Hello everyone, I am fairly new to hearthstone (about a month) but I have played card games before. I understand the concepts and I would like to believe I know what I need to do to have a more than 50% win ratio. However, because I am 100% F2P, I was having issues building a deck that worked well. I dabbled in ranked recently and got up to about 14 before the patron warrior fad kicked in and it went to hell from there. I really like the Priest class and even after trying to build other recommended decks I still find myself having more success with my priest. Unfortunately, the last deck I built looked great on paper (to me atleast) I thought I had a pretty solid setup but for some reason I am only winning about 20% with it.
If you guys could take a look and let me know if you see an obvious issue I am missing or maybe give me a tip on some cards that could be replaced with different ones please toss out any ideas. I may just need more time playing the deck to get the hang of it but I am having issues narrowing down where the actual problem comes into play. My current deck is a mixture of burst and the DW/IF that way not all my eggs were in one basket. I thought I had decent board clear ability and plenty of removal to give me time to raw for the correct combo but I just cant seem to get the right cards to come at the right times it seems.
Combo decks of this nature tend to fall to this type of dilemma; never drawing the right cards you need for the combo. If you can center your combo around less cards and then substitute those unneeded cards for something in the late game and/or to maintain a board while stalling.
That's kind of the issue I run into. I get parts of each of the two kill combos but never get all the pieces for at once... I was playing purely divine spirit/inner fire but it is so easily countered... basically anything face beats me because I cant keep any minions on the board to actually buff. They just make sure to clear my board every single turn. I thought the only way around this would have been save the combo for a minion with charge (which is where the stormwind knight came from) however with him I can do 20 damage in one turn safely but it takes 10 mana to do it... and usually by that time im either dead or they have some form of taunt on the board ...
I thought the solution to that might be keeping a silence owl on hand but then the safe damage output goes down to 10... which now isn't even worth trying to combo... Usually the game is 100% one way either I dominate someone around turn 5/6 by buffing a lightwell that usually people ignore or cant kill right away. Or it gets to late game and im screwed.
