HearthPwn: What made this expansion theme so compelling? What made it cool over other things you discussed?
Dean: The first thing we did obviously was we chose to have a new class and chose Illidan for that. So then we kind of had to do something that’s loosely related to Illidan.
In Hearthstone it’s a little bit easier to take a more broad location and take all of Outland and put a little bit of Hearthstone spin on it. It’s still Warcraft universe, still very much Outland, still going to see a lot of the places you remember if you played in the Burning Crusade expansion in World of Warcraft.

Demon Hunter:
Ashes of Outland saw the introduction of the 10th Class to Hearthstone: Demon Hunter. We have made a thorough breakdown of the class and it’s known cards in this separate article. Here are some cards coming with the expansion for this new class:

Primes:
Primes are new, special legendaries introduced in Ashes of Outland for all the original 9 Classes, but not for Demon Hunter. They all work in the same way: they have a base version, which when killed returns as a stronger version to your deck, to be drawn again and played again. The upgraded Prime minions have some spectacular effects, as you can see below:

HearthPwn: What was the Inspiration behind the Primes, the new Legendaries that you introduce with Ashes of Outland?
Dean: Primes are characters where you wonder “What would it be like if they came back?” and they come back in bigger, better, more awesome versions after they were defeated the first time.
Imprisoned Demons:
What would Outland be without some Demons? These particular Demons are called “Imprisoned Demons” because when you play them they stay dormant on the battlefield for 2 turns. During this time no one can interact with them, neither you nor your opponent.
When they finally awaken, they unleash an awesome effect. Imprisoned Demons can be tricky to play with as you will spend mana on a turn that only pays off later, but it promotes strategy and turn planning and has some amazing payoffs as you can see below:

Wish they would release the expansion sooner, pandemic isolation is boring just waiting on to the 7th like its Christmas and I'm 7years old again!
Yeah same hhaha
Just don't play paladin.
Players: This would seem like a great expansion to give the Paladin some killer cards and a competitive place in the meta!
Blizz: More Murlocs, best I can do.
Some neat Paladin cards revealed today
You got that right! Couldn't be happier about potentially being wrong.
Why don't the "Discuss This Card" buttons send me to the forum page where we can vote on how good the cards are?
I asked the same question here: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/off-topic/site-feedback-support/240885-where-are-the-card-discussion-threads-in-the-forum
The moment where you want to say your inspiration for the Primes were the Phyrexians, but you can't promote other card games. Haha
Great Idea, though, I just think it would be cooler if the cards were from the Heroes themselves. Imagine Garrosh Prime? It'd be a sweet, sweet art.
I mean, at the very least they are using important lore characters like Kargath Bladefist and Lady Vashj for the primes.
Noo, why Leeroy. Why?? I love him so much. It was the legendary card for budget decks. All control decks and mid-range decks need so many pieces that new players can't afford. At least a good cheap aggro deck with leeroy was a solution for quick and good decks. BUT NOW HE IS GOING TO BE BANNED. No more OTK combos. I am so mad!
Just play wild. Where is the problem?
Even new players can build up one of the most oppressive decks like mech paladin or face mage within a dew days.
There is no excuse not to do this.
GG
hahah no more noob decks
Nearly every deck is braindead...
Are you also wondering who at the Hearthstone Development team is the Transformers-fan with these Prime-cards?
We already have one hunter here. What comes next? Beast Priest or Elemental Rogue class...
Demon Hunter and Death Knight are actual classes in WoW... Just that they are called the same doesn't mean one came from the other. It doesn't mean they are the same, either.
If you saw that cards, you know that classes are similar, except that demon hunter will be overpowered against casual Hunter, because its new. Hunter still have no board control, playing against taunt decks is almost every time lose and Iam not talking about wild.. Hoped that Blizzard will solve this one time, but they release new hunter instead. Btw is death knight class coming too?
Finally Goodbye f...kin leroy, don't be mised. I hope malygos is next.
