I am having trouble making it consistent. It is very streaky for me. It does very well if you start with the right cards. After about 20 ranked matches at rank 9-8 I am right back where I started.
Rogue seems to handle it the best. It also does need card draw for sure.
I will keep trying as it's fun and new.
I have played a couple of rogue games, and it works for me because rogues don't heal. On the other hand, priest is a 100% loss.
You really do need the right cards at the start. Either evoke or elemental allies needs to be in the opening hand for most matchups.
I'm having fun though. I've had this handlock who saw me play a zeph on turn one, see it not activate and go "Oops" Only to have his face explode on turn 6. 6 of those lifepoints being taken by zeph.
I made a deck similar but a little different from yours. I don't have Dragonhawk for one.
You should consider calling it Face Mage ;)
How often do you get Zeph to go off with that many duplicates?
What about Animated Avalanche perhaps? IF he's used up all his creature control on your early aggressors two of these guys could be tough to deal with.
I have only played 3 games so far and 2 of the opponents quit early.
You never get zeph to go off, really, but what you need is agressive 2 drop elementals and zeph fits the bill. I had animated avalanche in it earlier, but in this style of deck, you have lost if you didn't already get your opponent in burn range. It is really early game focussed.
I have to say I'm not sure if dragonhawk is really that good. There is a huge gap in mana cost there. She is always active on turn 7 so far, but like I said, at that point you need rag to go face, and in those cases a fireball is more reliable.
How is spirit of the dragonhawk performing? It was terrible in my deck. And how is Chenvaala doing? I don't have it so I can't try it out.
Another card to try is luna for some extra draw, I might replace dragonhawk with it.
I can’t post it right now, but it was an aggressive elemental mage deck with burn and that card that had attack equal to your opponent’s hand size that I saw a streamer play. I added this card and other hero power cards like janalai.
Tested it, loved it. Insane card. Can you imagine playing this on turn one and following it up with a 3 damage hero power on turn 2? I can, did it multiple times already.

Ok, so this is the best turn 1 I ever had. By a mile and a half.
Here is my current, unrefined list:
