Boss Overview
Rafaam Unleashed is the fourth and final boss in the Hall of Explorers wing of the The League of Explorers adventure.
Pro Tips and Strategy
Oops, we've gone and made Rafaam angry and now he's out to get us with his real deck.
- Your Hero Power is replaced with Rummage which gives you artifacts - see below.
- Rafaam's Hero Power is the Staff of Origination. While it charges, he is Immune. The charging phase takes a couple of turns, after which he randomly summons one of the adventure bosses (see below). For your next turn after that boss is summoned, he is then able to be attacked. This repeats throughout the fight.
- Controlling the board is very important - you can only attack him when the staff has charged up and released a boss, and only for a single turn as the staff makes him immune again.

Beat it first try, solid man.
U should post and make a guide. It would upvote more than those decks and make it to the front page. Did it on 2nd try.
Awesome deck, first try.
Thanks for the Deck. I swapped the Violet Teacher and Doctor Boom for a pair of Big Game Hunters, and won on the first try.
I finally got it with your deck, thanks!!
First try thanks!!! I change 1 mind control for N'Zoth, no need to use.
Worked very well, tried about 3 times, swapped Violet Teacher for Barnes.
0-7 so far. Worst deck i've ever tried
I have got a Gahz'rilla on the board and then used a Crown of Kael'thas, ends up to 384 Attack Beast and a nice OTK in the end.
This is a challenge deck built for someone who's already beat heroic bosses, knows the strategy pretty well or wants some extra fun. It works very inconsistently and one successful attempt will be well enough after a lot of failures. If you have limited card collection, hope this can help you with your deck-building to defeat him! Total attempts: 5, 1 with this version. Please refer to the HearthPwn decklist as the decktracker didn't show cards correctly.
I used this deck to defeat heroic Rafaam Unleashed. Try to get Nerubian Egg and Rockbiter Weapon or Flametongue Totem to open game, and a good Hex for the 1st 10/10.
Reincarnate is for either Deathrattle minions or Kel'Thuzad. Use Jewel Scarab to get a good 3-mana Shaman spell like single removal Hex or AoE Lightning Storm.
Use Hakkari Blood Goblet on 1 of your minion the turn before Rafaam summons a 10/10 so that you can kill it with the Pit Snake. Use Lothar’s Left Greave or Shard of Sulfuras to counter Mirror of Doom. I used Eye of Orsis to discover 3 Gelbin Mekkatorques, however the Repair Bot he summoned healed Rafaam twice, screwing me off 2 chances to finish him sooner. Therefore be careful and choose what you need.
Finally, you need to pull off the Kel'Thuzad + Taunt bug combo, sometimes you need to remove your own minions to get the best board you can and minimize his chance to kill your KT first.Kel'Thuzad + Reincarnate seems like the safest option, the choice is yours. Good luck! Card change will occur anytime.
I was doing rather poorly until he summoned a Fel Reaver. No idea if that's in his normal deck or came out of one of his random mechanics, but either way... yikes. I gutted his remaining 13 cards and sent him into fatigue. :)
He ignored the fatigue most of the time, but eventually on one of his "summon turns", he brought out Giantfin and proceeded to take 7-8-9 on his own turn before I could do anything, ending the game. XD
Made it the third time with an OTK Murloc deck. FeelsGoodMan.
Is it me of does the heroic version not seem to summon all that randomly. Every time I had any minions on the board and his hero power activated it summoned the Lady Naz'jar, every time I chose to try to use spells it summoned Scarvash, like WTF. I never saw anyone but those 2 and Steel Sentinal 1 time on my first attempt when he killed me. The second game took forever, but I did win after Mind Controlling twice and then finally drawing a Scarvash I had Entombed, but it was just beyond frustrating seeing nothing but that minion transforming Naga whore over and over.
that's weird, cuz I never once saw Lady Naz'jar. mostly the sentinal, giantfin, and Phaerix
How do I post a winning deck list for this encounter on Heroic?
Make it in deckbuilder then post link to it in your comment
