Battlegrounds is based on increasing your rating over time. If you consistently play above average you'll increase your rating.
Going first 4 times out of 10 in one game isn't going to affect your rating across 100 games. Just think you have the same chance to go first every time in one game as you do to go second 😉.
Going first or not seems to only be an issue for some when they don't go first. It probably never registers with them when they go first and win.
One more thing is that people tend to forget that Illidan guarantees going first. Heck, not only going first, but having two attacks before opponent even starts. And yet Illidan is considered a bottom tier hero. Yeah, this thread is typical bias. Someone lost a game due to going second and they think it's an issue, while it's not.
Then come up with a solution that will be fair for everyone instead of being an ass. You can make people who fought themselves previously have fixed order of attack (if in the last battle you attacked first, now they do). But in fights between players who haven't battled before there's no other solution than a coin flip.
If you are player A and fight player B, C and D, each for the first time, and every time you attack second, it's fair.
