it's not really NECESSARY, it's not the two copies of the card that make the deck playable. the thing is Primordial Drake is an excellent card overall and makes your deck better. but you can sub one out, no problem

In the current hyper-fast meta I find [card]Primordial Drake[/card] is simply too slow, even though - yes, it is a great card. But I cut the one copy I used.
I just run 2x Stonehill Defender so I still get a chance to draw one when facing Control. Or draw the Tortolla guy against aggro.
2x Primordial Drake is definitely not necessary and not optimal in most cases. For example, you will most likely be dead by the time you want to play the second one versus quest rogue, pirate warrior or midrange hunter, which are amongst the most played decks in standard and pretty hard for you to beat as dragon priest. I find other cards like Priest of the Feast or Holy Nova much more useful. However I do think keeping a second copy is great if you are facing too many slow decks or pallys. And if you play a lot of priest vs priest too since it's really hard to remove it from the board.

Thank you! Got any good options to sub this one?
Well, there are some options, Stonehill Defender is a good one 'cause it allows you to discover the drake itself. as other people said Twilight Drake is a very good option, so is Holy Nova. Priest of the Feast is awesome in this meta, gives you a lot of survivability against both aggro and all those mages that point spells only to face. if you're facing control a lot, i'd suggest either Ysera, Deathwing or even Onyxia
I've been playing Dragon Priest for the past few days and I am only running one Primordial Drake due to the fact that I only own one. Despite only owning one copy, I still believe that with the current meta 2 is too slow right now. I face mainly aggro and faster mid-range decks around ranks 7 through 10.
I have tried swapping out for Ysera and have had many games where this has helped, but wasn't a win condition: once again too slow.
Holy Nova gives you the same 2 damage effect without the 4/8 Taunt on the board and for 5 mana is a quicker clear for the aggro decks with a healing bonus.
IT depends on how much other late game stuff you are packing. If Primordial is the top of your curve and it is your only 8, then two is probably great. If your deck is packed with 8-10s just keep one for utility and ease up on that curve.
I run two in my dragon at the moment but I've run one for a long time before I crafted the second.

You don't even need a single primordial, let alone needing 2.. In a very fast meta, primordial won't save you, so you might as well run Ysera instead as a tech vs a few control decks on the ladder. If you're worried about aggro, then tech in doomsayers or tar creepers.

Hello guys!
Isn't one copy of them enough? Please, tell me what you think and why.
Thanks in advance!

Add a Twilight Drake or Book Wyrm if you don't have them already, or maybe Holy Nova to have a similar effect of Primordial Drake.
Use two, they are amazing.

I love Ysera but it's way too slow. As for Deathwing I'm using it but turns out you play him 1 game out of 8 maybe...
English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes.

in my dragon priest i added a mind control and free from amber so that shadow visions would get a lot of value
Kobolds are almost as bad as goblins, they gotta die (⌐■_■)–︻╦╤─
