Note: I've made such thread in Hearthstone forum as well, but really interested in other's opinions so, here it is as well.
I personally like the support Discardlock is getting, but the one it's getting right now won't do it. Let's start by asking ourselves...why even play deck where you discard random cards? -Discarding for power. That by itself already exists on certain minion and spells alike, so that won't do if it didn't so far, unless perhaps we would go to extreme...but such action would most likely end up in fast nerf of a card/s -Discard not being a pain in the axx. The biggest reason why no one is playing Discardlock is in my opinion and my friends: cause you discard randomly and discarding cards you don't want to discard sucks.
Sooo what's the easiest way to make Discardlock work knowing this? I believe all that it's missing is cards like Silverware Golem, Malchezaar's Imp or Fist of Jaraxxus. Silverware Golem and Imp are one of cards that are included in all existing; even though poor Discardlock decks. Why? Cause Golem if it's discarded provides a big tempo and Imp makes Discarding not hurt so much since you are getting a replacement card from your deck.
What cards to make so that deck would be fun/playable in ladder? Few examples, including from poor to crazy ones: -Assistant Succubus: 2 mana 2/3 demon, Effect: Whenever you discard a card, add 1 Succubus to your hand. -Rejected Pact: 5 mana spell, Effect: Draw 3 cards. If this card is discarded; draw 2 cards. -Corrupted Angel (legendary): 5 mana 4/4 Battlecry: For each card discarded this game, add a random "Discard" card to your hand. -Overlord Ra'ak (legendary): 7 mana 7/5 demon, Battlecry: Deal 2 damage to every character, except itself. If this card is discarded; deal 2 damage to every enemy instead. -Malganis's Right Hand: 4 mana 5/3 demon, Effect: If you discarded a card this turn, this card become Immune this turn. If this card was discarded; Summon it.
Honestly, even if just 3 cards were to come with similar style (not hurting yourself while discarding basically), then such deck would become a reality.
Does any of you agree with me, or have I forgotten about something?
