I've been playing since June 2015 and the highest rank I got was rank 9.
I've been trying aggro Shaman and the games go to 10 mana. But when someone plays aggro Shaman against me, perfect start. Turn 2 flametongue between two minions. It's happen twice in a row. This rarely happens for me.
I am in a mindset where my opponent seems to always be so lucky and it's tilting me. Why are always so lucky or have the perfect answer?
Rank 9 is pretty good. I find that once you make it to a semi high rank, you feel that higher is unachievable. And as far as your opponents doing perfect games, that is bound to happen. It will happen for you too. Just stick with the same deck and it will happen here and there
Lol I've been playing for double your time and my highest rank is 9 as well. I guess the most important thing about Hearthstone is that after all it's a game. Some no-life aggro shamans in casual aside people play this game to have fun. So I guess a good way to see this is to perceive ladder as a mode where you can see how well you're doing, not a competition.
Like for me, I play random shit on ladder all the time and I don't really care. I just give the shamans and warriors free wins then play against the rest properly-and I have fun.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I'm Playing: Evenlock and Mill Rogue in Wild HS, Azami Control in EDH
I get rank 5 almost every month and is always Jaina to safe my reward.
Before MSoG tempo mage make my day and after Reno mage is the only competitive deck I really like, rogue is good now but pirates kick her ass too often and CW is in a very bad spot.
What do you mean? That looked like a pretty normal game to me. He had a pretty good early turn with the Questing Conceal, but you ran him out of cards and, despite having 10 health at one point, you were never really in danger of losing.
In my opinion, your turn seven play was wrong. You should've went with Aya. Reasoning behind this is that you know the opponent will be clearing to save his ass. He has two cards. Count on him using minions to clear Aya and one jade. Now that he has less board, you can drop on turn 8 your Dr. 4 as well as get a 4/4 jade on a presumably clear board. Minor, but I think could have won you the game with more gusto.
Edit: this is coming from a player who has played literally your same amount of time and has only made it to rank seven. Haha might as well add me at this point!
He only had 5 mana because of overload from the Lightning Bolt and Jade Claws.
Thanks guys. Maybe i should post more of my replays in future to learn when i misplay. I have just been playing; never have really focused on trying to get better and seeing other plays.
It's silly, but I find myself playing much MUCH better when talking to a newer player about plays while spectating, or even out loud if I were streaming myself.
I've only gotten back into Hearthstone in the last few months, just before Gadgetzan came out. A couple years ago I hit rank 4 with flamewaker tempo mage but ended up finishing out the season at rank 7.
Since returning, I haven't managed to break rank 10!
Lately though I've been watching streams of pro players more and really listening to how they make decisions.
If you haven't been watching the Trinity Series I highly recommend it! Each pro team has 3 players, they each take a turn piloting and you can listen in as they all discuss what the correct play is each turn.

Yeah, Naiman meme Soulfire the Doomsayer + attack face with 3/2 play. I learned a lot from that :D
But on the serious side - DO watch pro players for both funsies and improving. It's a nice way to still be in touch with the game without tilting yourself.
Lol...and I am happy if I can get to rank 11-12 and I have been playing for the last 3 years. But as long as I have fun it dosent matter. At least you get the new cardback every month ;)
First of all change your perspective. Its not you being bad, its others being better. Then, play a deck you learn trading like dragon priest. Aggro shaman will get fast results but you will stuck somewhere even faster. It is easy to play to high ranks quickly but then it has a high skillcap (they say, i never play shaman). I mean the lightning bolt to a 1 healh minion was probably a little too much. You were sitting at a lot of healh and you are the aggro player. Maybe hit with weapon and kill the 3/3 to get board or even wait to get some more burst for lethal. Also usually keep sir finley in mulligan. Sometimes you need to go slow, sometimes fast.
first of all, no worries.. it's just a stupid number, and I feel like there is no much difference between rank 5 and 9 in ways of decks being played and skill level.
watching your replay there is one thing that come to my eyes immediately: your turns tend to be really short (idk if it's a thing of the replay format??). But I often just try to visualize every possible turn of me and look at the outcome of it (life coach taught me that). A little consideration time is helpful for that.
another thing already mentioned above- you might work more with your health bar and weapons. I would've facetanked that adventurer to be able to lighting bolt the si7 t6! The other turns looked pretty good to me
good luck for your ladder journey and don't forget having a good time is the purpose of this game ;)
unfortunatly hearthstone rank isnt about skill its about time invested in this months ladder. if you want to hit legend you can expect to play atleast 500-600 games which means you would have to spend an average of 2-3hours a day every day for a month to get there

This is a little unprecisely: you can play as much as you want with a winrate below 50% from rank 5 on.

I don't know why I can't win!
I will post a replay of one of my games. I'd appreciate if you tell me what I did wrong.

Current Warframe Main: Mesa Prime
See this game last to turn 10 and I almost lost at turn 6. I won but I just don't see why my game doesn't look like your typical aggro shaman game.

Without Jaina I probably don't get rank 9.
