The main and first post of this topic seems to underline what Wirer explained (in a much better way than I do) a few days ago and that apply also for standard, not only for arena.
Discovering cards can be an ok mechanic, but in some ways it's at the moment too strong because :
1-too much ways of doing it (mage, priest, rogue have way too many cards that discover something)
2-other class' possibilities of countering them are not strong enough (except for one or two matchups)
Don't get me wrong, I love this mechanic and I love priest and rogue so it's not a complain.
But it's sometimes hard to deal with a defeat against those decks because it's a random results oriented (eg. when where you play Souls or Libram, weapon rogue or druid quest it's not).
That said and like others mentioned : playing arena is discovering cards anyway even if the manner is different.
However, the dual class is not the norm and I personally love arena at the moment and I don't really know why people seem to not enjoy it as much as before (preferring BG?).
