Really excited about this one. Despite being my 36th 12-win overall, it was my first with Hunter! A class that I tend not to choose in Arena and one that I've never been too good with. I never expected such an easy path to 12 wins with a 68.8 tier score hunter deck tbh. Now I'm only missing Priest to complete the 12 win fiesta.
Obvious MVP was 2x Call of the Wild, which closed so many games. Savannah Highmane on curve was also pretty devastating. But overall, the greatest thing was the surprising amount of reach this deck had, which allowed me to develope an aggro-control strategy, zoo styled, which was much better for my playstyle than a pure aggro deck. I always had control of the board, and if I lost it was when my opponent was already at 10- health, when I could close the deal just with my hero power.
First Un'Goro 12 win! Achieved it with this great versatile Mage deck. I usually played the control-value game with cards like 3x Shimmering Tempest,Pyros, Primordial Glyph, Acolyte of Pain and late game removals such asMeteor, Firelands Portal and Primordial Drake, but some matches I got to be be the agressor, allowed by having so many early drops, specially the 2x Mana Wyrm. The amazing elemental synergy was really helpful, plus Pyros was much better that what I expected.
The craziest match was the last boss. I managed to get and Ozruk from my Servant of Kalimos on turn 7. My opponent got lucky with a Firelands Portal into a Doomguard (removing my Servant). On turn 8, I put 3 elementals on board to make my Ozruk a 5/20 taunt on turn 9! I was lost if he had any form of silence. Luckily for me, he didn't! Here's that last match replay: https://hsreplay.net/replay/s6DWa4vvvnZqxqeMKVMUDZ#turn=8a
This expansion feels easier than previous ones. I normally average like 6.5 wins, though I'm now at 7 in this expansion, with multiple 12 wins (6 in 31 runs so far).
This is my 3rd 12 win with Warlock in my last 4 Arenas with this class (the other one went 9-3). It's completely sick. This is a really solid midrange deck with plenty of removal (early removal, large removal, AoE, you name it), and a very nice curve, with good early game, solid midgame and enough threats for the late game.
Felfire Potion won me some games by itself, and Abyssal Enforcer was amazing as usual, as well as Blastcrystal Potion to remove that big taunt for going lethal. But one card that surprised me and worked really well, much more than I had expected, was Bloodfury Potion. With so many demons (7), I didn't have trouble finding targets, and it always was a great tempo play, as no one expect buffs from a Warlock. Specially when playing on curve, buffing small demons like Flame Imp, Voidwalker, Mistress of Pain or Imp Gang Boss.
My second 12 Win deck with Warlock in a row, not nearly as powerful as the last one, but it got the job done somehow (going first in most of my games and drawing a 1-drop nearly every time on turn 1 helped a lot). Warlock seems to be the easy mode of Arena right now, seeing the results people are having with it. I played 3 times with Warlock since Gadgetzan, and 2 of them were 12 wins, for a 9.7 win rate. It's really sick.
This deck had really nothing spectactular. No Abyssal or Felfire Potion meant no easy mass removal (I had Shadowflame which was good but much more difficult to set up), I just played zoo style the first turns, while in the midgame I played the token game, trying to create a big board with many cheap minions and cards like Imp-losion and Kara Kazham! to then seal the deal with my win conditions: Stormwind Champion, Mukla's Champion, Frostwolf Warlord or Enhance-o Mechano.
Lack of Mages was really helpful (only faced one at 1-0), as Flamestrike would have been pretty devastating for this type of deck. My only loss was at 7-0 against a really sick Priest deck with solid early game and amazing late game (Dragonfire Potion, Entomb, Mind Control, you name it).
Another 12 win with Warlock, my 2nd with this class and 31th overall. Warlock is undoubtedly the new mage in Arena nowadays, face 6 of them of which 2 were my losses, while 4 of them were at the final games of the run (except the boss which was a Hunter, oddly). Plus, this was my second best deck in all the 277 I recorded with Heartharena, with a 74.4 tier score. That doesn't guarantee sucess by itself but really makes things much easier.
I had so much reach and finishers with 2 Power Overwhelming, 2 Doomguard, Darkbomb, North Sea Kraken and the amazing Abyssal Enforcer. Add that to a solid overall minion quality (maybe a bit light on 2 drops, but I had the luck to draw them on curve except on one of my losses), good curve and enough removals and you have a 12 win deck.
I Went 12-1 with this just ok Rogue deck, my 30th 12 win and my 9th with this class. I've never expected 12 wins when I drafted it, it doesn't have anything spectacular, specially because I haven't been having too much success with Rogue since Gadgetzan release. But good opening hands, taking the board quickly and putting some damage to face while playing around the first AoE did the trick. Only lost to a Mage in the first game, before a 12 win streak.
After so much time I finally got my first 12 win with Warrior! It was my 29th overall. Only Hunter and Priest left for me.
Nothing very flashy, but an amazing tempo deck with lots of weapons. I could control the board from the beggining most of the matches very easily, and at least half of the games I was able to rush for lethal on turns 6-8. Of the 14 matches, only 2 got to 10 minutes of duration and 5 of them were less than 5 minutes.
I beat a Mage with Ragnaros the Firelord at 6-0. Then a Druid with Deathwing at 7-0. I was cruising this run, really. Until I got 10-0 and things started to get difficult. First a Warrior that managed to outvalue me with his Fool's Bane, and then a Mage with Portals and stuff at 10-1. Thanks got I was able to recover and finish with 12 wins, otherwise I would have been very salty (I really wanted a 12 win run with Warrior).
