Hi all, my first thread here. I played a lot of Hearthstone for about 5 years ago and during beta. It was fun and balanced. Got to rank 10 without a special deck. (the old rank) Now everything is so crazy, I remember when just getting Ragnaros on the field was a free win :
Now I use a libram deck designed from the tier one list. But I can't get past silver 7, gets destroyed by most decks. I try to get bord presence, makes good value trades, combos, (I rarely get the good libram combos that my libram opponents make). The deck is soooo slow and the combos when present always gets overrun by the opponents combos. I make most the same choises when looking at legend rank players at you tube.
What could I do wrong? I got to silver by the way with almost perfect winstreak, then it was a hard stop.
You can’t beat blizzards sophisticated matchmaking! It matches you against decks that have higher win rates against the deck you are playing. Two options
quit like I did
keep on grinding until the algorithm thinks it’s the right time to lvl
It's conspiracy theory level fun. Matchmaking is opaque, but not that bad.
I'd suspect you're a) in a micro-meta that's unfriendly, and b) probably making a few mistakes. What are you seeing that you're losing to? Why are you losing - too slow, misread in mulligan choices, too little value, dumping buffs on stuff that gets frozen etc.? I can't help with specifics, since I don't play libram paladin, but that'd be a start.
One thing your deck lacks a bit is board clears / comeback mechanisms. All you have is the 2 brooms, but neither Barov (which works great with broom) nor Samuro. I'd consider cutting the Righteous Protectors for example (as you already have 2 other good 1-drops anyway). That's regarding deck-building. About gameplay I can't say unless you have some game replays you can share here (are you using deck tracker btw?)
As for the conspiracy theories, I won't even bother commenting on them....;)

pretty much this. paladin right now is a snowball with weak comeback, adding those two options will fix it.
Yes, I loose a lot to freeze, but how do I play around that? They always seems to have freezestuff when I have a good board. Almost all losses to mage has been against rune of archmage, doesnt matter how strong my board is or if I make a comback they somehow use the card again. Also warlock seems to have some kind of superplay late game when the whole bord gets coverd in smoke, I have not had time to see what they are doing and what card they use. and priest uses my own good minions to kill of each other. Those are the ones I can think of right now.
I have used up all my dust unfortunately, any other changes I can do to the deck? or should I disenchant old legendarys to make those? I have to dust 8 legendarys to get those two, then I relly need to win to make it worth it. I actually had a paladin buff budget deck without legendarys that got me to this rank, then I hit the wall, and decided to build the best paladin deck in the game, and used upp all my dust and dusted 5 legendarys or so. But It did not get me any further. :P

I have lost a couple of matches to cascading disastre in the last hour or two, the problem with that card is they use it over and over again to remove all my big libram buffed minions and especially libram of hope, and varian.
Take out hold the bridge for lord barov and 1 protector for blademaster samuro. U need board clear if u wanna win.
I might try, unfortunately I don't have any more dust. Do you have any cheap alternatives? I surely dont need a full set of legendary to get out of silver?
Libram Paladin is a top deck, so there might be two reasons why are you not performing well.
1) Your list is bad. No Barov and Samuro. My good advice is to forget about budgeting in HS. There are good reasons for every card included in decks. Here's the good list: AAECAZ8FCPy4A4TBA5PQA/voA5HsA9n5A7+ABOCLBAv9uAPquQPruQPsuQPKwQOVzQPA0QPM6wPw9gON+AP5pAQA You can cut the Murloc and Smite, but not Barov and Samuro.
2) You are playing bad. Which is normal if you are new or back to HS after a long time. But, then it's hard to point out everything you might be doing wrong. You can't simply learn everything HS over a night. Just play and learn.
First thing, you should get familiar with all the cards and decks from the format. This will help you learn matchups, mulligan and predicting / playing around stuff. Mulligan for 1 drops, then Bannerman, Vindicator... Keep Aldor, usually even without 1 drops against not fast opponents, especially on coin.

A reasonable alternative to Barov would be Equality or Libram of Justice. They don't synergise quite as well with the brooms and probably aren't as good overall, but are otherwise (functionally) similar (and much cheaper in dust!). Just remember the libram will over-write the immovable object if you've played it.
On a more general note I think the best strategy for Libram Palladin is to know your opponents deck and play around things which ruin your buffs. (e.g. devolving missiles from mage, shaman (and rogue!), scabs from rogue, silence from priest etc.).
You need to build a board and make it stick and know when to make a big minion vs. a spread of buffs.
I'm currently playing a freeze shaman type deck and it's fair to say once the freezes get going it's Samuro and Barov who bring the game back to the paladin. That said, if I cant discover any devolve type effects (which I don't run) I really struggle to clear the large shielded taunts efficiently and the burst damage over the top isn't as effective once Lightforged Cariel is in play, so this seems like a potentialy viable strategy against this style of deck.
Some paladins still run Trogg and this might be a better 1 drop than righteous defender. I don't know what the current top tier list is for libram paladin, but the decks I'm facing don't appear to run that.
I think Mutanus is a great flavour card and I love playing him but he's often really difficulty to get value from in practice. If you have a Murgle Murgurgle I would stick him in instead. Alternatively you could stick in Mr. Smite for some potential burst damage. Either way, I think Mutanus is too niche for Libram Paladin.

Thanks! a lot of good advice here! I think it is mostly I play bad, what I think is the hardest is learning the meta and all the different decks out there, so I play mostly what i think is what is hardest for my oponent to deal with, but with varying success.
I just installed Heartstone deck tracker, so I can track decks and my games, maybe this will help me see what i lost to.
Do you have any advice on how and where to learn the meta and popular decks?

Just my thoughts - good luck
Thanks a lot for a good post! I just put a libram of justice in, which seem to work pretty well.
Do you have any advace on where is the best place to find and track current meta?
I use several websites to keep track of the meta. For a global idea, you can check HS Replay. Check the different deck lists to get an idea of what you can expect vs a certain class.
Havent read everything but DONT build barov if you allready lack resources. He is going to rotate soon. Samuro is save though.
About certain bat matchups you mentioned, thats normal in the todays meta. There are next to impossible matchups. Pala is ment to get a board fast and overwhelm it's opponent. Stuff like freeze is a natural counter. You got very little late game powerplay options, so get used to it. Warlock is a possible matchup, you need a good mule with constant pressure and they may run out on removals. Also pala hero is kinda painful for the warlock to deal with, you can life twice as long as anybody else when it comes to fatigue.
Since that arent real advices, the advice is... learn common matchups and how to play against them. Every matchup needs a different plan in general. In some you go for handbuffs, in others you go wide on the board in the next you may want constant pressure and some are simply next to impossible
Thanks all for the tips! They helped me getting to gold, for now at least :) Seems like I'm getting a slight hang on the meta and the different decks out there.
