The Boomsday Project - Hearthstone's Ninth Expansion

Hearthstone's Ninth Expansion is The Boomsday Project! It launches on August 7, 2018.

Expansion Info

135 new cards - Mechs are returning and we're getting Legendary spells.
A new Warrior playable hero card featuring Dr. Boom!
A new mechanic called Magnetic is being added to the game.
Projects are new spell cards with extremely powerful effects, but they help both players.
Omega Project - These cards are normal, but have a Battlecry that works when you have 10 Mana Crystals.
New PVE content called the "Puzzle Lab" is being added.

Freebies

Three free card packs for logging in on release.
One free legendary class minion.

Pre-Purchase

There are two different ways to pre-purchase the expansion. You can buy both if you wish!

Dr. Boom, Mad Genius

There is definitely some questions about how this card works, so here's the deal!

Dr. Boom's Hero Power is randomized every turn. It randomizes on your opponent's turn so they can see what to expect.
You can never get the same hero power in a row.
Dr. Boom does not appear in the Arena.

These are his different emotes.

Greetings: "Here comes the BOOM!"
Well Played: "You. You're good."
Thanks: "Thanks! I'll destroy you last."
Wow: "NICE!"
Oops: "Huh. Failure IS an option."
Threaten: "Don't make me push buttons!"

Here are his five different hero powers.

Puzzle Lab

The Puzzle Lab will become available starting August 21.

When you experience The Boomsday Project’s free single-player content, The Puzzle Lab, you’ll discover that science is fun! And dangerous! Not necessarily in that order! You’ll need to get your security clearance before you can gain access to these secrets, though.

All the cards I see in standard are from Frozen, Kolbolds, Baku and Genn.

Has this expansion even been released yet?

No new quest along with the new expansion, is this expected?

I remember there will be some mandatory quests come along with a new expansion, but I did not see them this time.

Pretty sure most the new quests are coming with Puzzle labs which comes out on the 21st I'm pretty sure.

I had 83 boosters (80 from preorder + 3 free). Free Legendary: Crystalsmith Kangor, free golden Legendary: Dr. Boom, Mad Genius! Here's the opened treasure (only Epics and Legendaries):

Mage: Unexpected Results*2, Astromancer*2
Paladin: Glowstone Technician
Priest: Zerek, Master Cloner, Power Word: Replicate
Rogue: Necrium Vial
Shaman: nothing
Warlock: Dr. Morrigan, Omega Agent
Warrior: Beryllium Nullifier * 2
Neutral Legendaries: Whizbang the Wonderful, Subject 9 (golden)
Neutral Epics: Crystallizer, Augmented Elekk *2, Weaponized Pinata, E.M.P. Operative *2, Holomancer *2, Loose Specimen, Seaforium Bomber * 2, Star Aligner

Not bad at all, guys! I certainly would like to get more legendary spells, preferably better than Boom-Zooka, but six Legendaries for 83 boosters is OK, especially if one of them is golden :)

Who cares if you didn't get a lot of legendary spells, you got a shit ton of epics. That opening is insane.

Turns out that Zerek, Master Cloner's clone from Vivid Nightmare will also be able to be resummoned if killed. Makes the card a lot better than I thought it was.

He's pretty good too, please disregard me being rank 15, thats from other decks, not this one >_>.

Yeah it's a really fun deck, I just need to refine it better for aggro right now. It absolutely destroys the late game though. Just had a match where my opponent got to 80 health with the Dr. Boom hero. I was able to bring him down to 13 before he conceded all while keeping at least one Zerek on the board. Don't think the deck is amazing, but it definitely is hilarious.
