Timer. Obviously players can't have infinite time, but damn this is implemented horribly.
What I don't get is the animations and the amount of time they take. The game should be able to handle opening a menu in less than a second, so that you have to sit through unskippable animation of one or both heroes exploding and then a popup that tells you who won is unacceptable. Furthermore, the game would work just as well, if not better, if it was completely text based, so it really baffles me Blizzard chose to have a game engine that renders the board in 3D and treats cards as physical objects - a decision that has led to a ton of bugs and performance issues.
