Hearthstone's 3rd and final expansion in the Year of the Dragon is Descent of Dragons! It goes live on December 10th.
The Year of the Dragon started with an E.V.I.L. plan set forth by Rafaam and his crew of villians: to steal the floating city of Dalaran in the Rise of Shadows expansion. With their plan in motion, we traveled to Uldum and were reunited with the League of Explorers. As they try to rescue Dalaran we head to the year's final expansion: Descent of Dragons.

They’ve escaped Uldum with the Plague of Undeath and twisted its ancient power in order to resurrect the most powerful draconic force the world of Azeroth has ever known – the progenitor of dragonkind himself, Galakrond!
- Rogue, Warrior, Warlock, Shaman, and Priest will all receive a different iteration of Galakrond.
- Each Galakrond features 3 forms. Playing two Invoke cards will transform to the next form.
- Each time you play an Invoke card, Galakrond's Hero Power effect will be triggered.
Sidequests
Sidequests grant powerful rewards for completing the guidelines listed on the card. They are similar to old "Quests", but easier to complete and with less powerful effects.
Malygos, Aspect of Magic
A powerful 5-cost Mage Legendary, Malygos Discovers an "Upgraded Mage spell" if you're holding a Dragon.
Kronx Dragonhoof
Kronx Dragonhoof is a powerful Neutral Legendary. If you've already played Galakrond, he unleashes one of his 4 Devastations.
Yeah, i think that's the case. The event didn't start.
Probably the best expansion of all time.
I feel the same way. Lots of cool cards and the theme/flavor for most of the classes is amazing. Personally, I really like the design of the Infinite and Storm Dragonflights for Priest and Shaman.
I felt the same about warrior too, but the heavy focus on Pirates lowered my enthusiasm for that class a bit. I wouldn't have mind if Warrior got another dragon at least.
nope the dragon for shaman is so shitty that they have to make a card to invoke it twice
Really? I thought Shaman got some pretty impressive stuff. Enough to at least make for a midrange deck that can pack a punch.
Shaman might pale a bit in comparison with some classes but they did get some good stuff, which also has some nice flavor to it.
to me argo warrior are the big dog this season
I still dont understand why only 5 classes have Galakrond hero. Does Blizzard want to nerf there other 4 classes?
5 classes have galakrond = 5 villain
I'm excited about the galakronds. Also curious to see what the good 'response' will be to balance things out.
Blizzard prefer to add “Evasive” in the minion’s name rather than description.
Getting all 5 legendary Galakronds would help ease in the cost of 5 classes decks at least.
I was like, how are you expected to survive till you manage 4 invokes then I remembered, oh Kronx Dragonhoof. It is pretty much a must craft and try.
Anyone else feel like the Warrior is the “control class” as in their card design ensures the other classes don’t run rampant (aka party pooper). We had Gadgetzan Pirate Warrior, we had Deadman Hand Warrior, Bomb Warrior and now back to Pirate Warrior. This expansion Pirate Warrior would make sure other decks don’t go too slow too safely.
And what is the result: 5 classes have powerful mechanics for pumping the "hero card" and 4 classes have questionable mechanics for "Sidequests" ?! Why did not Blizzard add “hero cards” to all classes?
It seems like they REALLY wanted to add the keyword "Evasive" to the set for the effect of Faerie Dragon
Disgusting how there are clearly open slots in priest to add a good 2 mana dragon explorer and the idiots designing the game put in such trash like the random lackey crap instead. It baffles my mind that priest was the original starter of good dragon decks and they got the worst dragons this expansion. Even HUNTER and DRUID got an explorer but not a class known for having good dragon synergy??? This class has nothing to do with lackeys, what kind of a damn pack filler garbage card is this honestly. They couldn't make a simple 2 mana 1/4 discover a dragon and idk heal 2 health or something? Sorry for the rant but this makes no sense and my plans for wild dragon priest have been ruined... Now I have to stick to a non dragon outdated neutral discover card. Talk about class identity when there is a clear bias against priest... The 4/5 dragon didn't even get taunt...
Edit: Even if they couldn't get an explorer giving them a terrible lackey card is like giving paladin a choose one card, it makes no sense. No healing related cards were given to priest their dragons are by far the worst besides the legendary. Their breath card is by far the worst and their 5 mana 4/5 dragon is not battlecry or does not have taunt. I don't look into or care about the lore so I don't know what the "evil" or "good" classes are. I find it weird since priest doesn't seem very evil but whatever. Yet still priest clearly got the short end of the stick when it comes to dragons yet they started it all, guess the deathrattle non dragon cards will carry them through this expansion or maybe not...
The explorer dragons are for the “good” classes while the “evil classes got galakrond
Shhhhh logic has no place here this is the rage zone
7 neutral Dragons in the entire set.
1 of which only works in a specific archetype.
Is this a joke?
Almost each one of those neutral dragons can be useful, especially if you take the -2 mana cost legendary into account, and you can have two of them besides Alextrasza. Personally I rather have a smaller group of dragons which are useful in their own right, then lots of dragons you won't use for the most part.
Everything is fine, of course, but why does the druid have only one card with "choose one"?
Where is your class identity?
Implying that "Class Identity" still means something in this game
im pretty sure that class identity stopped being a thing for druid since year of the mammoth
