Yes that's why I said to hard mulligan for Wildfire, cause if the 2 are stuck in the deck, you're in trouble haha.
Hope you enjoy it and get lucky with the Wildfires.
If you end up playing that deck and improving it please tell me what changes you make !
And if you ask me why no Frost Giant.. It's because I forgot that it existed, and since the deck worked fine I decided to not give a shit about it. Frost giant is better in the non-reno version, more focused on tempo, this is a control deck.
Ok, I understand. I think we can agree with each other.
btw thats some cool even mage deck u have there. i would give it a spin but i wager it doesnt do well against APM mage? i dont wanna auto lose against 22% of my ladder games
Thank you. I didn't face APM mage particularly often, but when I did I won the game by vomiting every minion in my hand as fast as I could, every time. Then again, if they go off on turn 4, yes you will lose with that deck. But if they go off on turn 6-7, it should be fine, and you can recover with reno.
You can also include Ring Toss and try to ruin their combo with Ice Block.
I wouldn't go as far as saying it is a good matchup, it probably isn't, but my short experience and low sample size tell me it's not a horrible matchup. Definitely not auto lose.
reasonable? take you blindfold off my dude. yes insanely lucky, and no, any other play from the pirate warrior wouldnt have change the course of the match, with those 2 apprentices out and luna he would have cycled for more if needed, he didnt need to play any spell from evocation since that was the last card to do the lethal.
they needed those exact cards, and btw very well played by the mage since they tried to go for it, with some very well placed order so that they can make use of their mana properly, but it comes off as a huge scam when they can play 10 mana worth of minions alone.
If the evocation spells were all high cost spells (which is likely in Wild), the loop would have ended there. Most of the time when I play against APM mage, this happens between turn 6 and 8. By that time, i usually have a board big enough to soak hundreds of damage ticks, since APM mage is usually not going to be able to clear ANYTHING before their big swing turn.
I like how you feel a lucky APM mage win on turn 4 comes of as a huge scam but pirate warrior casually doing 22 damage in 4 turns sounds perfectly fine to you. I'd say YOU take you blindfold off my dude. Either you think both decks are a problem in this replay, or both decks are fine. Give 1 bad draw to the APM mage and the pirate warrior wins on turn 5 with no possible counterplay from the APM mage.
its an aggro deck. plenty of aggro deck do lethal dmg by turn 5 if left unchecked. u can still do countrerplay remove their minions and a bunch of other stuff to avoid getting killed. thats why theres two player going at it. the mage plays cant be countered as easily.
yes it was a play once in a thousand but it was a reply to your question "I don't know how it would be possible to summon multiple apprentices and a flamewaker and then vomit 20+ spells, with 4 mana cristals."
i showed it to you how it was possible and then u go off of your way to almost dismiss it. you even say the warrior could have won by playing more board? all the plays involved maxing out the minions on board. so i have no idea why u seem so mad. ive given u proof of how its possible to play 10 mana worth of minions and a bunch of spells to otk the opponent and u still tried to dismissed it. yes insanely lucky, but the possibility is there. your question was answered. that was the whole point- you seem to have a chip on your shoulder cause it was with a pirate warrior. trust me there are a lot of more powerfull decks than pirate warrior so dont play it like its a super broken deck cause it isnt.
I'm not trying to dismiss it I'm sorry for the confusion. You answered my question and I moved to another point. I understand now how it is possible to win on turn 4 with APM mage, and I also understand how incredibly lucky it is. You didn't just answer my question you used it to argue that APM mage is a problem. I argue that it isn't, simple as that, I'm not mad at you.
And I have absolutely nothing against pirate warrior, not even when it was a standard deck and the entire community just outraged, I defended it. Just as I have nothing against APM mage. The only difference between these 2 decks is popularity. But if you have a problem with mage winning on turn 4, you must have a problem with warrior winning on turn 4, that is my whole point. You can't just say thing like "but its aggro so it's ok !" well then, APM mage is an aggro deck if that makes you feel better.
And no, APM mage cannot counterplay aggro decks, if they use ressources to clear the board, they won't have enough for their combo turn. So don't pretend that your deck is more interactive or something, it's just a different playstyle. APM mage vs aggro is probably the single most uninteractive matchup in the game, on both sides.
I still haven't lost to APM mage, it's legit the easiest deck to counter and the most overrated deck in the world just vomit your hand, build a board and they're done, it's hilarious. They must be extremely lucky with draw order to win on turn 4 because I have not seen this and I don't know how it would be possible to summon multiple apprentices and a flamewaker and then vomit 20+ spells, with 4 mana cristals.
Darkglare warlock haven't seen it in weeks. And I agree that it's a much more consistent and powerful deck overall.
If these are the problematic decks in Wild then yeah the format is good and stable.
Personally I'm enjoying Wild and I don't think any balance change is needed right now, the format has more than enough cards and counter plays to balance itself out when necessary.
I am currently on a massive win streak with Reno Even mage, it seems nothing can resist my meme energy. Wild is more balanced than Standard.
could you maybe share your reno even mage deck? :)
Of course I am happy to, I hope you get as much success as I do.
Let me build the deck in Hearthpwn deck builder I will edit my post.

Thanks. So he was insanely lucky and he almost got killed by pirate warrior on turn 4 before going off. Had the pirate warrior played a little more for board and a little less for face damage, he would have won.

edit :
Hard mulligan for Wildfire.
Don't hesitate to experiment, plenty of non-essential cards in the deck like the lich king, witchdoctor, thalnos..
