2-Cost 1/4; Battlecry: After you play a Battlecry minion, repeat the first Battlecry played this turn.
He seems fun in Wild, which explains why most of this thread so far is about Wild interactions, but it's been hard to find Battlecries in Standard that are cheap enough and good enough to want to repeat. Has anyone experienced any real success there?
This deck (or one containing this combo) was theorycrafted before launch of the expansion. I opened Bolner in a pack recently and decided to give it a whirl. I got the combo like one time on a real opponent. It was glorious.
But as you may suspect, it's super slow for this meta, unfortunately. Not very consistent.
It's because you can't target with a card if you don't play it, same with randomly cast spells.
Bolner is supposed to double the battlecry. With Brann and even the battlecry Quest shaman has, it doesn't work this way. If you play a Venomous Scorpid you should discover 2 spells, not discover 1 and then add a random one to your hand.
But he doesn't actually double the battlecry, he activates the battlecry of the first battlecry minion you played every time you play subsequent battlecry minions.
So you play Bolner, then a Primal Dungeoneer, then an Armor Vendor, after you play the armor vendor, you will get another activation of primal dungeoneer.
And then if you were able to play any further battlecries that turn, they will all cause another activation of Primal Dungeoneer.
When you only play one battlecry minion after Bolner, it appears as though its doubling it, but it's activating his specific effect of replaying the first one again, so it appears as though it was just doubled.
That's an interesting find, I wasn't aware it functioned that way.
I guess this limits his power to battlecries with specific targets or none at all. Otherwise you could end up hurting yourself with stuff or even buffing the enemy minions.
I wonder if this is actually intended?
