It's still good to have somewhat of a snapshot - Rather not the decklists themselves, but the deck archetypes, like this post. That way, I'm aware that Mage and Paladin are mostly played, so Eater of Secrets is mostly played, so I might not be able to test out my new fun N'Zoth Mage trying to use Duplicate when Eater of Secrets will tear me to shreds before the deck even has statistics.
At least, that's the concept. It also lets me know to run Eater of Secrets due to the high amount of Paladins & Mages, without telling me their decks.

I'm playing fun decks (which means I have under 50% win rate) including a 4 Gods Rogue deck using Anub'ar Ambusher - If a god is brought out with Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, then the Battlecry won't go off - The Ambusher gives a way to reuse them. If I play C'Thun, and fail to clear the opponent's entire board, then the Ambusher can make the final trade and bounce C'Thun so I won't lose to premium removal. With Ambushers in the deck, I don't need to play Shadowstep, and Ambushers have beefy bodies on their own, requiring one more resource from a trade with Piloted Shredder. Last but not least, having only one Ambusher die and no other deathrattles (rare but possible) gives me an out to play N'Zoth, the Corruptor early - and yes, getting a 5/7 and a 5/5 for 10 mana isn't the best value out of the old god, but for Rogue, I have to keep a board pretty much at all times. Last but not least, Yogg-Saron, Hope's End is a 7/5 for 10 mana that usually resolves 6 or 7 spells. I play him as soon as possible - and he's a viable target to bounce back incase I need to swing some tempo and have no other outs. Xaril, Poisoned Mind and Toshley provide four more potential Shadowsteps to play, and are both deathrattles so reanimating them with N'Zoth can provide two MORE Spare Parts / Toxins
The deck is mediocre,- but it is SO fun.
I've only played 1 game with all four old gods, against some Reno Warrior. I did win that match. Every other game I played, I either lose before playing an Old God (didn't find Deathlord or Ambusher) OR I win after playing one Old God (the value from one is enough to claim the board, unless it's Yogg Saron, then it's random).
This is a very interesting idea for a deck! I think youre on to something, the one thing I would say is that you may have too many secrets, While freeze mage finds 2 Ice barriers and 2 ice blocks useful im not sure your deck will be better with the 2 Ice barriers, More deathrattle minions that put pressure on the board as to prevent the 8 damage in the first place could do a lot. My first thoughts are they could be replaced with Deathlords (as they stop 8 damage and also offer an extra taunt to be brought back by N'zoth and destroys aggro decks) its obvious down side could be compensated for by adding a Polymorph to deal with any major threats and prevent other N'zoth decks from bring back crucial minions. Another possible addition would be Ice lance, yes a very low impact card on its own but allows for more damage out of no where and can be crucial in controlling the board state for only 1 mana. Also Loot hoarders seem to have a natural place in this deck given that they are card draw, a minion which this deck may need more of, and it can be brought back by N'zoth. My final suggestion is to add elise starseeker to this deck as an alternative win condition if and using dupicate on her can let you find the golden monkey quite quickly in certain control match ups which would probably win you the game in a lot of cases. Hope some of this helps feel free to use all of this, a little of this, or none of this. Id love to see what your final creation is and I bet you can find a way to take this concept to legend with a little tinkering.
Sweet! Thanks a ton for the help man. I'll see to some testing with the suggestions provided.
EdIt: Duplicated Elise vs Renolock... Wow. Played Monkey on turn 11. Had Brann Bronzebeard and Varian Wrynn... :D That was a fun match.
Hey all! I'm trying to come up with a N'Zoth Mage deck in Wild, utilizing Duplicates on Sludge Belcher, Sylvanas, or Carine Bloodhoof. It'll also have a Freeze Mage shell for protection. Thoughts on how a deck like this could work? What would the issues be?
I'm not posting here to steal the thread, it's just you guys seem to know the Wild meta, so I'd like some insight on power level. I don't understand how to determine good or bad matchups. I don't know what cards to really remove for tech choices either. All I know is that this deck seemed like fun so I threw something together, and I'm defeating Secret Pally and Face Shaman.
Ohh, I see... so N'Zoth Paladin is at Tier 3 because I'm only at rank 10? I've never seen a single Shaman in ladder, though, and my deck is doing great against both aggro and control. In my past, I think like 6 or so games, I fought a couple Secret Paladins, a couple Patron Warriors, a Midrange Hunter and another N'Zoth Paladin. Oh and a decent Control Priest. I've only lost through the worst RNG: Losing to a Brawl where the opponent keeps the only minion out of 6 total, just enough to deal lethal damage with Nightmare. Oh and I lost from D/C. I think I'm 6-2 today, but I haven't been keeping track, I just know I only lost two games.
Now, I'm not new to HS or MTG, but I've never focused too deeply on getting legendary. Been playing HS since season 2 and haven't gotten Legend once (I don't care too much, I'm just here for the fun games). To improve my knowledge on the deck interactions, could you tell me what makes N'Zoth Paladin lose by rank 5? Why is it not legend material?
What deck is best for getting me from rank 10 to rank 5, and then from 5 to legend?
