Prepare for a New Year - Get Cheaper Packs!
This section contains affiliate links. They help the site!
Although you can't make use of this offer for Un'Goro packs yet, you can collect cards on the cheap from expansions by using Amazon Coins. It does require an Android device though since you need to install the Amazon Underground Appstore in order to get the correct Hearthstone app that lets you redeem the coins.
So go buy some Amazon Coins at a discount to get cheaper packs! You can save your coins for the Un'Goro launch or spend them on older packs now. With The Grand Tournament rotating out soon, you can use this as an opportunity to get those packs to finish your collection one last time. Be sure to visit our guide to learn more about Amazon Coins.
It will only drop ungoro cards. That said, due to the fact that you are only guaranteed a single rare and 4 commons in every pack, with epics being (on average) every 10-20 packs and legendaries only guaranteed every 40 packs, there is absolutely no way you will get the entire set in only 50 packs. I usually have to buy ~200 to get the full expac. Obviously this doesn't account for lucky legendaries and goldens, but thats my average. Trust me, dupes are never bad. more dust = more fun
Thanks fellow Hearthstoner... hah stoner get it ?
Also something you should note is that there will be 135 new cards, of which 23 are legendaries, that means there are 112 other cards you can get twice. So you need a total of 224+23=
227247 cards to have a full collection.EDIT: whoops, it's 247 obviously
*247
What about an expac with only 130 legendaries, 4 commons 1 rare, now that would be awesome
And you always open packs with 4 commons and 1 rare
Considering my luck i wouldn't be suprised... It's a curse.
I keep looking at the pre-order card back but can't tell, does it have any animation or is the final design not finished?
O lord Hydra sounds like a super annoying POS to deal with :/
Hopefully it ends up being useless like Gahz'rilla and Scaled Nightmare and NOT like Grim Patron
Hydras R sun of the Cooolest creatures in HS. Keep playing your pirates and my Hydra will gobble them up and shoot them out of its ass into yo Face Warrior!
Wait what hydra?
I would B excited for this expansion but Blizzard has proven that they can't design a balanced game even with the removal of half of the broken cards already within the game. They keep promoting a turn 4 meta of win or lose when they introduced the 4 mana 7/7 and now Gentle Megasaur. I'm surprised they haven't removed or keep printing cards that cost more than 5 mana since the game never goes passed turn 5 now.
I think people at your rank should learn how to netdeck better then lol. Either you die on turn 4 to pirates, turn 8 to rogue, or turn 34 due to fatiguing against reno. Game is mad cancer right now and the only saving grace is that reno is fucking off. The problem with rotating a ton of cards out is aggro decks can always slot similar cards in, but control requires specific tools that it now doesn't have. losing belcher, death's bite, and deathlord all at once pretty much killed control warrior, the only reason it was allowed to live is because justicar carried the deck on her back.
Yeah, sure. You die to everyone because you are a good player who complains about every second card. Look, if every class gets power creep cards, there will be no problem. But if no classes gets any, the meta won't change (see TGT).
see TGT? TGT brought totem golem, which bumped Shaman up to mid-tier from dead last. Then, when LOE came out, they got tunnel trogg and literally became the best class in the game for 2 years. Before that, Shaman was a midrange/control class. Same thing just happened to Warrior. Problem with power creep is it's really easy to add power to aggro minions, it's real hard to make a more powerful "kill a minion" effect other than having it be cheaper than the original. And there's literally no power creep in combo decks because there's no point going past 40 damage. The only buff they could get is requiring less cards for their combo, which makes them the same deck, just with more card draw slotted in. The only decks that benefit from power creep are aggro decks, so I would rather not thanks.
Shaman at LOE wasn't the strongest class even, or even tier 1. Aggro shaman was tier 2. It was during WOTOG that Shaman became tier 1 and cancer - due to the fact that it was one of the few surviving deck with only 1 card rotating out, and that in standard most classes lost cards like Priest lost Lightbomb from GVG and warrior lost their 4 mana 4/2 warrior weapon that deal 1 damage to all minion that it became cancer. Tbh, if the few cancer cards were balanced from GVG/Naxx (Namely: Avenge from 3/2 to 2/2, Haunted creeper from 1/2 to 1/1, 4/3 shredder to 3/3, downscale Boombot RNG and the shaman nerf, and the game would've been perfectly fine) . Standard wouldn't even be necessary - since it is a digital card game and they can constantly update cards to fine tune the meta. But then shit hit the fan with power creeps Kharazhan and Gadgetzan, and even wild got ruined.
I'm excited for this, but I'm still not 100% sure I'll be prepurchasing the 50 card packs.
I'm on a new account now that so far has no real money into it, and I'm considering keepig it free to play.
what i did (because i have no self control) is pre-order the 50 packs for every expansion and limit myself there. that way, i get enough cards and dust to start making some cool decks (probably been theorycrafting for 2 months prior) right away. that also means i can keep track of how much i'm spending on the game and just chip $70 CAD off a paycheck every now and then. now if you really want the FTP feel, you can definitely go for it, but that means you're not climbing as far in ladder, which means you're not getting as many rewards at the end of the month, which means you're even farther behind. if you don't care about being behind, go for it. if you like deckbuilding, you might want to get the packs so you can make some new decks before other people think of them.
