I know it won't. Listen to what I'm saying. I'm offering a hypothetical. If the text of Da Undatakah read "Copy the deathrattle effects of three friendly minions that died this game" instead of what it actually says "gain...," then would it go infinite with Recurring Villain? It's not complicated: I think things change a lot if you replace the word "gain" in the text of Da Undatakah with the word "copy." Am I wrong?
I literally answered your question. What part of "It won't" do you not understand?
I guess I need to repeat your question in full when answering it, since you clearly have trouble with comprehension: "No, the Da Undatakah won't go infinite with Recurring Villain even if the text of Da Undatakah read 'Copy the Deathrattle effects of three friendly minions that died this game' instead of 'Gain the Deathrattle effects of three friendly minions that died this game'".
The comparison with Faceless Manipulator fails because Faceless Manipulator transforms himself into a copy of the minion, such that his identity changes to that new minion. So if Faceless Manipulator copies minion with an effect that resummons itself when it dies, the minion that is resummoned will be the minion that was copied (e.g. Recurring Villain), rather Faceless Manipulator itself.
On the other hand, Da Undatakah only gains/copies/whatever-you-want-to-call-it the deathrattle effect, but retains his identity as Da Undatakah. So, when Da Undatakah dies, he resummons a copy of Da Undatakah, NOT a copy of Recurring Villain. And since minions that are summoned instead of played don't trigger their Battlecry, the resummoned Da Undatakah will have no deathrattle effects.
Right, but what I'm asking at this point is, "do you think that if Da Undatakah read 'copy the deathrattle effects of three friendly minions that died this game' (instead of "gain the deathrattle effects...") it would work like I originally thought?"
No, it won't. Listen to what others are saying.
