Below are some stats from the NA game. I played a few different decks to go from Rank 18 to 5 (Midrange Hunter, Zoolock, Aggro Shaman, Dragon Warrior, Control Warrior). I'll have another update at the end of the season, from Rank 5 to Legend.
Overall Record - 66-45 (59% win rate, not great) = 111 games total
Rogue: 4-1
Seldom saw a rogue deck, and they were all Miracle Rogue. The deck was too slow for the most part. The only loss was to a Edwin VanCleef that was 12/12 and I could not get rid of it. Don't know if people are having more success, but doesn't seem like a viable class. I don't think I played a single Rogue deck from Rank 8-5.
Warrior: 19-16
The most common class played - no surprises here. Most of the opponents from Rank 10 on were Control or Pirate. I began to see less Dragon Warriors, although I was playing Dragon Warrior through those ranks. I hit a wall with Dragon Warrior around Rank 7, so switched to Zoolock, which proved better. The problem with Dragon Warrior is that it would fall behind many games, if I didn't draw the early drops, and it became impossible to mount a comeback. The Pirate Warrior matches were fairly bipolar - they either had great hands, or poor hands, very few close matches. Control decks were solid if they drew Brawl. It's hard to distinguish C'Thun from a Control, because most of the Control Warriors played C'Thun. Ancient Shieldbearer was a tough card, especially when played in consecutive turns. I found it best to just stay ultra aggressive against Control Warrior, and hope they did not draw a Brawl.
Hunter: 6-6
I think there were a couple Face Hunters in the mix, but it was all Midrange Hunter otherwise -- some decks added in Yogg or N'Zoth as a finisher. I played Midrange Hunter from Rank 17-12 and hit a wall. The deck is only OK against much Warrior match ups. It did not really dominate their decks as I had hoped. If the opponent drew Fiery War Axe early enough, it usually meant big problems. I may go back to Hunter, because it is one of my favorite classes, but it just seems 50/50 in most match ups.
Druid - 6-1
The opponents were a mix of C'Thun and tokens. I did not have many problems with Druid, but then again, I did not face many. The Zoolock deck and Dragon Warrior beat up on them pretty good. Their taunt minions did poorly against cards like Execute and Power Overwhelming, so they were not able to keep up a defense for long. Also, the druid board clear is too weak against the minions who are mostly 2 and 3 health.
Mage: 8-7
The usual Spell Mage deck - although there was a weird hybrid with Freeze Mage that I faced in the higher ranks. The deck is actually pretty tough, and they were all close matches when I won. Mage got some very good cards in the new expansion, which I believe made the deck much stronger than its previous version. Cards like Cabalist's Tome, Cult Sorcerer, and Faceless Summoner were commonly used, and made the match up more challenging. Most players combo'd Sorcerer with Arcane Blast to knock out my stronger minions early on.
Paladin: 3-1
The opponents were Secret Paladins - I did not know this was a thing. Nonetheless, I did lose one match. I found the deck quite poor to its Wild version. I saw this class the second least, so there really isn't much to say.
Shaman: 8-6
Aggro or Totem Shaman - take your pick. It was hard to tell which version I was facing some matches, because they can both start on similar paths. Either way, the constant use of Shaman passive, combined with Totem Golem and the like, made things difficult when the player cast a free Thing from Below. I saw fewer Shamans as I climbed past Rank 9, and at that point they were mostly Totem versions. It is a solid deck, that overwhelms the board quickly -- not a problem if you have a decent board clear. On the other hand, the deck is very tough if you cannot clear their board.
Priest: 2-1
The class is dead at this point. I couldn't tell you what the decks were trying to accomplish, but I did lose a match. Now that I think of it, I believe it was Dragon Priest, which actually wasn't half bad. I think the class lacks adequate taunts, or something to defend itself.
Warlock 10-6
Mostly Zoolock, but started to see more Renolocks around Rank 7. The Reno decks weren't bad, if they drew into Reno. I think it can hold its own against most of the aggro decks. Zoo is Zoo - if you can take board control away from them, you're on the right track to winning.
So there you have it. Mostly Warriors, Mages and Warlocks. Let me know if you have any questions. See you at the end of the season. Good luck hitting Legend.
