Welcome to our fourth Season Finale Mini-Competition! These Mini-Competition serve three purposes. First, they provide us with some fun stuff to do during the Finale's week-long Championship Poll. Second, they're a way for us to reward competitions winners who've won multiple competitions, since we can only give them an avatar border once. And Finally, they provide us unique opportunities to have competitions for design concepts that would normally be too narrow for full week-long competitions.
Yesterday's competition was about Basic class cards, but today's will be about Basic neutral cards. There are 43 Basic neutral cards, and whether due to power creep or whatever else, the vast majority of them just don't see use anymore. You must take one of these Basic neutral cards and give it a little buff to make it more usable. Still try to keep them balanced, and also still try to keep them believably Basic in the simplicity of their effects; keywords and complex mechanics that deliberately never appear on Basic cards are not allowed (Counter, Deathrattle, Discover, Enrage, Immune, Inspire, Joust, Secret, Silence, Spare Parts, Stealth, C'Thun synergy, Jade Golems, and so on.)
Note that, in Hearthcards, you can "Import" an existing card's artwork and such by clicking on the "Import" button to the right inside of the "Card Name" field. However, for some reason doing so might put a "Common" gem on your card that you should probably remove.
As always, you may not delete any posts you make in this Submission Topic. Message one of the Fan Creation moderators if you've posted here in error or otherwise would like your post removed.
Remember that, although HearthCards is awesome, you must host your card somewhere other than Hearthcards, such asImgur or Photobucket.
General Competition Rules
These are the rules that remain consistent from competition to competition.
First, these are the rules about Posting:
You are allowed to submit only one entry. An entry normally consists of only one collectible card, plus any necessary additional material or commentary (explained below).
You are allowed to post in this Submission Topic only once, only to submit your one entry.
You may not delete ANY posts you make in this Submission Topic, not even accidental ones you may make over your one allowed, such as by double-posting or by accidentally posting something here that you meant for the Discussion Topic. If you do accidentally post more than once, inform any of the Fan Creation Forum moderators via PM, and we will handle it.
Speaking of the Discussion Topic, that is where any discussion of this competition should go. This thread is for submissions only. If you want to discuss your card or ask questions about the competition rules or process, you can find a link to the Discussion Topic at the top of this thread. Plenty of folks there will be happy to help you out.
Once you have submitted your one entry, you are allowed to make only minor changes to it. Minor changes are things like correcting typos or making balance changes that do not alter the spirit of your entry as determined by we the moderators. If you want to make any changes and have any doubts as to their legality, ask us first.
These are the rules about your Submission:
Accompanying the image of your card, you may offer some minimal additional commentary to explain its design, balance, and/or other qualities. Flavor text is also welcome.
You may not submit any Gold cards. (It's just a cheap attention grab tactic that makes it unnecessarily difficult to determine what class your card is for.)
Your entry must be a card of your own creation. We've been doing this for a while, so if you blatantly rip off somebody else's idea, we will know.
Remember that, although HearthCards is awesome, you MUST host your card somewhere other than Hearthcards. Save it and upload it toImgur, Photobucket, or some other similar site. HearthCards has a limited server space and will purge cards after a few days, and nobody wants your card disappearing part-way through the finals. We understand that there are some HearthCards memberships that will allow you to save your card there for longer (and you should totally get one of those just for general fan creation purposes, by the way), but we don't know who has those memberships and we can't tell from the URLs.
Fun and even humorous entries are perfectly allowed, but "troll" entries will be disqualified. If you're worried that your card may be misinterpreted as a troll card, contact a moderator before you submit.
TIP: Though not a rule exactly, we highly recommend that you insert your images using this icon on the bar above the post text editor: . Just click that button and put in the URL of your image. Cards that are uploaded and attached to your post are not disallowed, but in our experience they will not do nearly as well, so this is for your own benefit more than anything.
Finally, know that manipulating votes in any way is strictly forbidden. Any violators will receive an official warning, and will be banned from this and all future HearthPwn Card Design Competitions.
Competition Process
NOTE: Mini-Competitions have very different time-tables than our normal competitions, so please pay attention so that you're not caught off-guard!
Entry Phase and Early Voting (Starts Now! Ends 20:00 UTC Thursday, 8/Dec/2016) It is during this Phase that you may submit entries to the Submission Topic. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like! Note that this is only 24 hours! Voting Phase (Starts 20:00 UTC Thursday, 8/Dec/2016, 00:00 UTC Friday, 9/Dec/2016) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! Note that this is only 4 hours! Final Phase (Starts 00:00 UTC Friday, 9/Dec/2016, 20:00 UTC Friday, 9/Dec/2016) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a new Poll Topic will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Poll Topic, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and poll to decide the winner of the competition!
How do we determine the qualifying finalists? First, we'll pull up-vote data from each submission using the formula detailed below:
(ab) / (c) = x
