Goblins vs Gnomes Launch Event
We have datamined information about a Goblins vs Gnomes launch event. Logging into the game during the launch event will give you a free arena run and three free Goblins vs Gnomes card packs. We don't know how long the launch event will last, but if it's anything like Naxxramas, it should last a couple of months. Blizzard has not yet released a statement on the GvG Launch Event.
Quest changes which reference the launch event can be seen below, alongside the other quest changes (Woo Android!).

Goblins vs Gnomes Information & Cards
We've launched a dedicated page for Goblins vs Gnomes which contains information on the expansion and has lists of all the new cards!
Vol'jin is not a priest for god sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The biggest error you guys made. The vol'jin habilities are more shaman oriented. DIssapointed...
I'm assuming Temporary Increased Disenchanting Values only apply to cards effected by Balance Changes and not Race Changes. Though I would love getting the crafting cost of Demolishers and Alarm-o-bots back in dust for DEing them.
Yeah, i would also bet that only Flare and Gadgetzan will bring you full value in Dust once the cards are changed in game.
The rationale behind dusting them for full price is that anyone who spent dust crafting them before would otherwise be let down. Since making a card a mech or a beast is in no way a nerf, I really don't see any reason for them to offer full price for disenchanting. (Making Druid of the Claw a beast does make it susceptible to Hemet Nesingwary, but the added synergy with Druid of the Fang is more than enough to offset this, so I doubt Blizzard would see it as a nerf.)
I'd like to get 200 dust for my Alarm-o-Bots too, but I think it ain't happenin'.
I'm so salty about that gadgetzan auctioneer nerf :(
I want to see the new look of rag when it is golden
Please...wtf is a spare part ? Is that with 1 cost + some effect?
Yes.
These cards can only be obtained by ingame mechanics on some cards from GvG.
You can find a list of Spare Parts HERE.
...
Annoy-o-Tron into Alarm-o-Bot sounds pretty slick. Or Mechwarper into Mechanical Yeti or Piloted Shredder. Or Mechwarper into Annoy-o-Tron and Spider Tank.
Play during the Goblins vs Gnomes pre-launch event.
Is that... now ?! or when exactly ?
Also the servers will be full once it's up, I hope the launch even quest will last a few days so I can get a game in.
who are this guys??? more tokens?
They have always been a summon from Gelbin Mekkatorque...
Really? I DE'd one exact moment I've got it and never played Gelbin.
thx anyway.
Nice spotting, it's been sitting there since closed beta I had forgotten all about it.
Do you think it may be viable in a mech deck?
Oh man, I even double checked it:) I've mistaken it with Tinkmaster Overspark (another one AWESOME:) )! Needless to say why Gelbin's inventions not so common for simple players. As well as Overspark not so popular in meta.
As for me, I've played about 300 arena runs (I know that it is not so much), and NEVER(!) have seen both mentioned during draft. I don't even know Is Gelbin eligible for arena?
Stormpike Commando had a bear? I did not notice it before.
I started typing a long reply and all my Hearthpwn tabs crashed at once.... Let's try this again, shall we Chrome?
Look at the line of text before those 3 quest descriptions: "Goblins and Gnomes have been tinkering with the Arena!! Get a sneak peek at new cards there with a free Arena run!"
Two things to note: 1. 'sneak peek' makes a lot more sense if they mean this is something that will happen before the launch day, who needs to "sneak" a peek at cards that are 100% released and part of the game already? and 2. the only other mention of a free Arena run is the quest reward for the GvG Arena Mischief quest about the pre-launch event.
So, my theory: sometime soon (my best guess: Friday), we will log into HS and see that 'sneak peek' message show up. We'll have an option to play a free Arena match with the GvG cards already added into the card pool. Going back to read the datamined text it sounds exactly like what I would expect it to say if my theory is right, and it makes a lot of sense for Blizz as a promotional trick. It gets non-Arena players interested in Arena again - and since they'll be having lots of fun seeing all these new cards for the first time, and everyone will kinda suck at drafting while we figure out the meta and which cards are better/worse in practice than they sound on first glance, so people who dislike Arena because they know they suck at it will have a better chance of lucking out and doing okay. It lets people see a whole bunch of new cards in a short time and even try some of them out / get pwned in the face by someone else trying them out, without actually giving away tons of cards. People still have to wait for launch to try out constructed decks with the new cards. It can even serve as a last second bug and balance test - if some crazy glitches happen or a card is obviously waaaaaaay better than they wanted it to be based on seeing it in action in Arena, they can try to fix it before Monday or at least temporarily pull the problem card(s) from the game so people don't encounter game-breaking bugs or a stupidly lopsided meta on day one.
Things I'm still unsure about -
*whether this will be another option in addition to the 'normal' Arena button so people have a few more days to play Arena with just pre-GvG cards and regular non-GvG packs as rewards, or if it will just replace Arena with the new, GvG-updated Arena a few days early - I really have no idea about this one, could see it going either way.
*whether rewards for that Arena run will be GvG packs or normal. My money's on GvG packs, because that's obviously what most people will want more and giving people a single GvG pack for free like that might help tempt people into buying packs / paying for Arena entries right away on launch
*whether we can keep doing these GvG pre-release runs after the free run ends by paying gold/cash like a normal Arena run, or only get one shot at it until full release. I would assume the former, why would Blizz *not* want to give people the option of giving them money as part of this event?
TL;DR: I am almost positive that it means we're gonna get a chance to play with the new GvG cards in Arena a little while before GvG officially launches.
true dat.
