Scholomance Academy: Card List, Release Date, & Expansion Details

Hearthstone's 2nd expansion in the Year of the Phoenix is Scholomance Academy! The expansion launched on Thursday, August 6th.

Greetings, aspiring adept! We’re thrilled to welcome you to Scholomance Academy! Within the lofty halls of this fabled magic college, the (mostly) good Headmaster Kel’Thuzad and the rest of our faculty are here to guide the next generation of greats, from Warlocks to Warriors and everything between. We encourage the pursuit of double majors and offer a plethora of cross-over studies. Whatever flavor of major you favor, Scholomance has the training grounds to suit your needs!

Scholomance Academy marks the beginning of Phase Two for the Year of the Phoenix. In addition to the usual balance changes, Battlegrounds updates, and Seasonal Events -- Phase Two will also include a Solo Adventure and an all new Game Mode (to be announced at a later date)!

Scholomance Academy Release Date

Scholomance Academy released on Thursday, August 6th , at 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 19:00 CEST/ 18:00 BST, with FREE PvE content to follow (details still to come)!

Expansion Info

Dual Class Cards - Cards featuring mechanics inspired by both classes' strengths. The set will include 40 Dual Class cards.
New Keyword: Spellburst - A one time only effect when casting a spell. With a Spellburst minion or weapon in play, casting a spell will activate the Spellburst effect.
Studies - Spells which allow you to immediately Discover a card and also reduce the mana cost of the next card you play of that type.
The expansion will contain 135 new cards!

All players receive two free copies of Transfer Student -- a Neutral Epic minion available 7/14/20.
PvE content for this expansion will be FREE. Details to follow later.

I thought the same.
And then realised that they may have done it on purpose to avoid people to scroll up to loop back, after checking the "Warlock-Demon Hunter" cards.

Yep, we did it on purpose. Otherwise Demon Hunters have to scroll all the way back and forth to check all their cards.

im opening 340 packs next thursday...and wait for the nerfs to roll in and make another 35k free dust like i did off the last xpan.....in two weeks people will be bored again and bitching. Been this way since closed beta. I never stop laughing.

Good idea but it's not exactly free is it? You must be paying money for 340 packs, especially if you did the same last expansion.

I never stop laughing at people that put so many bucks into a simple card game. You don't even pay for real cards, buying magic/yu-gi-oh cards is cheaper and you get them printed. Hearthstone is somewhat the most expensive game in the world (if you want full game experience). You're falling in there trap and laughing at people that get bored. I would rather go on vacation with my gf.

You've created a dedicated section for Spellburst, Studies and Dual Class cards.

Could you also create a section for the "Soul fragment" cards?
Those cards are currently split across the dual class and single class cards and there is no easy way to have a global view of the cards (especially for the warlock).

I don't think that those cards will see play, glide is an outcast card and the 2/1 priest card doesn't really matter that much VS my T1 7 damage Pirate Warrior opening and other such decks.

I for one as a wild player consider not buying any pack past the 10 packs guaranteed legendary. This expansion brings nothing to the table for wild IMO. I think i'll get away with under 2k dust for the cards i need and maybe i'll be lucky and open Lightning Bloom in the 1st few packs

AHOY!

Aye, can't agree more with you sailor. As a Cap'n that sails the Wild mode seas, i have great dispair for those scumbag rats tha call themselves mages. Playing with spells that don't belong in their decks and screw with time so much thatthey managed to stay on tier 1 since their damn quest was released.

This new booty of cards only flaw is presenting no new pirates to join our plunder. But the new weapons will be most welcome to our pillage. We may see pirate demon hunter now, the winds os change are welcome to the wild seas.
