I wanted to try out the warrior quest warrior, after the recent buffs, so i copied a generic decklist from hsreplay.
usually I don't have a lot of trouble picking up new decks. i am not the most active player, but i've been playing the game for a long time and have hit legend several times with almost all classes. why i'm writing this post is, because i am not very experienced with pirate warrior decks, and clearly i am doing something wrong, because after 11 games now, I only managed to win one mirror game and one very close one vs mage.
to me the deck feels too "fair" for a win-by-turn-7-or-8 meta. there are no insane mana cheat, and the quest reward comes late and doesnt win you the game, in contrast to the other quest decks. but according to hsreplay the deck has a 54% WR in the category "diamond through legend", which is where i play most of my games, so most likely the ploblem is not the deck, but me.
i am especially struggling vs mages, a matchup that should be very much in my favor, according to the stats. what is my best line of play vs a mage? i am adding a few replays, maybe you can spot some issues with my play & decision making. it's not that easy to find good replays, because somehow i feel like mage just high rolls every single game.
https://hsreplay.net/replay/HLZxTe56jhUJZouHnT7rDe - Mage. probably the best draw possible for me, still almost lost. mistake on turn 6, bc i mixed up the damage conditions for the pirate and the damage spell.
I am curious to hear some input, how to pilot this deck correctly. do you think it could be stronger if i omit the quest and just go for a lower curve face deck? the reward just feels so underwhelming.

https://hsreplay.net/replay/8oMUmZMSu72yA29Ebefac3 - Mage. i can't really decide if this is a face deck or not. should i be trading or do i just play this like a hunter deck?

https://hsreplay.net/replay/8UnnoxeCq34pWKg2boGKTi - Shaman. my quest reward feels kinda useless compared to all other quest decks which win the turn after they play it (DH, Mage, Warlock, Shaman)
