Personally i think that it is a very good card, seen it run in various decks. However, most of the shaman decks that i see don't run even a single copy of it. Is there any particular reason?
I think a lot of Shaman decks have enough taunts with the feral spirits, also, most want to play fire elementals on turn 6, so choose to overload themselves on turn 4. Which means they would miss the turn 5 belcher drop. Not sure though, might work out ok with belchers.
I run 1 belcher in my shaman control list. I will be most sad the day Azure Drake stops being the auto include 5 drop for shamans. It depends really on what your deck wants to do, really. I wouldn't be opposed to Belcher x2 in something like crusher shaman

I've basically had to move to an anti-aggro style of Shaman due to all the Hunters, and I run Belchers.
You have your legendary, totems, Argent Defender and Feral Spirits already, diminishing returns on Taunt is pretty high.
Makes a lot of sense.
Thanks guys.

I am actually using Sludge Belcher in my Shaman Control deck to protect my utility totems; Mana Tide Totem, Vitality Totem, and Flametongue Totem
Having a great deal of success with it, especially with all the Handlocks running about
