Boss Overview

Skelesaurus Hex is the first boss in the Hall of Explorers wing of the The League of Explorers adventure.

This fight is a bit of a mystery. All we can assume is that it was a dinosaur at one point. Oh, and randomness. Lot's of randomness.

Pro Tips and Strategy

RNG Warning! His hero power is a 0 mana cost better version of Unstable Portal. Sometimes there's just nothing you can do about it.
His deck is primarily beast minions, and he can summon quite a few of them. Control the board as best you can before going face.
There's an interesting glitch which seems to occur quite often with Mage. Animated Armor sometimes isn't targeted by Skelesaurus when it's in play. Pair with Kel'Thuzad to secure its board position.

I used my Wild Mage Deck I use for quest Dailies. It's not anything special and he went down pretty fast. It was another case of keeping his off the board. He gives you a card every turn so it's not hard.

Found a new bug of some sort where playing a Giant Wasp and not attacking with it will lead to him freezing as long as you have no secrets.

I finally managed to beat skelesaurus on heroic with a shaman deck. It was the last chapter and it took me several restarts (more than 100 in total and maybe about 30 with this deck) but that deck was potentially the only one I could see win. Check it out if you still need to make it through:

Finally, after about 40 tries using other decks (and about 3 using the deck below) have my Heroic LoE card back after defeating this boss, which I reckon is the hardest one in this adventure. Had to create my own custom Rogue Mill Deck. It's not perfect and isn't cheap, but full explanation can be found on the deck page.
