If Pogo Rogue becomes too popular can Control Shaman deal with it?
Zentimo + Earth Shock maybe?
And Hex, Hagatha's Schemes and BGH, but it still won't be enough to stop their endless waves of Minions. A bane to Control decks, It's like Jade Druid all over again. Luckily Rogues don't have the Heal/ Armor gain that Druid had so Aggro will keep them in check.
Bomb Warrior shouldn't be that hard to be honest; Oozes, Elysianna, Fountains and Kragwa + Witches Brew seems enough to me or have I just been lucky? With Hagatha up you can keep your hand full and overdraw them.
Funny you say that because I'm currently laddering with a "Miracle" build of Control Shaman that uses those cards :p
I'd like to apologize. Contrary to my previous post, I actually did take out Archivist Elysiana (and got 1600 dust for it). Out of 50 games, she was only played once, and I lost that game anyway. It's not good in most match-ups and just clogs the hand. I tried many alternative cards, like Ysera, Swampqueen Hagatha and even Chef Nomi and Hakkar, the Soulflayer. Eventually I settled on Unseen Saboteur, because it helps a bit against the Holy Wrath Paladins I've seen lately, as well as Mecha'thun Warrior. Shudderwock by itself is arguably enough value in Control Games.
I really like Violet Spellsword in my Shaman decks. It has great value because of the number of spells used for control Shaman. Typically she will be at least a 3-4/6 and I even get 5-6/6. Great value for 4 Mana and Shudderwock benefits from it too.
I've actually seen people run Electrowright and Sunreaver Warmage as well, but I don't think there is room for those type of cards in the deck.
Is actually anybody successfuly laddering in the rank 1-5 bracket? I am having huge issues tweaking my decks to counter at the same time mage, rogue and warrior. This is my current deck.
Does anyone have some useful advice? The new card here is Roten Appelbaum. It may seem weird but the extra healing and taunt have actually saved me so many times vs aggro
I have to say I have tried Gaara's deck with spirit of the frog and it was an utter disaster so I'm not going in that direction because I don't know how to use it effectively.
This is just a theorycraft, but this version should be able to check the decks in your meta I think:
Early game removal and cheap value minions (Ooze, Menacing Nimbus, Sludge Slurper) should help with aggressive decks like Rogue, Hunter, Zoo and Murloc Shaman. There is also enough heal to recover once you stabilize. To cover Mages you have double BGH, Hex and Hagatha's Scheme. The deck also has enough value to outlast Control Warrior (with Hagatha + Elysianna + Shudder), Unseen Saboteur wrecks Mecha'thun versions. Bomb Warrior should be manageable as well (try to get Witch's Brew + Krag'wa, the Frog).
This is the version I had most success with. Other version felt way too greedy for me, and I lost most games against any type of Aggro, and sometimes Control match-ups as well (luckiest Elysianna wins). Now my winrate is in the high 60% (rank 10-5).
The early game consists of low costed value-giving minions and cheap removal. If the games go longer there is a lot more value to be gained to grind out those. Tech options can be added depending on your meta, mine was mostly Rogue and Hunter so no need for the likes of Big Game Hunter or Unseen Saboteur.
How are the Mana Tides doing ? Wouldn't Far Sight be better for the potential high roll on Fountain/Hagatha things like that ?
It's at worse a Far Sight that doesn't discount. but it could get value by drawing more, as a minion it activates Hagatha the Witch and can get used with some random spells like Mutate, Bloodlust etc, it baits removal/ "heals" 3 damage from my face etc. I like it more then Spirit of the Frog personally.
The fact that he is still struggling reaching legend while other streamers have got there already says everything about control shaman. It is OK until rank 5. After that it can't cope with the variety of pushing decks

If you're looking for a different kind of Control deck, try out Big Shaman ;)

Archivist Elysiana is only useful against Warrior or other "fatigue" decks. Shudderwock is much more useful in more match-ups.

What do you even drop for Likkim and Feral Spirit? Overload Shaman sounds like an Aggro or Midrange deck xd

If you're running Thunderhead and all those cheap Overload Spell, I think Archivist Elysiana is obligatory to have a chance vs slower decks.

Nice buff to Thunderhead!
Also with the recent nerfs, I face a Shaman like every 4 games, guess we're not the hipsters anymore lol

I think double Bog Slosher is way too greedy, and Krag'wa, the Frog as well imo but it helps vs Warriors I guess. Maybe Hecklebot for their Elysianna or Mecha'thun etc?

Currently trying out a version with Spirit of the Frog and Thunderhead shennanigans. It's actually pretty good!

He reached Legend with only Shaman though.
