Pulled him and tried a bunch of standard decks with him on it, he was slow and inconsequential usually summoning a 2 drop and being removed because turns out aggro is back to being broken now and they can deal with your armor easily now plus without cost reduction effects yipp+hp is the only thing you can reliably do with him unless you want to run Iron Hide or Bring It On! and i don't own the later, so i went to wild where i had moderate succes with this deck.

Your deck has no tempo at all. You can't expect to be behind entire game and then make it up with 8/10 mana legendaries. At least add a second brawl. Wild is no measure for anything, people usually just mess around there.

Ignorance is bliss I guess. There are tons of competitive players in wild that actually take deck-building seriously and create serious decks for laddering. Your opinion is propagating a falsehood and is completely inaccurate.

There is a big difference between practical knowledge and theoretical. You can have your opinion of course, but if you never progress past rank 10 in wild it holds absolutely no weight.

I've had some success with dropping him along side Bring It On! on turn ten for a 4/8 and a random 10 drop. Sadly not all the ten drops are great but there is no other consistent way to have high armor when you bring him down.

I know but I can’t bring myself to do it. 9 Armor seems to the best activator due to the chances of big taunts. Obsidian statue and voidlord are pretty clutch. Golden Deathwing though is the most awesome looking outcome.....
Yeah I think 9 mana is starting to become a serious contender for the best random summoning cost. At the present time though 8 is still better with stuff like Ragnaros and Tirion.

I've been tinkering with Geosculptor Yip since I got him in packs. I only play Wild so I can't speak about Standard. I found him really fun and effective. I almost always have 10+ armor by turn 10, but usually get a Sea Giant or N'Zoth, the Corruptor. The best slot is 8 mana imo, there are so broken legendaries here. But it's hard to hold on your armor until then ! I don't even have Bring It On! I play with Dead Man's Hand. My deck is far from being refined so I won't publish it here, but I'm sure that Geosculptor Yip can be really good in the right deck. It gives so much value !

haven't tried the Dead Man's Hand approach, i guess i¡ll try, i went for N'zoth because i wanted a second win condition or at least some removal bait, and the mama Direhorns can be really good.
Tempo is king. This deck has no real tempo and a mishmash of poor synergies including some armor-based anti-synergies and plenty of just plain bad cards. Sorry, but Wild is even more of an aggro fiesta than Standard now and only Highlander decks are able to be controlling and maintain a positive winrate.
For Standard: I guess he could be played in fatigue warrior. But he also feels pretty clunky at this high cost being the only threat in a deck.
Maybe there could be a midrangy minion based armor deck that makes use of it. It's probably the strength of priest hindering people from playing Alley Armorsmith though.
I also drew Yipp, so I will try to make him fit somewhere soonish and come back here :D

As a side note I’ve been playing since Beta... a lot my only other golden legendary was Varian Wrynn. Quite the parallel
