Reaching rank 4-5 has become easy for me and I know I can make the push for legend next season, which begins tomorrow, I want to reach Legend Rank and think I will.
What would be the best deck to reach legend? I'm guessing murloc paladin possibly? Pirate Warrior?
It's a mind set really, if you can reach r5 you can reach legend.
I just got legend for the second time in my HS career. Mostly because the deck was performing so well I said wtf let's do it.
My original legend was with Deathrattle Shaman way back and today achieves legend with a Lyra/dragon priest. My 3, 2,1 were all murloc palis and were successful in each match.
Lyra/dragon is just a consistent deck. Yes it can get blown out by perfect agro curve but any deck will lose to gg draw. I will even beat a pirate warrior that achieved 9/6 arcanite lmao, badass priests.
That's said laddering quickly is arguably best with the midrange hunter, un'goro zoolock, pirate warrior or quest rogue. Games are short and easy with them.

Zoolock, too? Thought warlock was worst class in this meta.
They say Pirate Warrior is still the top Tier 1 deck... but I dunno, farmed a few of them. I used Midrange Murloc Paladin to climb from Rank 5 to Legend in Standard for S37, very powerful deck, would be a good choice.
Pirate is tier2. It has many weaknesses and it's too predictable. With the addition of crawlers and the new ooze it's quite easy to beat them.

LOL, no. Predictable as it is, it still wins more than it loses.
It doesn't matter that it's easy to beat them by teching against them. You can beat literally any deck that way.
What matters is the fact that teching against Pirates can make you weaker against other decks, so people don't always do it. And in a meta where people don't tech against it, it has a very high win rate.

Yeah well we are talking about getting legend in standard in the current meta here, it's much more than playing a deck that wins more than it loses. I play pirate warrior myself with a ~65% win rate and I love the deck. But it's nothing more than that, a deck where you crush your opponent by turn 4-5 or you have to concede because they have 1hp left and you run out of board presence, draw or lethal burn.
I wouldn't consider that tier1. However I think pre-Un'Goro wild pirate warrior is indeed one of the best decks ever. Ship Cannon+Sir Finley+Death's Bite are game changers.

Rank 20 Lul .
?
Maybe you can bring some arguments to the discussion instead of trying to look cool?

Websites that collect actual stats from large numbers of players playing real ladder games, still place Pirate Warrior among the top 3 archetypes at Rank 5 through legend.
So regardless of your personal experiences or opinions, it IS a tier 1 deck.

Ok that's fair enough. Maybe I'm just salty that everyone's running crawlers and don't realize how great the deck still is.

This is a pretty strong deck against Pirates and Murlocs, both of which I fought a lot of on my climb to Legend this season.
Pirates are still very strong and between those two decks, you should have a good time.

But remember number one GL and HF!
Murloc Paladin seems to be the best choice
Murloc Pally is by far the best deck to ladder with
Tier 0 Deck now .
Season 36 = Legend Rank 60 . ( https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/20695745 )

I have to say either murloc paladin or some variation of Lyra priest. Does anyone else agree lyra is the best legendary of this expansion?