Where, a = The total number of submissions on the same page as the submission. b = The total number of up-votes that the submission received. c = The total number of up-votes on the same page as the submission. x = The submission's final score.
The formula basically measures which cards stood out the most, with the necessary assumption that each page is about equal in overall submission quality. It will be the entries that receive the highest final scores that move on to the Final Phase.
The bottom line is that, although entries on the earlier pages of the Submission Topic are much more visible and thus receive many more up-votes than entries on later pages, you don't actually have to rush to get your entry in as soon as possible because the up-votes end up being weighted by what page your entry ends up on in order to determine its final score.
But wait, there's more! During each Card Design Competition, each Fan Creation Forum moderators will be given a Wild Card, which they can use to advance any one entry that they feel was initially overlooked or under-appreciated to the Final Phase, regardless of its final score. Wild Cards are our way of spicing things up a bit, but please don't ask to be given one or be upset if you aren't given one. These are just supposed to be fun. (Also, it should go without saying that, while we moderators are allowed to participate in the competitions, we are not allowed to benefit from Wild Cards.)
Rewards
Note that Mini-Competition winners, unfortunately, do not get to select any future competition theme.
Bragging rights are always awesome, but as usual, we do offer a couple of HearthPwn site rewards to competition winners: Their card forever immortalized in our Winners' Gallery! And a unique Avatar Border & "Card Design Champion" Title, as depicted below!
I chose my good ol friend War Golem. Wanna know why?
Remember Ironbark Protector? In the early days it was used in ramp druids as a wat to drop a strong late game minion (besides Ancient of War, Ragaros and Ysera).
I always liked War Golem (nice golden, btw), and felt bad about it being always forgotten, so I decided to give it a nicec push, this way I would expect druid to run War Golems as 1: budget alternative to Ancient of War. 2: Taunts to play before big minions like Ironbark Protector or Ragnaros the Firelord.
This is an idea I had a while ago, and this topic might need some example, so I'll go ahead and submit it.
Taking a cue from Injured Blademaster, Reckless Rocketeer goes from being completely worthless to something that might not be unplayable in Priest, Shaman, and Warrior. Priest's Circle of Healing and other healing potential make it a big charge minion that can stick around, Shaman's Ancestral Healing takes it a step further and gives it Taunt, and Warrior would love a Charge minion that goes ahead and damages itself as a target for Rampage and more. Plus, this is super thematically fitting. I mean, she's reckless and she's riding a rocket. Her injuring herself is inevitable.
Buffing the Doc's healing by one, to bring it to the level of Earthen Ring Farseer, which is a neutral healing card that actually does see play. A more defensive statline helps the Doc clear small minions while not being so weak to pings. Maybe it'll see play as a low drop for defensive decks? (At least, when Mistress of Mixtures isn't in Standard)
Ironforge Rifleman is notoriously bad, so I thought I'd try to make it better. Now, it's anti-Taunt tech. It's already quite good against Infested Tauren, but with Brann Bronzebeard, it takes out a lot of common higher health Taunt minions itself, as well.
Three years ago, Novice Engineer was a 1/2 and a two of in every non-aggro deck. The extra point of toughness put Engineer out of hero powers and made the body relevant, and the immediate draw made Engineer a fine draw even in the late game. My delay shaves off a lot of the late game power, which in turn allows for a larger early game booty.
At 6 mana this guy doesn't have anywhere near the combo potential of Evolved Kobold, so why not give new players some power to play with? I mean, he's an Archmage for goodness sake, you'd think he'd pack more punch! Looking at other Basic cards Spell Damage drops one stat point (eg Chillwind Yeti -> Ogre Magi) so dropping two stat points for two Spell Damage seems pretty logical to me.
Instead of a token Boar, she summons the actual Stonetusk Boar. It's still a 3/4 for 3 with a divided body, but now part of that package has initiative to help win the early game or provide a ping.
This card now deal 5 damage and have an aggressive stat. This will make new player learn that some card is played because of the Battlecry effect. They can compare this to a good stat minion like Stranglethorn Tiger and decide to play for body or for effect.
New player can also learn a combo play using this card and bounce effect. Using Youthful Brewmaster or Ancient Brewmaster as a start to learn, they will understand that Battlecry effect have a good combo with bounce effect.
Advance player can use this card as a finisher card with Brann Bronzebeard, Shadowstep, and other bounce effect.
A great card for hunters (and probably some other classes as well), but at the cost of your Hero Power so the smORC potential isn't all that high. Oh Snap(jaw)!
An updated Raid Leader, similar to Stormwind Champion, but is cheap enough that you can use it to make some advantageous trades without losing tempo. He is best held to buff up multiple minions before they attack (like how Dire Wolf Alpha is used), rather than being played on curve, thus providing a learning opportunity for a new player to Hearthstone; something a basic card should focus on doing.

You can find me here! Good luck everyone!
I know some decks were this buff would make it very playable. It's more or less a 2 dmg battlecry, but with hand buffs it can be so much more I feel.

Just saw SWGolgoth had a similar idea. Decided to just keep it simple.

An attempt to make a tankier version of the unused card. Still pretty basic, but could see some use in hard control decks.
My buff to Nightblade
This card now deal 5 damage and have an aggressive stat. This will make new player learn that some card is played because of the Battlecry effect. They can compare this to a good stat minion like Stranglethorn Tiger and decide to play for body or for effect.
