What deck are you guys playing that can’t deal with Druid? There are plenty of classes that have hard counters to them (priest, warrior shaman and warlock just off the top of my head) and several neutral techs (creatures can get around evasive). Druid doesn’t need nerfs, players just need to learn to make a few tech slots in their net deck to deal with whatever deck of the week they are facing that week.
I think it has more to do with Embiggen into Breath of Dreams. The playing those early basically shoots up your win % massively, same deal with Ancharr.
I think it is losing argument to say that when a deck draws well, it wins more games and this is problematic. I think just about every deck has that characteristic. If you draw high cost cards early, your win percentage goes down. Embiggen into breath is strong, but embiggen at the bottom of the deck isn’t. The current Druid deck is a response to the hunter and rogue meta we have had, as aggro doesn’t do well against big taunts and life gain while rogue lacks multi-target removal and non-targeted removal. Play a deck that counters that strategy or at least tech in some extra removal or silence. Hard casting an expensive embiggen minion to have it silenced and Leeroy going face is just one way to punish the extremely greedy embiggen strategy.
I don't disagree with you, but win percentages are shooting up like 20% which means it's just a highroll deck and typically those are feel bad mechanics. It was the same reason they nerfed barnes in Wild. If you pulled that card it just basically won you the game, which doesn't feel interactive to play against.
I think we are arguing the same point. The win percentages are high but will drop drastically, even for that combo if the majority of players wouldn’t strictly netdeck and learned how to properly tech. I’m not saying don’t netdeck at all and I’m not saying there isn’t a huge boost to the game when embiggen is followed by ramp. My point is that the feel bad mechanics of Druid high rolling would be negated if more players learned how to do basic deck design and rotate five or less cards to focus on beating Druid or whatever deck they are having trouble with at that rank.
im playing Highlander Priest with lots of techs vs druids.
Works pretty fine
Take your pick of priest decks. Res priest runs all over it and Galakrond priest is the weakest Galakrond, but removing embiggen minions is pretty sweet. Mass hysteria, mass silence, infiltrator... priest class is full of silence and removal.
