I want this thread for people to share their cases and encounters with Vol'jin to get a closer look at him with one another. What has it been used on? What was happening? Was there a followup? Vol'jin may seem like the best card, but it has alot of blank cases where it cannot be used, so here we share.
I mostly try and get value out of a trade on the board if at all possible. I've often ended up with a 6/4 or 6/5 to facilitate a trade with a Sledge Belcher, or Blastmage, etc. After that he usually trades into the board as well. Only once has he turned into the finisher after being used, which was against a Control-adin that ended up with a 9/9 (make that 9-2) Bloodknight.
Whatever you do, don't play him on a board with Stealth minions. There's just something about them that makes him want to explode. I think he gets confused.
In lack of better targets, I used him on my own 11 health Junkbot, which i then protected with a cloaking field and velen's chosen. Pretty much sealed the game. Opponent was playing some rush deck that simply couldnt deal with such high health minions, and me being able to trade so efficiently.
Thanks for all the helpful posts. I just opened Vol'jin and am trying to figure out the best way to use him. How many Smite's do you usually run with him? Is 2 excessive?

"Where da health!? Uuuaaaaaggh! *Poof*"
Is this working as intended? I would think he should at worst just show up with his 2 health - the same as would be the case were there no minions on the field (at least I assume this to be the case I've not tested it).

Voljin + Holy Smite or Holy Nova usually. You know, to kill the thing we health swapped.
Not sure if hyped yet.

sometimes ur creature has to be traded with the opponent's creature and vj can change hp with ur own creature.
Personally I only run 1 right now.

As stated before, I use it to make a 2-1 trade. No PW:D and a Rag on the field? Vol'jin into smite/holy nova or minion trade.
