they are as thirsty for combat as they are for the magic of the Sunwell that they draw power from. As the Corpses pile up, the Death Knights’ army swells, and so begins the March of the Lich King.

Mini-Set Info
As the Battle for Silvermoon rages on, a massive shadow blots out the sun. To their horror, the Blood Elves see a floating necropolis, Naxxramas, approaching their fair city. This evil entity is unnatural, but something about it feels familiar. They brace themselves and call for help. This is the March of the Lich King Mini-Set, Return to Naxxramas!
Return to Naxxramas unlocks Death Knight’s full potential with the class’s first Location and Colossal cards! But the Lich King isn’t the only one getting support. The Mini-Set also includes all-new Dual-Type minion creations, advanced synergies, and a terrifying new way to win the game!
- Will consist of 4 Legendaries (x1), 1 Epic (x2), 17 Rares (x2), and 16 Commons (x2) -- for a total of 38 new cards.
- Will contain Death Knight’s first Location and Colossal card, Dual-Type minion creations, advanced synergies, and a terrifying new way to win the game!
- Will be released on Tuesday, February 14.
- Normal version of all the mini-set cards can be bought for 2000 Gold or 1500 Runestones and the all-Golden version can be purchased for $69.99 or, for the first time ever, 10,000 Gold.
- The Golden Mini-Set option also includes a bonus Diamond Legendary!

Signature Cards
With the March of the Lich King expansion there's also a new cosmetic quality type coming to Hearthstone, Signature. Much like Golden and Diamond cards, they do not add to the functionality of the card, but are purely cosmetic.
Signature Cards cannot be disenchanted or crafted, but can come from several sources, including as drops from Standard Packs, Class Packs, March of the Lich King Packs, and new March of the Lich King Signature Golden Packs.
To learn about them in more detail, including their drop rates and future looks, read this complete guide on them we did!
Pre-Orders
Once again we have two bundles available. The standard pre-purchase is priced at $49.99, while the Mega bundle is $79.99.
Both bundles are available in the in-game shop and can be purchased up to one week after expansion release.
Standard Bundle - $49.99
- 60 March of the Lich King card packs.

The Cinematics
It does since the beginning of this week, thank you for the idea.
OK, and where is the information about "Path of Arthas" mini-set that's going to be released alongside with this expansion? Also, it would be nice to mention that, unlike previous mini-sets, the cards of this one can't be obtained by opening the expansion packs.
It's not a miniset in the sense of the mid expansion minisets. That one will be released later as well.
Path of Arthas is like the DH Initiate set that added more class cards. Just that it was free unlike the DK set.
Later? Not at the same time as the entire expansion / set / whatever this "March of the Lich King" thing is called?
There are two different things. Path of Arthas is the additional set of DK (and only DK) cards that will be available on launch (in the mega bundle, as a separate purchase or to craft) and then there is the usual mid expansion miniset (like Wailing Caverns, Deadmines, etc.) with cards for all classes.
What cards does it consist of? Why aren't they listed in this article?
Because this one is only for the expansion itself. The additional DK cards can be found in the DK article here (scroll a bit down: https://www.hearthpwn.com/guides/9573-death-knight-hearthstones-11th-class-with-card
So, manathirst work when accessible with the coin or only accessible via permanent mana per say? Explain it correctly please.
I'm sure it'll work exactly the same as Bogbeam
Yeah i bet it will too, they just don't explain it, they say once it's accessible, never used that word so i wondered
what is going on why is there so much text on the cards jesus christ
Please tell me you’re joking.
Please.
You’re not seriously complaining about having to read a single sentence or two are you? Since the card effect is then memorised, you need to do this once or twice. If you are, I don’t think I’ve ever read a more bogus complaint in my whole life.
its too much text
and the fact that i have received a total of 3 upvotes means that everyone else thinks the same way, except for you.
You’re now at -3 and I’m at +3, based on your logic, I’m now right.
those are from accounts you created so that does not count, i am right.
My eight alternate accounts I visit just to downvote your comments?
I'm creating an account just to downvote you, this is too funny lol
You must be 15 or less, right? Holy shit, what a cunt
Can you make it so users can upvote moderator posts? I really appreciate the work y'all do so quickly.
Yo that Shaman 3/2 seeing a bit OP no? 9/6 for 3 mana with not that hard of a requirement, if you build an undead deck.
