I've never reached Legend before, but I managed to hit rank 1 in April. This season though, climbing is harder for some reason. Are there any changes to the deck I can make to increase my winrate?
I really like Archmage Vargoth in my control shaman. Besides having some great spell targets (Rain of Toads, Far Sight, Haunting Visions in my build), he can also be played turn 4 to draw out premium removal. The omegle defenders honestly seem very weak here. I've been thinking about cutting Elysiana and Shudderwok due to finding I play them very little anymore. I used to run into more control or bomb warriors before but the meta has shook the frequency of those to be much less.
when using omega defender i would also add a Coppertail Imposter . I also prefer 1x Harrison over 2x Ozze. I also think it´s a good option to run lightning bolt.
I think Lightning Storm is way too weak in a meta where you face Token Druid or Zoolock once every 50 games (at least from my experience).
Two oozes seems bad to me, it's only good in exactly the Rogue match-up and completely useless in any other match-up. I'd replace it with x1 Harrison Jones, which does the same thing, but at least you can draw cards against Warriors.
The Toads/warmage/stormchaser package hasn't been really impressive to me. Toads are good, against Rogue, but that's it, and the huge overload you have the next turn is not worth it imo. I gotta say, Warmage feels good most of the time, but having to run 4 others cards that I feel are bad to make Warmage active meh.
Thalnos seems bad. Only good with Lightning Storm, which I would recommend cutting one unless you see a lot of token decks (but from what I understand it's more of a rank 10 and above thing). ----------------
Ok so what I think actually : On my last 100 games, 87% of my matches are against either Rogue, Control Warrior, Bomb Hunter or Mage. So you want to be good against those, not against tokens/nomi priests or whatever.
Against Rogue you want : Harrison Jones, Walking Fountain, Witch's Brew Warrior : Unseen Saboteur (most of the Warriors I face are Meca'thun and this card makes instant win), Elysianna, value in general Bomb Hunter : Earth shock, Walking Fountain Mage : Zentimo+Hex combo maybe ? Haven't actually tried it yet.
I'm double posting because the first one was kinda long already ;
How I like to build Control Shaman atm, is with the Nimbus Elemental + 3/3 Element for 3 that shadowstep one of your minions + Earthen Might. Having some board early is really good against all the decks exept maybe Mage. The 3/3 elemental can also provide insane amount of value in the warrior match-up if you use it on Hagatha. And Earthen might on turn 10 with Walking Fountain makes some great healing, as well as being good of course early on Nimbus. It also gives value to your totems that you can buff to trade things up, as most people won't trade your totems if they realize you are control shaman.
Hunterace version is built to face a lot of Zoolocks in worlds. Pyro + acolyte + 0 mana spell isn't a great build for ladder, it's bad against both Warriors and Rogues which is gonna be 60% of your matches.
2x Witch's Brew: I often find the heal winning me both matches against tempo decks, because they run out of tempo and control warrior because can help in the fatigue game (often it doesn't but it can)
2x Mind Control Tech has saved me many games against Conjurer mage on their Khadgar turn. Also nice with Shudderwock to claim back the board.
1x Giggling Inventor because it's great stall and has better synergy with shudderwock than any of the cards cut.
I also run only 1x Lightning Storm and no Bloodmage Thalnos because I feel that's too weak against pretty much all decks except for Zoolock and Murloc Shaman. And I don't run Doomsayers because they don't help me against Rogue and Warrior.

This I can confirm
I moved away from Big Bad Voodoo because often the result is bad or I lack viable targets
Also just saying, but if you managed to hit rank 1 with this exact build, reaching Legend should be viable without making any changes.
True, but maybe someone has another variant that did reach Legend.
Also thank everyone for your suggestion, I will look into them. But Harrison Jones is never better than Ooze in most match-ups. And is Hecklebot really better than Omega Defender when most of the decks I face are Rogue and Hunter? It could ruin Warrior's fatigue plan though.
Stupid question perhaps, but Unseen Saboteur doesn't beat Warrior all the time right? I just played a game against Mecha'Thun and hit The Boomship which summoned Malygos and I could not kill that. But even if I had Hex, can't the opponent just get rid of all his cards and play a 10/10 which either kills me or wins the game when it dies?
Looks solid, not sure what changes can be made but usually I only play with 1 copy of Storm Chaser because often times I draw all the spells before the second copy does anything and ideally you want to get the scheme in your mulligan for alot of matchups.
Witch's brew is very important and usually i get copies of it with kragwa, and i use spirit and 1 mana spells to be sure i circle thru the deck quickly, and get that 2 mana spell when i face aggro or tempo stuff like druid, hunter or rogue.
Against slower, control opponents, i m looking for storm chaser to get the scheme early in the game.
Hecklebot is very good against aggro or combo, and when i play it against control i make sure i have a hex in hand.
Big game hunter is a keep when i face mages.
Edit: i play for fun though, laddering is for other decks, faster ones.
My Control Shaman has cards that give it an early presence and a lot of times I will win purely by sticking a threat on board and hitting face. I run Sludge Slurpers for the battlecries, Menacing Nimbus for extra value, Twilight Drake as a legit threat, and Fire Elementals for the same reason. Rain of Toads could also be considered a threat. Against Warrior, I play 1 threat and hit them til they remove it. Then repeat. I have the fatigue package as well with Elysiana. Mage is probably the most difficult matchup. I tried BGH but felt it was a little underwhelming. MC Tech same thing. I'm actually going to try the Zentimo/Hex approach.

I did use a single copy of both Storm Chaser and Rain of Toads, but I really like the Tempo Sunreaver Warmage provides. The only downside it has is that Shudderwock targets randomly. I could drop that core but I would at least run a single copy of Storm Chaser as finding Scheme as soon as possible is a must.
Many people suggested Witch's Brew, but I found this card to be one of the weakest in the deck. Are you sure it's a staple?

Looks interesting. I personally prefer the Dragon-package, but I'll try this one out and get back to you ;)
EDIT: had to craft Swampqueen though, feelsbadman

in my opinion:
- 2x Sludge Slurper
+ 2x Doomsayer
- 2x Omega Defender
+ 2x Hecklebot
- 1x Rain of Toads
+1x Acidic Swamp Ooze
Hey man, the deck already has 2 Oozes and Doomsayers KAPPA

just play hunterace version+elysiana rain of toads so useless

Instead of 2x Storm Chaser, 2x Sunreaver Warmage and 2x Rain of Toads (so the 5 cost spell package if you will) I'm running:
2x Witch's Brew: I often find the heal winning me both matches against tempo decks, because they run out of tempo and control warrior because can help in the fatigue game (often it doesn't but it can)
2x Mind Control Tech has saved me many games against Conjurer mage on their Khadgar turn. Also nice with Shudderwock to claim back the board.
1x Giggling Inventor because it's great stall and has better synergy with shudderwock than any of the cards cut.
1x Earth Shock for cards like Twilight Drake in conjurer Mage or against mech hunter

Instead I'm running more of a "draw-Package" with
2x Acolyte of Pain
2x Twilight Drake
Apart from Deck my Control Shaman is the same. I can also give on this Knowledge but I won't explain because Time exists:
Baleful Banker is pretty bad (who would have thought... I still had to try though)
This I can confirm

Understandable ;)
What about Mana Tide Totem? I've been trying him out in Control Shaman recently (Twilight Drakes are added as well).

You can't win every game.
