Boss Overview
Emperor Thaurissan is the third and final boss in the Blackrock Depths wing of the Blackrock Mountain adventure.
- Emperor Thaurissan starts off with Moira Bronzebeard (Heroic) on the field. This prevents him from using his Hero Power.
Heroic Difficulty Strategy
If you're playing on normal difficulty, the same strategy can be applied, it's just an easier fight!
- Do not kill Moira Bronzebeard. This kills you.
- Aggro decks are really good in this fight as they will quickly overwhelm Thaurissan.
- Watch out for Dark Iron Skulker though, it can wipe your board.
- Watch out for Abomination and Unstable Ghoul, if they aren't silenced or returned to his hand, you're dead.
- Buffing Moira so she has more health is also a viable method of keeping her alive through AoE.

I made it myself passed on second try
I beat it using questing adventurer rogue deck
Anyone try Bolf Ramshield + Eye for an Eye? =D
Eye for an Eye trigger when your hero take damage.
When you have Bolf he will take damage instead so the secret won't trigger
It's a guide to beat heroic Thaurissan, we assume that you've already won against him in normal mode and got the card.
i win with this

Crazed Alchemist was key to my victory. Changing Moira to a 1/3 is essential and I also used Power Word: Shield and healing to keep her alive.
Once she is reduced to dealing 1 damage per turn and is safe from dying this match is pretty easy.
Basic Priest Deck using only 160 dust.
And Ironbeak Owl was not even played for me to win.
I've beaten heroic Emperor Thaurissan in the very first try.
The reason I didn't put some better cards is because I don't have them all.
This deck is hot garbage, avoid at all costs. I think it's a troll or something, it's that bad.
I beat Heroic Thaurissan with a DemonLock deck involving Mal'Ganis and it seems weird to me that Moira Bronzebeard attacked both my Ironbeak Owl and Mal'Ganis himself on separate occasions. Her wording expressly says she only attacks taunt. I realize she's programmed to attack each turn and since you can't target an immune hero that's probably the reason she attacked a minion, but it just seems wrong.

Here is the deck which EASILY beats Emperor Thaurissan! :) It's cheap and fun to play, try out! Video of killing the boss included.
He had a death's bite when I faced him.
Used Cancer Hunter myself. Removed 1 Ironbeak Owl and 1 Haunted Creeper and swapped in both Crazed Alchemists. The absolute must is to pull an alchemist by turn 2 and swap the ..... into a 1/3. Some board control may be necessary as you go along. Save the owl for the abomination, that 2 damage AOE will murder you as he will be dropping 2 Unstable Ghouls during the fight already.