MVPs were weapons in general. But also Obsidian Destroyer on curve was so powerful and allowed me to keep SMOrcing. And Heroic Strike was the best finisher I could ask for. So many games, including final boss against Warlock, I won with exact lethal by buffing a weapon with Heroic Strike.
Pretty standard mage deck, surprised I went 12-0 with it actually. But the unbelievable thing were the matches I had. Only 1 rogue and 1 mage on the entire run. Faced 2 Druids, 2 Hunters, 2 Shamans, 2 Warriors, 1 Priest, 1 Warlock 1 Rogue and 1 mage. Only Paladin left. The last games, were you usually face mage after mage after mage, were: Shaman at 7-0, Hunter at 8-0, Priest at 9-0 and Warrior at 10 and 11-0. That's something you don't see every day.
Last boss against a golden Warrior was trully epic, grindy as hell and him losing over fatigue.
Yet another 12 win Mage deck, my 7th with this class and 27th in total. This one was only slightly above average, but that was good enough to win most of the matches with ease. Only lost to a Druid at 5-0 mainly because of bad draws (couldn't drop any minions for the first 3 turns), but I won against the same guy 2 games later. Rewards were nice, the TGT pack gave me a Nexus-Champion Saraad :)
Note: It was weird that only 4 of my 13 games were against Mages, same amount as Paladins. Also, 3 of my last 4 were against Paladins, all with a lot of Muster for Battle and Silvermoon Portals. Lastly, no Shamans, which was also odd.
Solid aggro Rogue deck. Didn't have one clear MVP, it was more a team work. Didn't feel like a 12 win deck at first, let alone a 12-0 one. Knowing when to trade and when to start pressing going face was the key, I think. Most of the matches were pretty easy. Final boss was mage, I faced the same guy at 10-0 and 11-0, won both easily (sorry, ManglePants).
Yet another 12 win mage deck. 8 of my 14 games, including the last 6, were against mages. Arena is just silly now. This one was a good enough control deck with a good number of removals and plenty of threats to outvalue my opponent at the late game. My 2 losses were of course against mages who had more Firelands Portals than me.
Crazy aggro Rogue deck, zoo styled. Could have been 12-0, but in one of the few even matches with a Pally a failed to drop a 3\2 when the rope was pressing, which was determinant for that loss. Preety much always had perfect drops with such a low curve, and could flood the board very easily, while using the dagger (pretty much my only removal, but greatly backed withBuccaneer, Deadly Poison and 4 (!) Goblin Auto-Barber) to remove my opponent's minions. Even the AoE spells that my opponents used were not much of an issue, with me having the possibility to just flood the board again the next turn (luckily I didn´t face 2 AoE in a row, because that would have killed me).
The 3 big drops were so meant for this deck. Fel Reaver was great in such an aggro deck to start pushing for lethal as quickly as turn 5 (never had to worry about its drawback), and Sea Giant served the same purpose (usually could drop it around turn 6, some times even at turn 5). Finally, Stormwind Champion helped me close so many games providing lethal, helping me remove a big taunt or allowing me to avoid a complete Flamestrike wipe.
The other unexpected mvp was Jeeves. I hesitated to pick it (it was the last pick of the draft) even though it was the perfect deck for it, mainy because I never used it. But it was simply amazing, letting me vomit my hand with no fear of mass removals because I could just repeat the whole thing with the draw it provided.
Notable pick: on pick 23, I chose Shieldbearer over Fossilized Devilsaur, despite Heartharena's suggestion. I thought it could prove useful as a tempo play to protect my weak minions and go face, and I didn't made a mistake there, as it turned out to be exactly what I was going for.
A 12-2 Paladin deck, my 7th with the class, 23rd overall. It had been a while since I had a 12 win with Pally. This one had nothing too spectacular, just a solid deck with good quality minion, a good curve and 3x Truesilver Champion + 1 Muster for Battle, which were the mvps of the run. Lost to another Paladin at 6-0 and a Rogue at 11-1.
My first 12-win with Warlock! I'm super happy. It was my worst class in win rate in arena, even worse than warrior. This time I learned from experience: I have a very good win rate against warlock (almost 80%), but the ones that beat me always are the zoo styled decks. So this time I said fuck Heartharena, I'm going to try to make something similar to a zoo deck in Arena. And knowing that from the beggining was the key for success, I believe. It turned out to be an insane deck, with really good curve, almost always with a 1 drop in turn 1, a 2 in 2 and so on. Lots of early removal to help me control the board from the start which also served as burst to close games. Great quality minion overall, good taunts to defend my board allowing me to continue the face damage. Very good big drops. Frostwolf Warlord was always very big. Bane of Doom was always insane. Imp-losion was really important. Didn't even notice the lack of 4 drops, as I always had other thing to drop on that turn. I won a lot of games by turn 7.
2 Losses were against Mage at 4-0 and Rogue at 9-1. Amazingly, final boss was another warlock. And I got to do something I never had done before: getting value from Light's Champion. I had achieved control of board, when in turn 4 he drops his second Imp Gang Boss in a row, and that's when I drew it. I couldn't believe it.
Also, it has been my shortest time between 2 12-win runs, with 2 12 wins in the last 3 I played.
Really excited about this one. Despite being my 36th 12-win overall, it was my first with Hunter! A class that I tend not to choose in Arena and one that I've never been too good with. Rewards were pretty good as well.
